Make formfield show 3 characters

Posted: 10 Apr 2013 01:12 PM PDT

I have a form field that is designed to have a number (001, 002, 003 etc) typed into it. I know you can prevent additional characters from being added by limiting it to 3 characters from the properties menu. When I do this and type 001 into the form field it auto corrects it to just read 1. Is there a way to get it to show the first two zeros?

Exclude square brackets in citations to references numbered with square brackets

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 03:37 PM PDT

I am using a company template in which references to other people's work are numbered in such a way that the numbers are enclosed in square brackets.  I don't want these square brackets to show up in the citation.  Is there a way to accomplish this?

For example, I want to cite 3 references like this [3-5] instead of like this [3]-[5].  I can do the former if I manually type the square brackets in my citations rather than having it done automagically for me by the cross-reference.

Make an image clickable

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 02:33 AM PDT

Hi,

I have a QR-code in a document. When the document is printed the QR-code should be scanned and the person scanning it will be taken to a website with a video. However, when the user opens the document in Word I would like him/her to be able to click the image of the QR-code and be taken to the website.

I tried to accomplish this by selecting the image, pressing Ctrl-Alt-H, and entering the URL that should be opened. However, when I hover above the QR-code I do not see the message that I could click it.

I made a signature for my email that contains the QR-code. When you hover above the signature's QR-code you DO have the possibility to click the image and be taken to the website.

What do I need to do to get a clickable image in Word 2007?

Mail Merge, when merging multiple records to the same start document template, How do you keep the layout from shifting?

Posted: 04 Apr 2013 11:18 AM PDT

While using Mail Merge, I'm trying to create multiple documents off a source .csv file and a previously created Word start document.  The first record works great however after that the layout shifts for the following records.  So for example the Date data is now pushed out of the Date field area and now shows in the name field area.  How do you keep the layout after the first record is merged?

configuration of word archives

Posted: 04 Apr 2013 09:37 AM PDT

Every time I open a word document (Word Home and Student 2007) it takes around 3 minutes to "configure the necessary archives".
This happens only with word and NOT with the rest of Office programmes.

What should I do to open my word archives avoiding this configuration?

Office 2003 pro question

Posted: 25 Jul 2004 08:12 AM PDT

Office 2003 (any version) will only run on Windows 2000 SP-3 or Windows XP.
Previous versions of Office will run on most other versions of Windows,
except for Office XP which will not run (in most cases) on Windows 95.

Office is a business productivity suite that runs on top of your operating
system. For instance, Office 2004 will only run on Mac OS 10.x which is an
operating system. Open Office and Star Office will run on multiple
Operating Systems, such as Linux, Windows, Mac (only OO.org on Mac, not sure
about Star Office, but I think not.)

Think of this as a house/furnishing scenario. You need a house (walls,
wiring, roof, etc.) into which you can place furniture and appliances.
Windows is the house, Office is the furnishing.

You'll want to talk to the IT Department at your university. They manage
such licensing programs and can get you set up with the software your
University has licensed.
