How the **** do you get help in a system that you can't navigate, no one responds. You need to go back to the disc that we can buy so that when there is a problem you reload. This version of buying **** off line sucks and is not friendly for those of us who struggle with computers. We were not all raised on computers you know, but your company acts like everyone should be a freaking expert. My office tells me it's busy! really, how am I supposed to complete my homework if I can't use the program I paid money for????? any suggestions. Can't get help from Microsoft because they are too busy.

Office

Hello, so I was using Microsoft office word on my laptop just now. I walked away for a minute and then came back only to find that the program froze. Not knowing what else to do I shut down my laptop and started it again. Only now the program won't work, it says something went wrong, it couldn't start my program, it's telling me to try again (which I have) and it says if that doesn't work to try repairing office from programs and features in the control panel which I tried and nothing happened. I have an HP laptop. Help?

How to get Word to stop inserting guillemets

Posted: 21 Dec 2013 09:14 PM PST

All of a sudden, when I hit Shft+" (quotation mark), in Word, I get the guillemets--those sideways double arrows. I'm pretty sure I just did something on my keyboard to trigger this, b/c a few minutes before I first noticed this, I hit some keys that took the cursor off the doc I was typing in, so I had to click to get back into the document.

My only keyboard languages are English and Greek, and the characters are definitely the Roman alphabet, so I'm not using the Greek keyboard. What do I do now?

microsoft, please buy EndNote (the company), intrgrate it to word, especially the RT version that doesn't allow macros

Posted: 21 Dec 2013 05:30 PM PST

Surface RT / 2 can't use macros in Word.
Endnote is needed for academics.

The only solution (without allowing a desktop plugin / macros on ARM versions of windows) is for Microsoft to buy endnote the company and integrate the reference manger in to word without using macros. Then make sure it works with office RT.

Does anyone else have any better ideas?

How are tablets with ARM processors supposed to take off in academics without reference managers like EndNote working??

The only other major things preventing this tablets adoption in academics is better mechanical stylus recognition in one note and one note not allowing audio recording at the same time as note taking for syncing notes.

Please pass this up the ladder as it is obviously upper end decisions that will decide these major changes.

I finally copied the cab files from the CD to the MSOCache directory.

How to Remove Office 2003

Rather than uninstall and reinstall (which seldom fixes any problems) try
this:

For Outlook, create a new mail profile under Control Panl->Mail
Icon->Profiles.
For the SP 2 problem, use the FullFile rather than the smaller download.

Perhaps, don't care. Some people like webmin (www.webmin.com), to

in the long run it beats the hell out of any GUI, allowing to do

with linux mdadm software raid it's possible to have raid1, raid5 and raid0

As an example, consider a triple-disk arrangement with /boot or root

Task Definitions Microsoft Project

Task Definitions

Posted: 22 Feb 2005 06:01 AM PST

A couple of things to know about.

First of all, note the basic equation Project always follows W=U*D, Work
equals Units times Duration. This is always - always - going to be true.
32 man-hours Work = 32 hours Duration * 100% Units or it could also be 64
hours Duration * 50% Units or some other combination.

Second, if you assign 2 resources to a task at 30% and 70% respectively, it
does NOT mean that they are splitting the work 30/70. 30% means that 30% of
the time the resource is spending on the task is converted to useful work.
If the task duration was 3 days, 24 hours, and you assign a resource to it
at 30%, his attention is divided between the task at hand and other things
and so he will do 8 man-hours of work on this particular task over a three
day period. In other words, he will get done in 3 days what he COULD have
done in 1 day if he didn't have any distractions.

Third, the task type determines what happens when you EDIT resource
assignments that have already been made. I have Joe assigned 100% to a task
that takes 5 days, 40 hours. Becuase he's assigned 100%, the work he's
producing is also 40 man-hours. But never ever forget that hours of work
and hours of duration are two completely different, albeit related,
critters. I now edit his assignment, changing the Units to 50%. I could be
doing that for a couple of reasons. One is that it is really a 20 man-hour
task but I don't need it done any sooner than Friday so I'll let him work on
it at his leisure over the 5 days duration. Makes the task Fixed Duration,
change the assignment, and Project recalculates Work. Or it could be that
this task really does require 40 man-hours of work but I have some other
priorities and prefer Joe to work 4 hours a day on this task and 4 hours a
day on something else. I make the task Fixed Work, edit the assignment, and
Project recalculates the Duration to be 10 days - it'll take him longer to
get the work done but my other priorities dictate I'll just have to live
with it.

So to your example. Before going further the first question to ask is what
do you mean by it being a 32 hour task, if it's work how do you KNOW it's a
32 man-hour task and where did you enter that fact into Project? When you
want to split the work between the two resources do you want one guy to work
on it for a while and then the other take over or do you want them to work
together until the first guy finishes his part of the work and then the
other works on alone or do you want the 70% guy to work full speed while the
other works part of each day along with him, or just what are you looking
for in the schedule? It's possible to do all of those things but you have
to decide first where you want to end up. In other words, 32 man-hours
split 70/30 isn't enough information to set up the scenario.

Pretty much to make your life easier, you should make all of your calendar
changes to the "change working time" dialog. Remember, there are possibly 3
calendars that can affect the scheduling of your task, the task calendar if
you give it a specific one (if not it defaults to the standard calendar), a
resource calendar if you have resources assigned to your task, and the
project calendar.

have virtually no experience & very little information, so I'd suggest you
contact MS Support for the best answer.

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/contactus.mspx

My guess [FWIW] is...

What you downloaded is a disk image (.dmg) which you can copy from one
system to another & install on each based on the different Product Keys that
were sent to you. IOW, it isn't 3 separate downloads from the Digital River
site. If you elected the option for the $12.95 DVD you'll also be able to
install from it once it arrives.

If you didn't order the DVD & have deleted the .dmg I don't know what you
may have to do to receive another. Again, MS Support can help on that.

You might also check in any supporting filed (such as ReadMe) that were
included in the download for further instructions.

Your friend could have downloaded Office from the net and the keys you are
using are illegal. Regardless you need the DVD to do a re-install.

Product key for new installation

Posted: 19 Aug 2009 03:28 AM PDT

P.S. -- With the Home & Student Edition there should be 3 separate stickers,
each Key representing a separate License. Use whichever of the 3 you wish,
but it's a good idea to make a notation somewhere as to which one you use.
If you use the same Key on different networked Macs you can't run any Office
programs on the one while any Office programs are running on the other if
the same Key was used for both installs.

I usually identify each key as A, B, C & use a sticky note indicating which
Key was used on which systems. Put the sticky on the envelope along with the
Keys & keep the disk in the sleeve in a safe place. It not only helps avoid
conflicting installs but also makes it easier to reuse the right Key if you
ever have to re-install Office.

Office Apps won't open, give error msgs, then freeze

Posted: 18 Aug 2009 10:29 PM PDT

Did this start immediately after an Office update?

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it¹s your User¹s folder that contains the problem.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test Office there.

OWA logo does not appear

Posted: 08 Nov 2005 11:58 PM PST

Hi,
Sorry, it's not only the employer, but employees are all affected. Accessing
OWA in office and home gives the same result.

We had tried creating a test account to login to OWA in office as well as
home, yet it still gives the same crossed icon.

When I login to my OWA, I will see a logon page, after I login; I can see my
inbox as per normal. But on the top left hand corner where the OWA logon is
supposed to show, is displaying a crossed icon instead.

Is there any way I can send you an attachment of my print screen?

I looked to see what rendom is.
We do not want to rename the domain.
Although it still needs to be changed for political reasons.

We are starting a new/clean domain because the old one is hosed/flakey from
the last admin. We have two new 2003 domain controllers in native mode on
the newcompany.com domain. no accounts(well, maybe a couple).
We also have a new server with win2003/exchange 2003 loaded.

I wish microsoft made the cross-forest migration easier.
Linking exchange servers, GAL's from different forests if they are trusted.
This stuff happens alot.

Change Message-ID portion of outgoing emails?

Ehhh...If someone were worried about that they could then change it to be
<junk>@exchange1.company.com so it's still externally resolveable and still
tells them what server processed it. I just don't like the idea that
external people can see the name of our internal domain, that's one less
piece of information they need to hack the network.

SMTP address.

Posted: 04 Nov 2005 12:18 PM PST

Excuse me, but i probably have bad related the problem. I have changed the
primary SMTP address only for one user, to make a test, so when this user
send e-mail to internet the postmaster can verify it because it can be
resolved over internet. After doing this the outgoing post work properly both
internet/intranet whit both address. The ingoing e-mail work properly in
intranet (exchanging messages whit other intranet user works fine). The
problem is whit the POP3 connector tha download the internet post from my
ISP. The connector works properly, but if the primary address is the to the
one that works correctly for internet ( suffix .it) the message are not
forwarded to the post box. If i change back the primary address to the one
whit .local suffix it works.

Don't bother importing the messages - just leave them in the PST file.
They're just for reference, right? Probably a lot of them are going to be
disposed of anyhow?

You can drag/drop specific mails or folders into the default folders of the
Supervisor's mailbox or you could create custom folders in the Supers box
and copy to those if you really wanted to.

I don't like using PST as primary data store, but for archive or just to
stow messages for reference it's o.k.
