Posted: 07 Jul 2004 09:14 AM PDT Hi Milly, Thanks for your response. I opened the Language Bar's settings by clicking Start | Settings | Control Panel | Text Services, which opened the Text Services dialog. In that dialog, I clicked the Language Bar button and unchecked "Show the Language bar on the desktop," which got rid of the Language Bar. However, I don't see any option to "enable the system tray icon." Of course, there's still no EN btn is in my System Tray. Any further suggestion as to where the "enable the system tray icon" option can be found on my configuration: Windows 2000 SP4 + Microsoft Office 2003. Posted: 06 Jul 2004 07:19 PM PDT I currently have Office 2000 Small Business installed (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher). I also have FrontPage 2002. I have other MS programs that aren't part of office, so I suppose I needn't worry about them. Office Pro has Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher as well as PowerPoint and Access. I've got backups of all my data directories and Outlook's .pst file. My instinct is that the install would go smoother after uninstalling the older version. But I'd like to know if anyone has opinions one way or the other. Thanks. Stephen "Chris Schatte" <com> wrote in message news:com... does? your Office 2003 edition do not remove them. If you do, there might be problems installing any new updates (not applied to date). could reuse them to rebuild your system if needed. |

Posted: 06 Jul 2004 01:44 PM PDT This can be done by using the Registry Editor. Make a backup of the registry first. 'Find' your friends name - which is bound to appear more than once - and then substitute your own name. HOWEVER, I do not recommend you try it if you have never edited the 'registry' before. Mistakes can be fatal and laptop computers are far more tricky to reload than a desktop. A local dealer should be able to do it for you.
