Why does "non-commercial use" show up at the top of my screen? Posted: 13 Mar 2008 01:33 PM PDT For some reason, the Student/Teacher registry entries (A whole bunch of them) don't always get removed when a full version of Office is installed, unless you uninstall Student/Teacher first. There are so many entries that finding the responsible entries is the proverbial needle in haystack situation. "JoAnn Paules" <com> wrote in message news:com... upgrade. I |

Can not open setup file to install a genuine downloaded Office 200 Posted: 12 Mar 2008 03:17 PM PDT I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but i can do have an option to compress the file, so i guess that would make it a decompressed file right? Sorry mate that's the best i've got. Also, yesterday i have to uninstall and reinstall Office 07 on the original computer and it all worked fine, which leads me to believe that the setup file is ok? Workaround is to disconnect the system from Terminal Server and THEN install Publisher. After you can open back up the Terminal Server. 1st Publisher 2nd Terminal Server -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. How to install the spelling and grammar tools? Posted: 12 Mar 2008 03:03 AM PDT Hi Jiri, Do you have a localized Czech version of Office 2007 or an English language edition? Are you running an English language Windows version or a localized one? ============ <<"novakj" <com> wrote in message news:com... Dear Bob, Thanks for your answer. Nevertheless, I have the installation CD, where the Czech language correction is available. Unfortunately, I do not know how to install it. I tried in "add and remove software", but did not find the right place. Could you please help me with how to initiate the installation? Posted: 11 Mar 2008 02:03 PM PDT In the past, I've had to call the main Microsoft Corp number a few times for this sort of nonsense. (Usually because a foreign call center was providing the first level "customer support"). Generally, what then happened was that the main number operator? transferred me to someone that was not first level, and when I explained the problem, either provided a solution, or transferred me to someone who did. This generally bypassed the "you gotta give me a credit card number bit". It also occasionally gave me access to patches that were not offered via the conventional manner. It also occasionally gave me the opportunity to explain to marketing and support management that the system was not helping to maintain good customer relations, and some of the multiple automated "choose from these options" were circular in the logic behind the choices and trees. This was back in the days when the MVPs had to "mail bomb" one of the support execs to save the MVP program. The funniest one I ever got into with call centers and computerized systems had nothing to do with Microsoft. Instead, it was an airline reservation system that routed a US "domestic" multi stop flight thru a small city, in of all places, Australia. It was obviously in error, yet would accept a reservation, calculate the ticket total as the least expensive routing, and issue a "domestic" US ticket with stops in Australia. The first couple of calls just proved that others could duplicate the problem. It took two or three calls to higher and higher levels to get the problem resolved. The whole thing ended up resulting in paying half the real fare, and getting a free upgrade to first class. Error Installing Office 2007 on MS Vista Posted: 08 Mar 2008 09:19 AM PST Have you extracted all files ? The setup.exe file likely needs other files from the ISO file as well but they need to be unpacked then first. If you run setup.exe from within IsoBuster then only the actually selected file is unpacked to a temp folder. Best way is to unpack (extract) ALL files and then run setup.exe. example: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/aa718401.aspx |
problem opening excel-word-access (office files in general ) double clicking in Windows Explorer Posted: 05 Mar 2008 11:20 PM PST Hi Fran, Nice to hear that it works fine under another user account. Yes, we can delete and recreate the local profile to test the issue. Before you do it, you can check the steps in my last reply to check if the issue is caused by those items in the specific user profile. If those steps don't fix the issue, recreate the user profile. 1. Log on as a local admin 2. Right click My Computer > choose Properties. In the advanced tab, click settings under user profiles. 3. Highlight the corrupted profile and click delete 4. Create a new user account. If it is a domain user, login back the domain user account. Happy weekend!
