weird indentation on odd pages

Posted: 26 Dec 2014 01:56 PM PST

The bullets and paragraph on my odd pages doesn't seem to respond to the indentations on the ruler correctly, it's like it's going the other way around. If I move the lower left indentation to the right then the paragraph responds as if I moved it to the left. I'm working with quite a lot of bullets and numbering so this is messing me up. Here's several snips to better explain what I'm experiencing

I tried making a new document and wrote random stuff but it worked just fine. btw I'm still using office 2007 and just installed several windows update, I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance

title case capitalizing The

Posted: 26 Dec 2014 01:23 PM PST

I just typed something up, then realized I stupidly forgot to capitalize the words in the title.

Being lazy, I tried the "change case" from the tools menu and chose "title case".

However, it capitalized the first letter of every word, including a "the" in the middle of the title.

I thought Word 2003 was smarter than that. Was I remembering wrong, remembering a different version (Word 97, 2000, XP), thinking of ClarisWorks 4.0 or Open Office Writer, or is there a feature to make it do it the correct MLA way like I learned in elementary school 25-30 years ago?

If it is a preference or feature, how do I enable it? If I was thinking of a different word processor, could somebody remind me for my sanity's sake which one it was (ClarisWorks 3.0/4.0 on the mid to late '90s Macs or Open Office Writer)?

Unfortunately, my Mac is dead, so I can't test ClarisWorks, but I can try Open Office or LibreOffice.

New Office 2013 Install On Win 7. Nothing Is Working?

Posted: 26 Dec 2014 09:35 AM PST

So I just installed Office 2013 on Windows 7 Pro.  The install appeared to work fine (i.e. no error messages).

So I go to start up Word and get the document page,  so I select blank document.  It seems to come up but then I immediately I get:  Microsoft Word has stopped working.  I haven't tried every one of the Office 2013 programs but I get the same error trying Excel.

Ideas?

Thanks,

Ray

Multiple Table of Content links per row in a Word document

Posted: 25 Dec 2014 10:25 PM PST

Hello,

Is there any way to place multiple table of content (TOC) links in a single row?

For example, suppose you have a document in which the TOC displays links for Sections (Heading 1), Topics (Heading 2) and Chapters (Heading 3) as follows:

Section I
        1st Topic
                Chapter 1
                Chapter 2
                Chapter 3
                Chapter 4
        2nd Topic
                Chapter 1
                Chapter 2
…and so on.

Is it possible to change the TOC formatting so that the word "Chapter" is not repeatedly shown and the Heading 2 levels are each on a different row but the Heading 3 levels are on the same row?

Like this:

Section I
        1st Topic 1 2 3 4
        2nd Topic 1 2
…and so on.

Thanks

Can't delete a user / assign a license

Posted: 10 Aug 2005 08:07 PM PDT

First, Deployment Manager can only be used to add new users to the system.
Changes to existing users are done via the web app in the system settings area
under Business Units. You can modify the licenses assigned to user there as
well as their roles.

In order to drop the DB's, you first need to disable the tion
publications on those DB's. This can be done in enterprise Manager, but your
server can not be registered as (local), it must be registered in EM under the
machine name.

I figured out that you can't delete a user. (at least not easily). When I
go into deployment manager, under licenses, the action button doesn't have
anything under it... so I can't assign a license to that user.

I previously had CRM installed under a different organization "Adventure
works cycle" - the test org. This user was setup as a user in that system.
I uninstalled CRM, unistalled SQL ( I couldn't delete the ted
databases, is there an easier way to remove them), then reinstalled both, now
I'm having this issue. Please help!!

Creating conditioned workflows...help pls

Posted: 10 Aug 2005 07:33 AM PDT

There have been made some improvements in the workflow engine of CRM 3.0. But
I can't really say if those requirements can be implemented using the new
tools. Maybe some of the other beta testers can.

Adding an email Signature

Posted: 10 Aug 2005 05:21 AM PDT

There's no way to automatically add a signature, but each user can create a
template for this purpose (Tools > Options > Email Templates tab). They just
need to insert it whenever they create an email in CRM.

Thanks for the reply Matt.

The funny thing is, and I probably should have stated this, we haven't
changed anything in Deployment Manager. I don't think anyone has been into
the Deployment Manager in ages. I did add a picklist value to an unrelated
field so I published that and that's it.

Cannot Modify Security Role

I do have a recent backup of the database. I don't see why this application
would not allow me to change this role back. I have the ability to change
other roles. Just not this one.

User Access Error in MSCRM

Posted: 09 Aug 2005 11:45 AM PDT

Hi Tami,

I now have MSCRM working.
I did the following:

1. Used Resolution 3 of your suggestions, which show that the Root Business
unit was disabled.
2. I Ran a SQL Update query to change the IsDisabled column to 0.
3. I changed the CRMAppPool Identity under IIS Application pools to
LocalSystem from NetworkService.

We are now able to fully access MSCRM. I am aware of the warnings of using
LocalSystem account as the Application identity. If you have any suggestions
I would be grateful.

Thank you very much for your help on this.

Regards,

Pere

MC CRM and MapPoint in the UK

Posted: 09 Aug 2005 05:31 AM PDT

Hi John

I tried one of Microsoft's addresses in the US and it worked fine, so it
seems to be a UK related issue - either UK not being available on the staging
server, or an issue with the correct formatting of UK addresses.

Deployment Manager snap-in failed to initalize

Hi Matt,
Thanks for your reply - yes User A is a local admin and so is User B.
User B can create users, modify forms / settings and licences okay
inside CRM - User B is also a local admin on the machine. The
CRMSecurityService is configured to run using a specified account User
C which also is a local admin on the machine but is not a user of the
CRM system. Don't know if this makes a difference or not. Logging on to
the machine as User B or User C both get the same error message. Thanks
for any more help you can give!

Thanks for that I knew it was somewhere just not where. It seems to

Increasing the limit to 15Mb allows files over 5Mb to be uploaded but
then seems to fail at about 8 or 9 Mb, as though CRM has an upper
limit over and above the value set in that registry key. Are there any
limits other than this registry?

Lost Active Directory OU

Posted: 09 Aug 2005 02:46 AM PDT

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately without AD in place none of the redeployment tools will work.

I have looked into past Threads and everyone keeps saying that the SID would
be different, which is what i assumed. What i fail to see is where this SID
is stored. If it is stored somewhere then surely i can change this to the new
SID.

Can someone please shed some light on where these SIDs are located in the
Databases???

Thank you.
