I'm afraid I'd have to dig into the dotfiles of a former employer to give you the exact answer. Since I no longer work there, it might be, ummmm. Inappropriate to dig directly for those. Are you sure you can't work from the web references? If reading and mastering such net-based documentation is beyond your current expertise, I've got to ask, why are you using Emacs for mail rather than a more comfortable email environment, such as Thunderbird or Evolution? |

programing c with fedora core 3 Posted: 04 Aug 2005 08:56 AM PDT "Bill Davidsen" <prodigy.com> wrote in message news:OauIe.1367$news.prodigy.com... And buy a copy of the Kernighan and Ritchie book on programming C to learn how it's done. I'd also recommend getting a good book on "make", because you're going to want to bundle this stuff up. That default compiler name of "cc" is actually a link to "gcc", the GNU C Compiler. It's freeware, completely open source, and is one of the most popular and portable compilers in the world. |
Posted: 03 Aug 2005 08:32 PM PDT Guys: Basically I would like to implement 802.1Q functionality, can somebody point me whether do I need bridge to be enabled or not?. Most of the answers tells me, I don't need bridge to switch packets from One Ethernet (WAN side) to the other sidee (LAN side). Thanks. |
Install RH8.0 - Gigabyte GA-K8N SATA RAID motherboard. Posted: 03 Aug 2005 10:48 AM PDT gmarquez wrote: I would have said your job includes educating the ignorant, actually, as well. But since you're into old software, Promise at one time made an adaptor for IDE drives which allowed you to put two drives into RAID-1 off a single cable connection. So your controller thought it had one drive, but in truth it had an itty-bitty RAID-1 array. Several companies make a box of IDE drives which looks like a single SCSI drive (or small number of same in JBOD) when in reality it's RAID of some flavor. This allows you to use an obsolete but supported SCSI controller from the last millenium. Final thought, you could build the kernel as UML and run it under a newer kernel, use vmware (maybe, netBSD works), or put the hardware on a modern machine with proper backup and use nbd or NFS for the file system. I would tell management that RH8.0 is like Win98, and that it's time to move on. If your developers wrote code which is so non-portable that it won't run with a recompile you have a non-technical problem, baaad practices. -- bill davidsen SBC/Prodigy Yorktown Heights NY data center http://newsgroups.news.prodigy.com |

Second, they will set up sendmail for you in a reasonable configuration. Sendmail now (last few years) has a nice interface to spam filtering, which allows you to filter mail for a group easily. If you must provide Exchange capability you can do so, Google for some suggestions. Note that Mozilla on Windows can use standard (POP3) mail, if you want to get out of the Exchange business. Someone can probably offer a suggestion for a groupware which uses shared schedules, the main benefit of Exchange beyond mail. -- bill davidsen SBC/Prodigy Yorktown Heights NY data center http://newsgroups.news.prodigy.com |
