Posted: 01 Mar 2004 07:04 AM PST You can change a setting in the web.config file that will prevent the IE buttons from being hidden. However, this will probably cause confusion for your users as there will be 2 sets of menus & toolbars. If you really need to change the font sizes, you should be able to do this by modifying the CSS for the app. Otherwise, you'll need to make changes to the underlying XSLT files which would be a pain and would need to be replicated everytime you published form changes. Is it possible to add a lookup field to the schema? Posted: 01 Mar 2004 12:49 AM PST No, you can't add your own lookup fields (at least not without hacking it into the metabase). Can't remove license from user Posted: 27 Feb 2004 09:01 PM PST it worked by following a previous post to delete the user through an sql query command Thanks. |
Posted: 27 Feb 2004 01:38 PM PST You could just go into the DB and manually remove the license from the user. Not supported, but it's a lot easier than re-installing :) Mike greaterthantwo media Printable Quotes, Orders and Invoices, with line-item details, now available for MSCRM. http://www.greaterthantwo.com "Jeff" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3cca01c3fdb8$5987d5f0$gbl... |
Create an organization tree that can be looked up. Posted: 27 Feb 2004 11:54 AM PST Thanks, Dave On the opportunity form, on the Customer/Department field, when I want to select a Sub-Account, I can't - only the Accounts show up. That is where I'm stuck Thanks. |
Can Sales Outlook Client be accessed from Internet? Posted: 27 Feb 2004 09:57 AM PST Yes, that works for the accessing the web client, but you need to do a lot more to allow access for the Outlook client. If you open enough ports (read security hole) then you could expose Outlook as well, but I would NOT recommend this. Posted: 27 Feb 2004 08:59 AM PST Dean, When you install CRM, the user you are currently logged in as is automatically added as a user in CRM. However, it is NOT assigned a license. If you go into the web app and into the system settings, you should be able to find this user in the root business unit and then assign it a license and appropriate roles (though it should alread have sys admin). Matt On Fri, 27 Feb 2004 11:12:24 -0800, <com> wrote: Thank you for your help. Yes, I get this error. "User 1 ( *my user name* ) failed : This user already exists in the system. Try creating a different user." However, I made a new user, gave it sys admin and gave it a license. If I log into that account, I can run the CRM programs. Go figure! One more quick question... I believe CRM 1.2 can integrate between Exchange server and the clients can use Outlook to access all the CRM functions. Am I correct? If this CRM can work with Exchange and Outlook, where can I read about how to do it? Thank you in advance. CRM License? details, now available do as the theat that |

Posted: 27 Feb 2004 07:15 AM PST Yes, multi-select boxes would be nice. (And I think I read some ISV had it.) But, I think you'll find that booleans are not a bad way to go here. The problem with multi-select is that it is hard to extract data from. (The best storage model appears to be using bitmasks, but that is tough to query on too.) You can sell it to users by saying that if you implement as booleans, then you can easily write an Advanced Find query to "show me everybody who needs SQL Server and VB.NET". If you just create a new section or a new tab on an opportunity form, slap half a dozen booleans in it, the users will be fine with it. In fact, most users prefer multiple booleans to a list box. It is usually faster to click a bunch of buttons that are in your face, rather than pore through a list of choices, holding down the ctrl key to click, etc. Another way to look at it: Do you want to know anything else about their need? In other words, make EACH of them a pick list, and have values like "Must have, Nice to have, Not important", etc., which would allow you to retain more information about the need. Finally, if this is going to turn into some kind of sale of these products, you could add each one they were interested in as an opportunity product. (Although that is a very ugly part of the GUI.) Posted: 26 Feb 2004 04:43 PM PST You need to set your IIS to host your CRM on port 80, IP have to be set "all unassigned" to make the user manager work. I reinstalled my SQL and CRM, now everything works. Make sure all your SQL server related services starts with a "Domain user account", Not the "local machine", Microsoft suggest you to create a user with special permission for this. You can find more information on the SQL books online. Also if you running SBS 2003, because you running asp.net 1.1, and your CRM is 1.0. You need to add "validaterequest = "off" " under the pages setting in the web.config file. JScript to clear value of Drop Down Field Posted: 26 Feb 2004 09:12 AM PST Sorry, nothing else off the top of my head. You could always re-write the HTML for the entire control by using JS to access the DOM. It's messy, but I've had to do it before when I couldn't get JS to do what it's supposed to do.
