Suppress "Page break before" at head of document Posted: 27 Nov 2012 06:45 AM PST I'm currently formatting a document in which the "heading 1" style has the "page break before" paragraph option set. Currently, the document does not have a title page, and the first text in the document is the first section header. Unfortunately, Word seems to be creating a page break before the header, despite the fact that it's the first page in the document; essentially, I have a blank page at the first page, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Any ideas on how to suppress the page break for the first header in the document? I thought about making a second style, "heading 1 (first page)" which inherits from Heading 1, but I'd rather not as that's pretty kludgy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

How do I setup, one. global folder, to contain all of the ".wbk" files of MS Office Word 2007? Posted: 27 Nov 2012 04:11 AM PST 11-27-12 I don't see any word option settings that would do this. So how do configure word to use one global folder for all .wbk files. Some registry settings?? Anybody Know? Thank you for time. *** Email address is removed for privacy *** |

Functional Check Boxes in both 2010 and 2007 Posted: 26 Nov 2012 06:33 AM PST I am trying to create a protected document in Word 2010 with check boxes so that recipients can only tab to selected text fields and check boxes....that seems to work fine. However, when I emailed it to someone with 2007, the check boxes did not work and could not be checked...in fact, the curser is moved to left of the check-box and pressing TAB just moves the check box to the next tab spot...not very useful. Is there a way to create a document with check boxes that can be protected and is functional in both 2010 and 2007? Cheers

Multi-key shortcuts only register when typed slowly Posted: 26 Nov 2012 03:14 AM PST In Office 2010 and later, if I try and use a shortcut that requires multiple alphabets, I find that office is slow to respond. Example In Microsoft Word, the shortcut key to open the document map is Alt+V+D. If I use these keys quickly, Microsoft Word does not recognize the fact that I pressed the D. The only way this works is if I press Alt+V+(wait a second)+D. This issue seems to exist for all Office products, not just Word. Are there any ways to get around this issue? Also, is this issue being investigated in later versions of Microsoft Office? |
Not all changes tracked word 2010 Posted: 25 Nov 2012 11:03 AM PST I have a reviewing pane on the right side of the document. I have track changes on, (Icon has a sun in upper left). show markup has everything checked. Balloon has "show revisions in balloons". checked. The view is "print layout" If I insert a comment it appears in the reviewing pane. If I highlight, or insert a comma, or delete a word, nothing appears in the reviewing pane. |
