failed to locate a valid qualifying product (using full ver 2k Standard) Posted: 24 Apr 2004 10:57 PM PDT Actually, I was able to get it going. In the field where it was asking me to pick the drive that had the qualifying info, I entered Drive D: (CD)which had the Full Version of Office 2K Standard (same one I was having issue with). It found the info that it missed the first time and installed fine. I would have been pretty pissed if it did not work, because there was obviously no support for this error. an Home. upgrade. Office XP Activation/Subscription questions Posted: 24 Apr 2004 06:53 PM PDT Microsoft sold a subscription version of Office XP but found it was too cumbersome to support. Folks who got the prompt to re-subscribe were given a telephone number to contact Microsoft for a permanent key. All of this is from memory - Bob Buckland would know for sure. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. MS cannot, will not and does not assist with OEM-provided software. Your only recourse is with Dell. Maybe you'd like to ask the CSR or TSR what this fictitious "permissions issue" is, exactly? Apart from a load of crap, obviously. You're going to have to keep on at Dell - escalate if necessary. |

Want to migrate Outlook settings (mainly ACCOUNTS) to new install Posted: 22 Apr 2004 02:43 PM PDT Hi Bruce, If you are using Office 2003, a possible solution is to use "Custom Installation Wizard" to create a Outlook profile (.prf file). After reinstalling the system, you can apply Outlook user profiles by using a PRF file. For more information, please refer to the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/three/ch7/OutB03.htm Hope it helps. Can I create a file with the product code to install Office XP? Posted: 22 Apr 2004 02:43 PM PDT Hi Bruce, I think you can use "setup.exe /a" to create a Office Admin pack for later installation. I guess the script file you mentioned is the MST file which can be used to deploy Office to domain users. Hope it helps.
