CCR sit atop an MSCS MNS cluster. Shouldn't that be wait for E2007 SP1 and
SCR?

Assuming the second server is a new server, load it W2k3 ent and connect to
appropriate shared storage. run the cluster configuration wizard as this
will be the first node of a cluster. Load exchange, then move all the
mailboxes from your existing exchange w2003 server and follow
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931/en-us. Reload the original server
w2k3 ent, and join the cluster. Load exchange 2003. test failover.

Exchange mailbox setup

Hi,

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123872.aspx is a good place to
start reading. No need to install the adminpak, if you look in the exchange
server program folder you see an active directory users and computers mmc,
that is all you need to create mailboxes.

Sender Id must be configured with a list of trusted mail servers?

Posted: 29 May 2007 09:22 AM PDT

Do you have SenderID enabled on the SMTP virtual server? If yes, and your
Exchange server does not directly receive inbound email, it needs to know
all the servers that either belong to you or are "trusted", to determine
which IP addresses to check in SPF records.

ISA - depends on the configuration. Look at message headers for inbound
mail - if the ISA's IP address appears in the headers, add it to the
perimeter IP list. If ISA is simply allowing inbound smtp to Exchange, you
may not need to.

Fairly certain there's no way to to filter out a single event ID - you can
filter your view to include some event IDs, but not exclude events
explicitly.

exchange 2007 unable to create a public folder tree

Posted: 26 May 2007 09:32 AM PDT

Hi,

Thanks for updating.

I am glad to know the problem is resolved.

In this case the CN=Folder Hierarchies was missing in AD. The reason is
unknown.

I'd like to make a summary for this post:

Problem: When you add a new public store database, you received the
following error:

Exchange is unable to create a public folder tree for the public folder
database that you specified.

Solution:

To resolve the issue, Please use ADSIEdit.

1. Right-click CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) and
select New|Object

2. Select MSexchPublicFolderTreeContainer

3. Input "Folder Hierarchies" for the CN

4. Right-click CN=Folder Hierarchies and select New|Object

5. Input "Public Folders" for the CN (class=msExchPFTreeType)

6. Set msExchPFTreeType attribute to 1 on CN=Public folders

For future postings, I would like to list the following information as a
guideline when submitting new posts in the future. This information will
help us to understand the issue and situation more quickly. Thank you!

1. Has the server/client/product ever worked?

2. If so, what changed?

3. What service packs and updates were applied?

4. What are the steps to reproduce the problem?

5. Does it happen the same way on any other systems?

6. Please provide the exact error message with any screenshots, if possible.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)

You are right. I need Outlook 2003 to take adventage of all extra feature
which came with SP2 for exchange server 2003. But you can use Outlook 2002
and SCL. What you have to do is use Outook Web Access 2003 to enable junk
e-mail filtering. If you don't do that (what it was in my case!!) all junk
mail is delivered directly to the user's Inbox. I foung this information in
"Microsoft Exchnage Server Intelligent Message Filter v2 Operation Guide".
Thank you very much for trying to help!

Default Virtual POP3 Server startup problem

Posted: 23 May 2007 11:49 PM PDT

I understand your point fully. I have seen this a number of times and
although very breifly looked at the issue I have never taken it any further
because it is such a minor issue. All server reboots are planned so as a part
of the procedure we check the POP3 VS on reboot, its all part of a documented
procedure. If the VS is stopping at seemingly random times then thats
different. I have found that POP3 in an Exchange Environment is pretty rare
these days and even more so in Exchange 2007 environments with its Outlook
Anywhere and OWA enhancements. I hope you find an answer.

OK, so the RPC over HTTP won't work but how about configuring Outlook 2003
to be able to send out messages from the laptop using SMTP/POP3. I don't
need the laptop to recieve mail since we can use the VPN & Remote Destop to
view mail. What I am looking for is when the laptop is not connected to the
VPN and I click on a mailto: hyperlink Outlook opens and sends an e-mail out
using our Exchange account. Is RPC over HTTP the only way to do that?

I am taking this above from my Office 2003 Enterprise Edition

that's the case, your computer manufacturer could have helped you reinstall
