word 2013: how to change the position of the footnotes' separator line

Posted: 01 Sep 2013 09:35 AM PDT

Hello everybody,

I'm translating academic literature that has footnotes from Hebrew into German and vice versa. Recently I moved to Word 2013, and when translating into Hebrew, I have to add footnotes that would be aligned from right to left, just like the main text in the document. The problem is, that the separator line (between the main text and the footnotes' area in the bottom) remains aligned to the left, even if the footnotes themselves are aligned to the right.

Does anybody know how to solve this issue, i.e. how to change the default position of the separator line? Previous versions of Word always changed the position automatically, according to the alignment of the whole passage.

Many thanks ahead!

MS Office 2007 Opening Problem!!

Posted: 01 Sep 2013 08:46 AM PDT

Hello. I have a minor problem regarding MS Office 2007. When I open an existing document or wish to create a new document (any application - Word, Excel, etc.), it displays the setup window. I had left the setup as it is for completion for hours but the setup won't end. So, I have to cancel it every time. After cancelling it an other dialogue box appears. That too shows no progress. I have to cancel it also. Then finally the required windows opens. But this all is very time consuming and irritating. Please suggest an excellent solution.

Lost the text contents of a Microsoft Word 2007 document while trying to copy and paste it.

Posted: 31 Aug 2013 10:33 PM PDT

Lost the contents of a Microsoft Word 2007 file while trying to cop and paste it.
The name of the file is still listed in the contents file of Word when I open up Word and also in a sub folder of My Documents but when I click on either icon, all that opens up is a blank page. All other Word Document files in the folder open normally.
I tried all 6 methods suggested on the Microsoft " how to retrieve a lost file " website but nothing works .... Auto Retrieve, Manual Retrieve etc. etc.
Does anyone know how to retrieve the lost text and restore the file ?    ( It was an 8 Page article I wrote )
Looking through this community website is cumbersome. Would prefer you contact me directly by e-mail ...... *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Word 2010 printing "white"

Posted: 31 Aug 2013 07:28 PM PDT

I am trying to print words from Word 2010. I have a blue background. I can only see the words against this background as they are printing in white.

This has only just happened. Have I altered a setting somewhere?

Whilst others are trying to print in white, I would be happy to print in the default back again.

I can print from outside word correctly, however, even the Word documents that used to print in black have now changed to white.

I am printing on an Epson XP-700. My Epson R 1900 prints them in black.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Tom

You could do this using a public folder or create a mailbox that all relevant
users have access to and add it to Outlook. Global Calendars are common and
can offer many benefits. Depending on the amount of users you could perhaps
use the invite attendees feature that would update the calendar in user

What you will need is a POP3 Connector. Best is to google and choose

is similar. I've used POPCON and do in the home lab.

Is there any reason that all this mail is being delivered to the Unix
server and then you have to extract it? I could understand if all mail
was sent to Unix and then addresses that didn't match parameters on
the Unix were sent to this inbox for Exchange to gather but if
everything is going into one box then what's the point of popping the
mail?

Here's the problem...16GB just isn't very much storage these days. And very
few of the companies I've dealt with seem to be willing to place a limit on
the size of user mailboxes. So, if you have a small number of users and/or
place limits on mailbox size, by all means, go for Standard. But Enterprise
give you a lot more flexibility in the future not only with store size but
the ability to have multiple stores, cluster, etc. that I'd recommend it if
possible.

e-mail forwarding?

Posted: 15 Mar 2005 07:29 AM PST

What you might have to do to is on the executives machines create a rule that
sends all email to the secretary. Give the secretary permission to his mail,
and add his mailbox to her outlook. Now when she receives a forwarded email
from the executive she can read it over and then move it into his mailbox
inbox.

Yikes what a problem!!! Glad not to be in your shoes.

just another guess, but since this is a trial version on an oem installation
it may work.
If you end up needing the original installation media which you are entitled
to, call you system manufacturer and demand the recover disk(s). You should
do this anyway since your original installation of Office would be based on
the trial conversion if it works. You would need these disk(s) again if your
drive ever crashes and you need to reinstall after the warranty period.

slipstreaming without key

Posted: 11 Feb 2005 11:43 AM PST

As an enterprise customer you may be able to
acquire and use the OEM/system builder tools.
My understanding is that the ability to force
the CD key request through the Office Resource Kit
tools was removed with Office 2003.

You might be able to modify a reg key prior to
finalizing the CD so that it would prompt for
a key as a workaround, but you may want to
speak with the MS volume license folks on this
as well.

==========
news:com...
I do have an enterprise key. its just that I want to create an updated cd
for those in my field offices that need them on their laptops and are not
connected to our office(dial up is a pain), but I also do not want them going
install happy with the cd either. Since we use pcAnywhere to connect
remotely we can insert the key ourselves but updating office thru dialup is a
pain.

So basically there is no way that my company (we are not OEM) can create a
Office 2003 SP1 CD for our users without also giving them the key that would
be integrated if i start this as an admin install? I pray that there has to
be a way. >>

Actually I'm not sure why I even responded to that, that way...just a

Tabs in OO.o is a wholly different subject.

I don't know even where the extension that added the tabs is any longer,
and not surprised to hear that it doesn't work with the newer builds. It
was my understanding that it was just a proof of concept mini-project
anyway.

But to tabs themselves
- At one point I really thought it was a good idea.
- I find that my desire for them is lessened by a window manager that
automatically stacks open window titles under a single application

When I finally got a response back that I didn't need to write a book

My list of "problems" was meant to be a sampling, also. Even if I
