How can I recover missing text!

Posted: 05 Apr 2015 11:34 AM PDT

I was typing a word document (Office 2003) on my old Windows XP 2002, which I made sure to save every few minutes, when somehow I hit the mouse and the  pages of text were gone! The document is still on the desktop (and comes up when searching for files) and notes the date and time last modified and the 23.5 KB size, but there is just one blank page when it is opened. Is there any way to recover the text or is it lost forever and I will have to recreate two days of lost work? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Missing clipart

Split from this thread.

I am having the same issue.  I started out with clip art on 2010, but then a few weeks ago it just disappeared.  I thought it was work getting rid of excess distractions, but maybe that's not the case.  I want my darn clip art back.  The only check box I have to select is "Include Bing content" and even if I put the subject I'm looking for and "clip art" I'm either getting crappy clip art or some really scary things.

Rotate word 2007 text

Posted: 05 Apr 2015 09:59 AM PDT

I would like to rotate the text in my word 2007 document 90 degrees.  This way I can print two 5X8 pages on one 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper.  I do not want to go the route of turning it into a jpeg.  Landscape setting does not accomplish this either.  Any ideas?  TY

Resetting/Applying quick styles to several documents simultaneously

Posted: 05 Apr 2015 07:19 AM PDT

I created and/or modified a few custom quick styles in the normal template, and I wish to apply the changes/additions to not only any subsequently created documents (which is possible through checking "New documents based on this template" in the Modify Style window), but also to all existing documents based on this template (and applying the changes to their contents at the same time), of which I have many (as in, over a hundred, all across a complicated tree of folders and subfolders). Is this possible to do without resorting to manually opening each of those 100+ files and selecting "Change Styles > Style Set > Reset to Quick Styles from Template" then saving the file, over and over again?

Line Spacing at a specific point in a document - issue with bullet lists

Posted: 05 Apr 2015 02:25 AM PDT

Hello,

I know how to create unique line spacing for one line: Paragraph>>Line Spacing>>Multiple, etc: HOWEVER, when attempting to create spacing after a bulleted list, in which the final listed item is more than one line, the line spacing ALSO applies itself between the lines of the multi-lined bulleted item.

Visual Example:

Dan's List

  • I went to the store
  • I went home
  • This next bullet is two lines, any spacing I specify to go after the 2nd line of this bullet also applies itself between the two lines of this bullet item.

Next sentence continues here.

Please help me apply spacing to only what is below the 2nd line of the final bullet item, thanks!

Getting error "Word couldn't create the work file. Check the environment variable." in Word 2007

Hi,

I'm getting this error "Word couldn't create the work file. Check the environment variable." while opening a Word document in MS Word 2007. Also, I'm getting another error "There was a problem sending the command to program." I've attached the screenshots.

How can I fix this?
