I need outlook 2003 on my Exchange server 2003 Posted: 28 Jan 2006 03:33 PM PST "Andy David - [MVP]" <com> a écrit dans le message de news: com... hello Thank you for answering so quickly It is on an SBS2003 server SP1, and only three users (with only one login name) need to connect via TSE (not at the same time). The account just belongs to the remote operator groups (I know it's on the server, but it works, and I used GPO to block nearly everything). This account will just be able to use outlook and ms office to send emails (quite oftenly). I can't use outlook via internet (rpc over https) because they use several computers from several sites. OWA is not easy when sending emails to several contacts or distribution lists (I even didn't find how to create, modify or simply use a distribution list in OWA !). And buying a new server just for doing this would be too luxuous... Of course, I'm ready to listen to any other solution I wouldn't have seen... Thank you in advance JDB |

MX Records for a Exchange Server 2003 Posted: 26 Jan 2006 05:14 PM PST What would you suggest me to do to keep all staff member email address close to what we have currently with our hosting company? Can I change this when creating a mail box? Our just modifying the alias field would work? Please advise example (hosting company): org example (Exchange Server): org -- Jermaine Wells Network Administrator "JWells" wrote: |
Posted: 26 Jan 2006 01:27 PM PST Hey Seth, Thanks for responding. I think the problem was resolved by rebooting the exchange server (doh!). All of the stuck mail seems to have been delivered. I'm continuing to monitor it though as I have no idea why a few Domains were getting stuck in the queue in the first place. I didn't receive any error messages and only turned up the logging on the SMTP vs this morning. I did send mail through telnet last night successfully to the stuck domains. I'm just a little "jittery" as this is a brand new Exchange box (GroupWise, which was our previous mail server, just worked like it should for years without these kinds of "anomalies"). My boss isn't a big Microsoft fan and screams when these sort of things occur so I get a little panicky when I can't figure out the problem in a few hours. Like I said, I still don't know why this occured and I hate to say it's a Microsoft thing. I like to have a solid answer... I will post back if the issue reoccurs. Thanks you for your time. Transaction logs backup and utilities Posted: 26 Jan 2006 04:46 AM PST It sounds like arcserve hung in the middle of a backup at some point. The problem now is that you are in a state where logs can't be commited. If you get up to 1008 uncommited logs(Database - Log generation checkpoint depth counter), your stores will dismount. You need to restart the IS to get things right again. Of course, when you do, all those pending logs will be processed and it can take a while for the service to start. Mail Enabled users vs Mail enabled contacts. Posted: 25 Jan 2006 10:09 AM PST Christi, If you need to cross-post to multiple newsgroups, you can have follow-ups automatically redirected to one ng. (If using Outlook Express as your newsreader, when composing post go to View | All Headers to reveal the "Followup-to" field). -- Bharat Suneja MCSE, MCT www.zenprise.com blog: www.suneja.com/blog ----------------------------------------- "Christi" <gibraltardesign.com> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... |
Is it possible to opt out of the SMTP virtual server for some users but not others? Posted: 25 Jan 2006 09:02 AM PST If this is for internal users to not be able to send email, simply enable the sender filter on the SMTP Virtual and then add the user that is not allowed to send. Create users Exchange2k3 / Win2k3 / No admin rights Posted: 25 Jan 2006 04:47 AM PST The minimum level of exchange permissions necessary to create a user is "view only admin". In AD, to create a user you would as least need the required permissions to create an object. This could be done through delegated administration I suppose. You might be able to muck around with individual rights, but I doubts that would be supported. I guess the short answer is "NO". You can't write if you don't have the rights. This is by design. ActiveSync does not see Exchange public folders Posted: 24 Jan 2006 02:53 PM PST Afaik, none of the mobile platforms do it - Blackberry Ent Srv, Good, etc. It's not simply a limitation someone decided to impose - more of an architectural issue, imo. -- Bharat Suneja MCSE, MCT www.zenprise.com blog: www.suneja.com/blog ----------------------------------------- "Graham J" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |
