Can I set the icon for a VBA macro added to quick access toolbar Posted: 27 Jan 2013 02:00 AM PST I have a miniature Word VBA app that has 6 functions. I can add all of them to the quick access toolbar but they all have the same icon. Can I set a different icon for each one? Or is there a better way? I have been using keyboard shortcuts up to now, but found I have clumsy and error-prone fingers, so I want to try the toolbar way. |
Posted: 26 Jan 2013 11:53 PM PST Can anyone tell me how to turn on Autotext hover help in Word 2010? When you type m-o-n-d a little yellow box appears to indicate you can have the computer type Monday for you. All autotext entries used to do this, which reminded you they existed; now they don't, and you only get reminders for days of the week and other obvious ones you could probably do without. |
how do I keep text from moving when I add new text above it? Posted: 26 Jan 2013 07:57 PM PST I've been compiling some old text files and I wish to add to them.
The files contain a lot of text and tables, so page layout is essential. However, as I add in new text in upper pages, the lower ones shift (line by line) to accomodate the new lines being generated; I would like to keep the layout the way it is, not keep readjusting every time I add new material.
The pages have headers which are hyperlinked from the table of contents. I'm certain a page or section break before each of these headers (or something similar) should keep those headers at the top of their respective pages, no matter how much text I add above them; for the life of me, I've forgotten how.
Advice? |

how can I converse with someone via email. Posted: 26 Jan 2013 02:01 PM PST I have been using Word 07 and just upgraded to Word 10. I like Word because I was able to translated from English to German. I just do not understand the translation format in my new version. Can you please advise me (in a simple way) how I can add German to my translation options. I just do not understand it.
Thanks, Xan
FYI...I'm not dumb...I'm just old so communicating via email is the best for me. I am also a Mrs....not a Mr. :>] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2013 09:45 AM PST I want to use TEXT not icons to identify macros in my customised ribbon. I frequently type in French and having accented characters available in a permanently displayed customised macro ribbon makes a lot of sense; adding icons to "symbolise" à or é doesn't; but whilst I can easily have an icon without text, I can't see how I can have text without an icon.
Can anyone else? I am no techie! |

Am I right in thinking that at any one time there can only be one template attached to a document?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

VBA Word - Trim trailing white space from a Range.FormattedText Posted: 26 Jan 2013 12:23 AM PST I have a macro which does almost all of what I want, except that the text it generates may have unwanted trailing white space. I am using Range.FormatedText to preserve italics, bold, etc, and I can't work out how RTrim() a Range.FormattedText. Help would be gratefully received. c |
I need the 1st page to be on right hand side Posted: 25 Jan 2013 03:44 PM PST In Word 2010, my document of 29 pages with mirror margins needs to have the first page start on the right-hand side. The document has 1 continuous section break between the front matter and the body in order to change page numbering in the footer from i,ii,iii,iv to 1,2,3,4. I produce a document with that layout every 3 months and the first page has always begun on the right-hand side, until now. I have compared every setting in layout, footer settings, margin settings, breaks, etc between the current document and a previously created one and can find no differences between them nor can I find any reason for this behavior. I have not changed the document layout; in fact, when I begin a new issue, I use a previous issue to begin so all the layout settings I worked so long to perfect would be there. I keep 'view all formatting marks' on also until the document is completed. There are no unwanted section breaks of any kind hiding in it. I am completely stumped with this. For some unknown reason something in the software has changed. There have been 6 Office 2010 updates installed since I last produced this document. I even ran the 'repair' process on my Office 2010 Home and Student installation. No change. What am I missing here? I need this layout to work correctly, the document has to go to the printer and I don't have time for this. Thanks, Sharon |
Microsoft word starter 2010 cannot be opened also Microsoft excel starter 2010 cannot be opened Posted: 25 Jan 2013 02:49 PM PST This is the message that comes up. "Microsoft word starter 2010 cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in control panel " I tried to open a full version on work 2003. Problem started right after. I loooked in the control panel but cannot figure out were there is a fix that I need, a lot of other stuff but nothing that jumps out. This is a fairly new computer HP running windows 7. I am not PC savy, I've always used Macs up till now. With a Mac I could just toss the preferences, but don't know how or if you can do this with a PC. I've tried running Norton with no luck fixing problem. Don't know what to do or were to go on the computer to do a fix. Can someone please help? Thanks D |
