How to Copy Contacts

Posted: 13 Dec 2004 07:13 AM PST

I have another question. Our ISP provides our mail. We use a catch all mail
box at the ISP and my exchange server goes out every 15 min. and pull down
the mail from the catch-all id. Exchange then splits up the mail on the
local machine to each user. How will blackberry work when my client is on
the road? Does it have VPN capabilities to come through my firewall and
sync from the exchange server? Or do I have to set up a separate mailbox for
him at the ISP?

We have a VPN on a Point to Point T1 between the offices. Users do login to
the domain. Direct connection to the Exchange server.

Looking for the best Anti Virus program for Exchange 2003

Posted: 12 Dec 2004 04:48 PM PST

I wouldn't touch Computer Associates with a 30 ft. pole, but that is just
me. :) (Bad experiences with their MAPI based level scanners.)

Is your Exchange server also going to be a file server? The reason that I
ask is that file based antivirus scanners and Exchange tend to not mix. If
the file based scanner does something to any support file used by Exchange,
Exchange services will go 6ft under. Once you dig out, you will find that
you will have to set exclusions. (Hence the reason many say that an
Exchange server shouldn't offer any file/print services.)

I like Mark, have nothing but positive comments about Sybari's Antigen.
Since you are test/demo phase, you might give Trend a shot. Best advise,
use an antivirus/antispam product that is Exchange aware and doesn't use
MAPI based scan technology. (Focus in on ESE or VSAPI 2.5 based solutions.)

Old e-mails repopulating after rebooting Exch 2k3 server

Posted: 11 Dec 2004 02:23 PM PST

This article refers to Exchange 2000 and an M drive. I have Exchange 2003
and do not have an M drive. Does this make a difference? Please clarify.

Thanks

I think I've seen a PSS tool that does this somewhere... This is close:

10 minute delay with autoforwarded messages

Posted: 09 Dec 2004 02:55 PM PST

I understand. This is how the environment was configured when I arrived.
Not sure why they did it this way, and we do have plans to change it in the
future. Still don't understand why we see this delay. As confusing as the
setup is...mail does get delivered...the delay doesn't make any sense.

ADC can't communicate to 2k3 server via port 379! MVP Help!! Anyon

Posted: 09 Dec 2004 01:19 PM PST

Well,

My ADC is on a 2003 AD controller. Exchange 5.5 is on a 2000 member server
and 2003 is on a 2003 member server. There are three servers involved. I
always remember the configuration connection agreements making the connection
to the Exchange 5.5 server. I set my connection agreement up for port 379 (it
is set to my exchange 2003 server) the problem is that it is greyed out and
can't be changed. The ONLY way to do this is to remove the ADC and I don't
think that is a very good idea since I already have some mailboxes on the
2003 server. My event log is getting filled with messages that the AD Config
CA can't communicate to exchange 2k3 (which is not AD, only a member) via
ldap which I assume is trying to get through on port 379 (since that is how
it displays in the CA properties). I can't telnet to the exchange 2k3 member
server on port 379 or 389.

Calendar appointment route to the wrong person

And perhaps this will help?

"Meeting Request Going to Someone Else"

I had the same symptoms in an EX2K3 + OL2K3 environment. I reset all
delegates and verified no rules or auto-forwards (delivery options) were
set. I'm not proud to say I had to finally recreate the mailbox to fix this.

Setting Up Exchange Server.

Posted: 09 Dec 2004 07:39 AM PST

You are talking about Clustering...
For that you need 1 HP DL380 Packade Cluster (or some other cheap shit), 2
Windows 2003 Server Enterprise and 1 Exchange 2003 Server

When you got your cluster hw up and running the rest is a piece of cake.

have Global Address List and Contacts. I need to add in a new contact
which I created in the public folders. Appreciate any tips ... Thanks

I may have misunderstood your question. Are you trying to permit (via
rule or out of office assistant) the exchange server to forward the
message (it received via smtp) to an external entity? If so, go to the
Exchange system manager. Expand global settings and highlight Internet
message format. In the right pane there should be a "default" Right
click it and choose the advanced tab. Look at the checkboxes at the bottom.

Exchange 2003 Books suggestion?

Where do I find NDR?

They are generally sent to the postmaster account (default Exchange
Administrator account). To set another user as the recipient of these
messages add the proxy address 'postmaster@<domain>' to any account. More
transport troubleshooting and enhanced logging information can be found
