Sounds like you need to change the power button settings in the control
panel.

Here are a couple of links to sites that describe how to do it in both Vista
and it's latest clone, Windows 7.
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/change-the-windows-vista-power-buttons-to-shut-down/

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/63567-power-options-sleep-mode-problems.html

I suspect something is set to the sleep or hibernate mode rather than
shutdown but it could also be a setting in the bios as well. The second
link shows info on that as well as more than I wanted to read about the
subject.

My cable modem (RCA DCM425) has a little button I push to disconnect when I
am not using the internet. I just push the button again for internet
access.

I need to send (or receive) a fax several times a year. Not all
businesses and government agencies have the ability to send and
receive documents via email.

I use greenfax.com for sending faxes (@ $.07/page) and eFax for
receiving them (free).

Microsoft Word - Word UserForms: Saving .addItem answers in an Array

Microsoft Word - Word UserForms: Saving .addItem answers in an Array

Word UserForms: Saving .addItem answers in an Array

Posted: 11 Dec 2012 10:48 AM PST

I have a number of UserForms where I have to use .addItem to populate comboboxes.

In some cases, I just create the .addItem entries manually in the Initialize stage.  In some other cases, I have Word VBA grab data from a local Access database.

In either case, this process can take a very long time, up to a minute.  It works, but it takes way too long.

It would seem to save time if I could save, on first use, the .addItems items in an array for the entire Word session.  While I use VBA quite a bit, I have no experience with arrays (and since some of the .addItem's have 2 or more columns, I'd need a multi-dimensional array).

How could I do that?

TIA

Problems printing labels -- comes out grey?

Posted: 11 Dec 2012 07:29 AM PST

I'm using MS Word 2007. Trying to print Avery Shipping Label 5164. When I print the label the background comes out grey on the whole sheet of labels.  How can I fix this?

When I am trying a mail merge in Office 2010, Word says it can't find the data file. The file is saved as a Word document and I don't understand why there is a problem.

How to make table margins obey margin settings?

Posted: 10 Dec 2012 03:37 PM PST

Hello:

When you set page margins, and add a table to a page, you can drag the table edges outside the set page margins without "punishment" :-). How would you make the table edges obey the page margins? And/or where can you see the margin values for the edges of a table?

Sorry if this is simplistic, but I actually have never seen answers to the above questions, although I have only used 2010 for a while.

Regards,

Hans L

Recover MS Office 2010 Files After Trial Period Is Over.

Posted: 09 Dec 2012 09:51 AM PST

I have downloaded the 60 day free Ms Office 2010 Professional.  I will be doing some work and send files to my friend.  My question is, will my friend be able to view and make changes (if required) in those files which I created, once the 60 day free period is over? My friend has a 2007 Office version. I will not purchase the product once the free period is over.
