Microsoft Word - getting 2003 files to open

getting 2003 files to open

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 03:07 PM PDT

I had office 2003, and several files saved using this format. I recently downloaded 2013 version and uninstalled the 2003 since it will no longer be used or supported. However, none of the 2003 files are opening. What did I do wrong, and how can I get my files to open?

How Do You Highlight or Find Specific Cross-reference For Endnotes in the Document?

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 01:04 PM PDT

I have a large document, and I used the endnote functionality and cross-referencing functionality in MS Word to write my references. Now I would like to delete one of my endnotes (reference #2) and would like to find all cross-references associated with it so I can delete them also. Is there an easy way to do this?

On a related question, is there a way to highlight all endnotes and cross-references associated with them--all together? I'm aware you can use the options>advance>field shading option but I think that only works for the cross-references, not the endnotes. Thanks!!!

Red x in word document

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 12:22 PM PDT

I'm converting a web version of an agenda into a word doc. Everything converts properly except it always shows a red x in a box at the top.  There is no image in the web version.  I've had this tested by others and they don't get the red  x.  It only occurs for me.  I have Office 365.  Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Microsoft Word

I made a BIG mistake and accidentally deleted "Word". I use it nearly every day! I tried restoring and it restored everything back to 2011, I thought. But it still doesn't work. When I pull up my programs, it isn't there. Now it says there were "no previous programs"....What else can I do? I can't find the original hardware. My computer is a Dell. My model is an Inspiron 560. I got it about 4 yrs. ago.

How to open .docx file from OneDrive on Android?

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 06:14 AM PDT

HI,

I have a number of .docx files saved on One Drive I would like to view on my Android phone, but I can not open any of them.

These files do not have passwords and I have not added any protection to them myself. I don't need to edit them, just view them.

Office Mobile states that it can't open digitally protected files!?!?! Seriously, why?

I have tried using Kingsoft Office which I have added One Drive to, but it keeps asking me for a password? I haven't added a password, what's going on?

Microsoft Word 2013 and Onedrive for Business, Read-Only Mode issue.

Posted: 02 Apr 2015 08:41 PM PDT

Hello,

I am using a Microsoft Surface Pro 3, Windows 8.1, and I have the Onedrive for Business 2013 desktop folder installed on my desktop. Any Word file opened from the Onedrive for Business folder opens as a "Read-Only" file, including ones I created on this computer, which means that I cannot save my files under the same name.

I went into the Onedrive for Business folder and checked the files properties, the read-only box is not checked for any of the files. I just want to be able to save my documents without having to save as something different. What can I do?

Thank you

Replace upper-case acronyms with small caps in MS Word

Posted: 02 Apr 2015 05:35 PM PDT

I have a 200-page MS Word file with several acronyms spread all over the text, and they are all upper-case. I want to replace every acronym with four or more characters with a small caps version of it.

Example:

  • NATO should become ɴᴀᴛo,

but

  • NHS should remain NHS.

Is there any way to do that (semi-)automatically in MS Word 2010?
