How can I set up Office with XP so all users may access it? Posted: 14 Feb 2005 09:11 PM PST THANK YOU! I did it and now I'm back in business. I'm used to the clicking and dragging from Windows 98. Guess I can't do that with XP. Thanks again!! Jodi "chris" wrote: |
New computer Office 2003 install Posted: 14 Feb 2005 02:55 PM PST just another guess, but since this is a trial version on an oem installation it may work. If you end up needing the original installation media which you are entitled to, call you system manufacturer and demand the recover disk(s). You should do this anyway since your original installation of Office would be based on the trial conversion if it works. You would need these disk(s) again if your drive ever crashes and you need to reinstall after the warranty period. Posted: 12 Feb 2005 06:34 PM PST No, you understand the article. The problem is, the article wasn't written with Microsoft Volume License CDs in mind. Your step #1 is "setuppro.exe /a". "Calvin Lai" <ca> wrote in message news:google.com... |
Posted: 12 Feb 2005 11:09 AM PST The computer is brand new; it came with Windows XP SP2 installed. I've been to Microsoft's update page and have installed all the recommended updates. There are no office products, XP or otherwise, currently installed. "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: |
Administrative Installation of Office 2000 Pro Problems in a locked down environment Posted: 11 Feb 2005 02:25 PM PST Thanks Bob. It took awhile to find the document as it is no longer where the link points to in the page you gave me. A brute force find on the title found it in http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/office/office2000/maintain/operate/travwppr.mspx Dave Fritz "Bob Buckland ?:-)" <75214.226(At Beautiful Downtown)compuserve.com> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... news:%23a%phx.gbl... file ORK's 2000 (users includes |
Problem deploying Network Step by Step Interactive Training progra Posted: 11 Feb 2005 12:05 PM PST STill need help with this if anyone is reading. |
Posted: 11 Feb 2005 11:43 AM PST As an enterprise customer you may be able to acquire and use the OEM/system builder tools. My understanding is that the ability to force the CD key request through the Office Resource Kit tools was removed with Office 2003. You might be able to modify a reg key prior to finalizing the CD so that it would prompt for a key as a workaround, but you may want to speak with the MS volume license folks on this as well. ========== news:com... I do have an enterprise key. its just that I want to create an updated cd for those in my field offices that need them on their laptops and are not connected to our office(dial up is a pain), but I also do not want them going install happy with the cd either. Since we use pcAnywhere to connect remotely we can insert the key ourselves but updating office thru dialup is a pain. So basically there is no way that my company (we are not OEM) can create a Office 2003 SP1 CD for our users without also giving them the key that would be integrated if i start this as an admin install? I pray that there has to be a way. >> -- Let us know if this helped you, Bob Buckland ?:-) MS Office System Products MVP *Courtesy is not expensive and can pay big dividends* Office 2003 Editions explained http://www.microsoft.com/uk/office/editions.mspx |
