Office 2007/B2 Group Policy Installation

I've read that information in the resource kit but it is very sparse and does
not work (at least for me).

Sometimes it is the best, although least fun, option.

How do I completely unistall Office 2007 Beta 2?

Posted: 31 May 2006 09:09 PM PDT

I am having EXACTLY the same problem with beta 2. Guess what? The bug will
put the kabosh on all of the other beta installs as well. Visio Beta2 will
not install right after entering the code key. If you look in the install
log (it's C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local
Settings\Temp\SetupExe(xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).log file ti will tell you where the
hang was. Post the text of that code here and I will compare it with what I
have to see if we are having the same problem...

Does any one at M$ have a clue the most servers that people use are 32bit
not 64bit. Does anyone know if M$ is going to release a 32 bit version of
Groove? If they aren't they just lost my money.>>

After Automated install apps run wrong

Posted: 31 May 2006 10:46 AM PDT

Yes but it keeps trying to initalize the profile each time you open each app.

But I think I found the fix...
So far worked on 3 systems.
I installed Office SP2 then I use the profile wizard to import the settigs
from my pc. The apps do the normal first time initialization and then run
normal after that.

Going to attack the remaing to day one by one and see.

product key incorrect

Posted: 31 May 2006 07:46 AM PDT

Hi,

If the product key you are entering is correct, try running a search for the
file 'data.dat' and delete it. Restart the computer and try installing Office
again.

Thanks,

Mittu

Blue Screen error and system hang after installing Office 12

Posted: 30 May 2006 02:53 PM PDT

Hi Bob,
I'll answer inline

Specs are= Chaintech CT-9PJL2 motherboard with Intel 865PE+ICH5 chipset
that supports Hyper-Threading, with onboard
5.1 channel audio, RTL8100c 10/100Mb fast ethernet
controller.
Intel socket 478 with 2.4 ghz P4 800Mhz fsb, 512mb
of PC3200 ultra memory.
Geforce 5700LE agp video card with 256 mb of memory.
80gb Hitachi/IBM Deskstar PATA harddrive as master
on the primary IDE and the same type drive
on the secondary IDE bus as slave, with a Benq DVD
burner as master.
I'm using Windows XP Home Edition, US english, with
SP2, and all the updates installed. This particular install is about 1 year
old.

I cannot copy and paste from my event viewer, but
the only event that pertains to Office 12 is the one I received when I first
installed
Office 2007, and that was for the registration that
failed many times but finally did register.

No, no error messages, and as I said, once the blue
screen came up my machine locked up, so I doubt it had a chance to dump any
info to Microsoft.

I have Microsoft Location Finder running with
Microsoft AntiSpyware, Picasa 2, Ouick Time, Winzip Quick Pick all runnig at
boot up.
I do not have any anti virus installed.

My computer did crash once more after I uninstalled Office, and that
happened while I was defragging the hard drive, but it didn't go into a blue
screen, it just rebooted while defragging.
Since then I have successfully defragged the hard drive and have been using
the computer for well over 16 hours without a hitch.
I'm going to do a clean install of XP on another hard drive and then install
Office 12 as well and we'll see if I have the same problems.
As a side note, I thought my hard drive was going bad because of the
crashes, so I ran some diagnostics on the drive in question and it passed
with flying colors, so I'm really stumped as to why Office is crashing my
computer.

sandsman

Customizing Office 2003 Settings

Posted: 30 May 2006 07:30 AM PDT

Hello Tom,

I truly understand your concern about this issue. However, I have searched
both internal and external knowledge base but failed to find any useful
information to your specific requirements.

For example, "Track Changes" settings are stored in the following registry
key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\W ord\Options

However, there is no such a tool to determine which exact key controls
which exact setting in "Track Changes".

For more general information about Word options and where they are stored,
I recommend you refer to the following article:

822005 How to reset user options and registry settings in Microsoft Office
Word 2003, Microsoft Word 2002, and Microsoft Word 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=822005

Due to the limitation of resources and troubleshooting means in the managed
newsgroups, recommend you directly contact CSS or Advisory Services to get
more qualified assistance for your specific requirements, as they are
really out of our support ability.

You kindly understanding is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ada Pan

Missing ESETUPUI.DLL when istalling Office 2007 B2

Posted: 29 May 2006 01:19 PM PDT

Hello Bob,

thank you for your reply. I expected more responses to appear shortly after
I posted my plea but so far you are the only one. It seems like my situation
is very unique. Yes, it is indeed esetupui.dll with E and not O. I have the
Windows Installer 3.1 installed. I will try to analyze the log file as you
suggested. The problem is very mystifying. If you get any other idea on how
to resolve the issue, please let me know. Thank you.

everything and now i no longer have speech recognition on my computer. it
seemed to go away just when i upgraded to the office 07 beta. I've looked
all over and can't seem to find a way to redownload this functionality.

is it not included in XP Home. SP2??

Where can i find this so i can try it out with Office 07 beta?
