ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR, CAN I RECOVER DOCUMENT???

By the way,
there are a myriad of ways to prompt you to save ,

An oven timer, alarm clock etc etc.

or, Just set the time of your local Anti Virus Program to do an update
in 20 minutes or so, when the screen prompt appears
cancel , re set in another 20 minutes, and save your Works file.

Saving your file will soon become second nature ALT F / S

| Hi..............,
| It is very unlikely that your file exists, it has probably gone.
|
| You may do an advanced file search for all files that were
| created very near to the time of the system crash and ascertain
| if any of the files are likely to contain the remnants of your work.
|
| The message came to inform you that the system had crashed.

|
|
| When typing long documents it is prudent to save every 10 to
| 15 minutes, the amount of time for which you would not wish to
| repeat the typing. It is also prudent to save in serial order, such
| that you may retrace your steps , if need be.
|
|
| Perhaps create a file and save it as Deanna1.wps (say), type for

Hi Chuck,

I do not believe that there is a user-configurable setting for the
Footnote font that can be saved in a template file.

You can select (individual) footnotes and format, as required.

Here is my fix (also includes you correction to the AM / PM part):

Works 4.5a and calendar pop up reminders not working

Posted: 04 Dec 2004 10:55 AM PST

Hi Horatio,

Open Works Calendar and set a reminder to occur, say, five minutes
into the future.

Close Works Calendar.

Locate the file WksCalRem.exe and double-clicked it, this should cause
reminders to be monitored. Although nothing appears to have happened
the program is loaded into memory and is monitoring the reminders.

If it is operating correctly the new reminder should appear shortly.

If the reminder is displayed, then placing the shortcut into the Startup
folder should do the same thing.

The Startup folder ensures that you will not have run WksCalRem again,
it should happen automatically,on each and every Startup.

| iCalendar is a widely accepted internet standard for calendar data exchange

|
| For example, Works, Apple iCal, Mozilla Calendar, Outlook, etc can all
| exchange calendar data using the iCalendar format. It also means if you go

font size settings seem to be "off" somehow

Posted: 14 Jun 2013 12:33 PM PDT

I'm using Word 2010 with Windows XP, and have the font set at 12, however it looks too small on the screen.

When I increase the font to 24 for example, it looks like font 12 on the screen.  However, it prints out very large.

I first noticed this problem after I set up a new printer.  When I tried to print something off the internet or an email, the print would be very tiny and only a small portion of the image would show up.  I called the printer manufacturer (Brother), and they said the problem was with the internet provider.  I ended up changing internet providers.  Now I can print fine from email or internet, but Word documents are not printing properly.

Any suggestions as to what I might try to fix this problem.

Thank you

Ok, the Office2003 disc is brand new and not been used before. So I take it,
that'll be fine then! Bloomin' good job as I can't believe how much they
cost. I went into a computer shop and they said around £100 and that dosen't
even include everything.
So I suppose the only way to prevent everything being wiped (as I saved
everything in Office Word documents) is to save it onto CD then?
I have to say, this 'chat-room' is excellent, don't you think?

Office 97 Pro & Windows XP Pro SP2

Posted: 06 Sep 2004 03:18 AM PDT

Steve,

This problem arises with most old Microsoft software. SP2 is designed to force customers buy new software. Office 97 is 7 years old and so according to uncle Bill it should be replaced even if you want to use it for basic spreadsheet or wordprocessing purposes. You have to understand that if software packages are not replaced regularly, then Microsoft can't make any money. Why should customers continue using the same software for life?.

The alternative is to have self destruct button so that after every 3 years the software will not install. Perhaps uncle Bill is worried of Anti-trust commission!

Using consistent mount points for USB & Firewire ieee1394 drives

Posted: 28 Aug 2004 08:31 AM PDT

begin com (hish) dedi ki:

You can mount your USB volumes based on volume-label instead of device
name. E.g:

As root issue:
# e2label /dev/sdc1 USBPART1

and then in /etc/fstab:
LABEL=USBPART1 /mnt/myusb1 ext3 defaults 1 2

so the first partition on the USB drive will always mount as /mnt/myusb1
regardless of which device it is on.

Alternatively you can get your USB device recognized consistently, as
explained in other posts.

Any way to avoid using GRUB

You could use lilo.
Something has to load the operating system. The bios is too stupid and has
noidea where the operating systems are loaded on the disk. This is done by
a bootloader. Aso Something has to uncompress the linux kenrel, and jump to
the beginning of the kernel code . These things ae done by lilo or grub.
Linux can boot all sorts of operating systems. Including Windows.
HOwever if you would rather use the Windows bootloader to load the OS
youcan but then lilo or grub has to be installed in the partition that
contains /boot.

Besides how badly pcnfsd sucked when Sun wrote it, and for which they should

Hmmm...how to see Windows from LInux?

Posted: 26 Aug 2004 07:46 PM PDT

begin com (David Hill) dedi ki:

Find out which partition is "E" on, either with graphical admin utilities
provided with your distro, or from the command line (as root):
# cfdisk /dev/hda (touch nothing, and exit via "Q")

Assuming that,
hda1 -> C
hda2 -> E
hda5 -> Linux

either add that partition as a mount point via graphical admin
utilities provided with your distro, or edit /etc/fstab (as root) and add
the line below:
/dev/hda2 /mnt/e auto defaults 0 0

It is a good practice to save your original fstab via
cp -a /etc/fstab /etc/fstab.orj

and create the mount point via:
mkdir /mnt/e

P.S: It is a good practice to save your original fstab via
# cp -a /etc/fstab /etc/fstab.orj

P.P.S: I suggest you change E from NTFS to FAT32, so that E will be
accessed r/w by Linux (as opposed to r/o).

P.P.P.S: It is also a good practice to split Linux installation to 2
partitions, one for /home (as much as you can allocate) and the other for
the rest (4-6G). It is analogous to splitting a Windows installation to C
and D. When you reinstall Linux, only the system will be written over.
Your /home partition would be intact (depending on your choice while
installing), so you would be able to carry your personal data from one
install to another.

Is there a way to build an account from an existing Outlook 2003/Exchange 2003 Contact?

Posted: 02 Apr 2004 08:22 AM PST

I installed the migration framework, but I have not tried to use it. I just
have a hundred or so accounts to create, and I guess I can just cut and
paste data between existing contacts and the Account form. I just want to
make sure there was not something simple in the box to do this.

MSCRM Outlook Client + c360/ISV

Posted: 02 Apr 2004 02:11 AM PST

Mary,

All our tools (and all ISV solutions for that matter) work in the Outlook
client in ONLINE mode only. When users go offline, Microsoft CRM does not
hide the links which may lead users to believe that they can use these tools
but it fails when they click on the links because CRM is attempting to
connect to your web server.

To enable SearchPac in the Oulook client: take a look at section 7 on pages
8 and 9 of the installation guide. Also, the SearchPac ZIP file contains a
sample configuration file that you can simply save in the _resources folder
on your CRM server to enable this.

Accounts), using custom tables sitting outside of the MSCRM DB but within
SQL Server (& our own aspx pages etc). We have been successful on the web
client, but I'm looking for a rough idea about how complex it would be to
implement on the Outlook client Offline.
however I'm not so sure about the aspx pages would work - does it require a
great deal of extra configuration? Is it even possible?

IE Browser Problems

Posted: 01 Apr 2004 09:32 PM PST

I have also had this problem except on a clean install. I am testing it for use for some customers, and have one server and one workstation. When I try to browse to the user interface sometimes I get there and sometimes I don't. Once there I can't access all of the tabs..

You need to remove the MSDE install and the registry keys that are created for
MSCRM.

Dates in Workflow

Posted: 01 Apr 2004 04:21 PM PST

Hi Cindy,

Actually It's one problem from Ms.CRM that it can't handle date in workflow
if you use it as is. FYI, Your problem is almost the same with me but now, I
already can handle it. I want to send email to each contact who got birthday
today.
First, you have to add boolean field in contact
Second, create Workflow that use that field. If that field True create your
action (Use Manual Event), don't forget to update that field into false
after it
Third, create console app. that can execute that workflow by using CRM SDK
1.2
Forth, create a job in SQL, give True value in that field if today is their
birthday and run your console app.
And then schedule it to run everyday.

If the other reader have another solution, please tell me it.

Good luck,

CRM Minimum Specs

Thanks Matt, I did search the IG for 'exchange' and 2000 and the only thing

entire IG yesterday afternoon and started reading and came across it a
couple hours later..

E-Mail Exchange Router

Posted: 01 Apr 2004 08:06 AM PST

Am I reading this correctly? You sending an email from a CRM user using Outlook
Express and you want it to get captured in CRM? This is not supported. If you
want the outbound email to be put into CRM, it needs to originate in CRM.

Comparison Table

Posted: 01 Apr 2004 07:22 AM PST

MS CRM claims to do some of Saleslogix and Accpac/et al.
I am living on this newsgroup wondering if I can use CRM internally to run
my shop.

If MS CRM 1.2 could do 50% of the more mature CRM's, I would implement it in
a second.

MS CRM 1.2 looks good (especially compared to 1.0), but.... who is using it
in production?
Where are the success stories?

Lots of potential, but maybe it is like Access 1.0.
Access 2.0 was the killer app when it took off.
