Trusted for delegation -> Catastrohpic Failure of MSCRM Posted: 14 Jul 2004 02:58 AM PDT Thank you for your reply However unfortunately it is not just the aspx page which fails, it is the whole MSCRM application (hence the stress!) Seems to have been caused by setting Trusted for delegation in AD "Monika" wrote: |
SFO Client without local database Posted: 14 Jul 2004 02:35 AM PDT Hi Peter, what I want is that no data is stored in the MSDE database (for security reasons, no sensitive data should get out of the office). It would be nice if the Contact/Appointment Sync would work but if that feature depends on the offline data, data security is more important. How can I do this? Is there a limit on the number of entries for a picklist? Posted: 13 Jul 2004 08:55 PM PDT thanks for your assistance, not many, just that client wanted to know. regards, Kyaw "John O'Donnell" <com-nospam> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... |
Add existing contacts to account Posted: 13 Jul 2004 07:50 PM PDT CRM out of the box does not support many to many relationships between contacts and accounts. There are ISV products that do support rich relations, including Powertrak Core from www.axonom.com Peter "Michael" <com> wrote in message news:2cfa401c4695d$fdf62ae0$gbl... |
Posted: 13 Jul 2004 07:14 PM PDT MS CRM only supported Outlook. Gicen it's high integration level with the products, I would be surprises if you got it to work with another email client. Posted: 13 Jul 2004 03:13 PM PDT Bill, NTBackup will fail in SBS2003 unless simple recovery is selected for all databases. The Volume Shadow Service is unable to freeze the database for backup. I assume you have run the backup wizard on the todo list to set up automatic, full backups. If you change the model database to simple recovery then all new databases, including the CRM databases, will be created with simple recovery as well. You may want to investigate 3rd party backup solutions that support the full recovery model better than NTBackup. Posted: 13 Jul 2004 10:36 AM PDT Benjamin, I don't think it's a timiming issue. There is not "synch" with AD, so the change you made in AD won't be propogated into CRM. The "official" way to do what you wanted was to create a new user for the new employee and then reassign the records in CRM & traansfer the license. However, in this case, I think you can fix your problem by editing the SystemUserBase table. There is a field that that contains the actual domain acount name. If you change this to the "new" name, then I think you will be OK. He has been replaced so I renamed the account as alot of people normally do. However in CRM Im not able to add him because the old user still exists. Which makes sense because the SID is the same. However, the account still shows domain\olduser instead of domain\newuser. Im thinking this is just a synching/timing issue and will be handled in a few minutes. Im rebooting to verify, but Im hoping that you are able to rename an account in AD and that account will show up in CRM without having to always delete, disable account, create new account, and re-assign all the records |

Posted: 13 Jul 2004 01:09 AM PDT Thanks guys for the replies. In my implementation plan, I have included a one month live run of CRM after which we conduct a two day validation. This basically involves checking/reviewing the system if there were any problems encountered by the users. If no problems/issues were encountered, we turnover the project to the client. Is the one month live run before turnover to the client typical? ANNA "John O'Donnell" <com-nospam> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... their CRM CRM implement but the |

"jimdarch" <microsoft.com> дÈëÓʼþ news:com... excellent Microsoft vendors who can help you. Otherwise, you can't really trade licenses around, because MSCRM is tightly integrated into Microsoft's active directory. In other words, license keys are valid only for the customer to whom Microsoft publishes them. |

Posted: 12 Jul 2004 01:48 PM PDT Ruthie, Unfortunately, neither one of these are supported customizations. Both of these could probably be done by modifying the underlying XSLT files for the form. However, this is "unsupported" and it will require you to be very careful as any future changes or "publishing" would wipe out your customizations. Security settings for added tabs/buttons? Posted: 12 Jul 2004 11:46 AM PDT David, Unfortunately, there isn't a supported way to do this. You could develop your own mechanism for maintaining the security and to check for valid access in your custom pages. not a pretty solution, but it can be done.
