Thai letters on MS Word on iPhone Posted: 05 Oct 2014 10:36 AM PDT Hello all :)) I use on my iPhone 5S applications Office Mobile and OneDrive for editing mostly Word file. Everything is working well until I work with Thai alphabet and it's letter, rectangles are showed instead. Even I am not Thai, I need to work with it and this issue is limiting and annoying. I expect high level from Microsoft products. This makes me very dissapointed. Maybe it's my fault, I do something wrong. Therefore I would like to ask whether can I solve this, if so >> HOW? If I cannot do anything, is any update incoming soon? Is Microsoft dealing with it right now? Why it is not working well? Moreover I wonder, why are emoticons working and regular language used by milions of people not? Thank you for any detailed reply and I'd like to appologise for wrong format of my question and also many mistakes, my English is poor ;(( I send this picture to describe my problem clearly. |
Microsoft Office Word 2010 Program File Lost? Posted: 05 Oct 2014 10:35 AM PDT I have the 2010 version of the Home and Student Microsoft Office. The Microsoft Word can only be opened through the shortcut created (pinned to the taskbar), as the actual program file appears to be missing. I haven't found it through a search at all, and it is not saved as a file in the same place as Excel and Powerpoint. Is there a way to get the program file back from the shortcut? To clarify, I can use Word 2010, but it is only available as a shortcut, not an actual program/application. |
Some HTML links do NOT work in MS Word Posted: 05 Oct 2014 10:31 AM PDT I am using MS Word 2003 on a Win 7 64 bit system. I created a word document, and added many HTML links to it. Many work, several do not. The following is an example of a link that works directly - paste in any browser and it works, but NOT from my MS Word 2003 document. When I click on this in my document, I get a dialog saying "Unable to open ....the internet site reports that item you requested could not be found. (HTTP/1.0 404)" What might be the problem ??? |
How do I set Word 2007 as the default for word (.docx, .doc) files instead of Word 2013? Posted: 05 Oct 2014 10:18 AM PDT I have Word 2007 and Word 2013 installed on my desktop computer. I would like Word 2007 to launch when I click on Word (.doc, .docx) documents in Windows Explorer, rather than Word 2013. I am running Windows 7 SP1 with the latest updates. (I want Word 2007 as the default because in Word 2013 the fonts are not displayed with ClearType and are uncomfortable to read - I have tried all the offered workarounds but they do not work for me. The problem has been widely discussed in many forums - eg: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/blurry-text-in-windows-8/ed053d17-b525-4e09-bdbc-de91114d975c? ) I have tried setting Word 2007 as the default without success. I have tried two methods: 1 - right-clicking on a Word (2013) file icon in Windows Explorer and selecting Open With... and then Choose Default Program. I am only offered the choice of Word 2013 and when I browse to the location of Word 2007, it ignores my choice (perhaps because they are both called winword.exe) 2 - in Control Panel I have gone to Default Programs. Word 2013 is shown but not Word 2007. When I click on Word 2013 it only allows me to select the file types it can open (eg .docx) - it does not let me deselect them. I suspect I may have to change some setting in the registry. Can anyone advise a fix? Many thanks |
Microsoft Word 2013 doesn't work offline Posted: 05 Oct 2014 08:54 AM PDT After confirming my Microsoft account with my email to use Microsoft word 2013, every time I open it again, it asks for my account info again like it didn't get it the first time. Microsoft word 2013 will not work offline either, even if the file has been saved on my local drive and not online. It won't open at all and tells me I'm not connected to a server. Why should that matter if it's a local file? Does it surreptiously save the file on their cloud without the user's consent? I tried to get tech support and they wanted to charge me either $99 or $149, dependent upon which package I chose to go with it. Of course I declined this amazing bargain for help on something that should be free. Does anyone else have this problem? And what did you do? |
Posted: 05 Oct 2014 07:57 AM PDT help with Macro (save a file with same content but increment filename by 1 each time, up to say filename30, then stop). This is because an upload platform needs a unique filename of a master table (invoicing) the macro i have (which fails) is: Sub SaveIncrementedFilename() |
"This modification is not allowed because this selection is locked" In Word 2010 Posted: 05 Oct 2014 06:54 AM PDT When ever I try to use the checklist feature, all it says is "this modification is not allowed because this selection is locked" when I try to type anything in. It is a new document that I did not download form anywhere. Here is the screen shot:

Can't open Excel or Word e-mail attachments Posted: 05 Oct 2014 06:04 AM PDT Split from this thread. I have this issue with not being able to open excel or word within Outlook. Even if I save the files to my desktop or documents, they will never open if originating in Outlook thru an email send. I've gone to Trust Center settings and all is checked. When trying to open, it says "opening in protected view" and never opens. This is a huge issue and of course, hp (my new computer vendor) won't help |
How do I delete a question and answer that was accidentally repeated by mistake? Posted: 04 Oct 2014 11:36 PM PDT I posted a reply which momentarily disappeared from the screen. After I reentered the information, the original reappeared and now both are there and it looks really dumb. How do we delete the one and keep the other? |
How to activate office student 2013? Posted: 04 Oct 2014 09:13 PM PDT So I have office on my computer (new computer, just got office) and the Geek Squad at best buy installed it, but apparently its not activated. I've tried activating it and i'm signed in on the home page of whatever it is when you click office, but it still won't activate. Any help? Thank you! PS I think I have Windows 8 but im not sure. And it won't let me type or change the font or size on word. Also I have office powerpoint and exel and still need to activate them. |
Typing delay in Word - not about the animation Posted: 04 Oct 2014 08:28 PM PDT Hi, Since I upgraded to Office 365 I've been experiencing a never-seen-before lag while typing on Word. I've used every version since Office 95. I use AutoHotKey to speed up my typing but, still, there shouldn't be any noticeable delay. I searched a bit and found that registry tweak to disable Word 2013's typing animation, but that's not all. It's like I'm running on Pentium II with 32MB of RAM. It's also not about the zoom level. I also tried running Word on safe mode, but no luck. Typing in the notepad should not be THAT faster. And I'm talking about blank documents, not ongoing big ones. What can I do to streamline my typing experience in Word? My Setup: Processor: Intel Core i5 3450 @3.1GHz MoBo: Gigabyte Z77M-D3H Memory: 8192MB DDR3 Corsair 1333MHz VGA: Saphire ATI Radeon HD 7770 1024MB 128 bits @1920x1080 OS: Windows 8.1 Pro |
