Where to obtain help when your customer service # can't/won't take that extra step to do so.

After a VERY frustrating on-line chat with your customer service "Celine" I belive it was I still am left not knowing one simple thing: Does Office 365 not have AR Darling font included as the sole purpose of my purchasing the program was for it. (A client of mine made a image using Office 365 stating she had never downloaded any fonts - AR Darling shows in her list and doesn't in mine. ALL I need is to know where my font is as it's not listed. I don't want to purchase the font being I just purchased an entire software package solely for it OR I want to cancel the purchase if it wasn't included. Your customer service told me 1) It's an add on but she wasn't sure, 2) Since she didn't know she would check, 3) She still didn't know but that she isn't the right department (I then ask who to contact and she didn't know), 4) She suggested a take a CLASS to learn how to use the program (Again, I can use it I need a simple font!). Yes, I am furious with the lack of help.

How do I open my own Microsoft Word 2010 template so that it starts in "Restricted Formatting and Editing" mode?

Posted: 13 Jun 2014 01:19 PM PDT

I've created several form-like templates on Microsoft Word and I use the developer tab to restrict editing in certain fields.

When I open the template, it starts in the unrestricted mode, so I have to go into the developer tab, click "restrict editing," click again on the bar that pops up on the right "Yes, start enforcing protection."

I'd like to skip all those steps and just have the template open already in restricted mode! This is probably an easy fix. Any suggestions?

but it does not work, and therefore I am writing this post.

Can someone correct this Word file so I can use it to learn for my exams?

Thanks,

Image gets distorted when copied to another document

Posted: 13 Jun 2014 09:05 AM PDT

I have an image in a Word document that is comprised of just some text boxes and connecting arrows (all done in Word), which I grouped myself. the problem is that sometimes I need this image in other documents but when I copy it, it gets distorted, spaces are inserted in the text and some text does not appear. I have tried to convert this "image" to an image format, but its resolution lowers.

So could someone please tell me what should I do to have this image copied wihtout problems?

Thanks.

Word crashes multiple times. Fault Module Name: MSGR3EN.DLL

Posted: 13 Jun 2014 08:13 AM PDT

I am using Word 2013 (32-bit) on a Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit machine. The system is stable and fully updated (including the series of updates released on Tuesday, June 10) . My problem is that Word crashes multiple times a day and, so far, I haven't found a clear pattern. The problem has been there since I first installed Office 2013. The other Office 2013 applications are not affected.

Some days Word works without a glitch for several hours, then, in the middle of editing a file, it will crash without any apparent reason. Sometimes, the same file will crash on opening multiple times (even 8 times in a row) until it will open and behave normally afterwards.

All these crashes have something in common, though. The application crash report invariably indicates the file <MSGR3EN.DLL> as the culprit.

A typical crash report looks like this:

Description

Faulting Application Path:              C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\WINWORD.EXE

Problem signature

Problem Event Name:                    APPCRASH

Application Name:                         WINWORD.EXE

Application Version:                      15.0.4623.1000

Application Timestamp:                 537283ac

Fault Module Name:                      MSGR3EN.DLL

Fault Module Version:                    15.0.4454.1000

Fault Module Timestamp:              509a3854

Exception Code:                             c0000005

Exception Offset:                            001cb1d6

OS Version:                                     6.3.9600.2.0.0.256.48

Locale ID:                                        2057

I looked on the Internet for users complaining about the same problem, but I haven't found any. Could it be that I am the only one affected?

Any suggestion will be very appreciated.

Where did they go? Quick Parts Gallery

Posted: 13 Jun 2014 07:03 AM PDT

I was thrilled when I discovered the Quick Part Gallery and found I could a paragraph of text that I use repeatedly. I added approximately six different phrases to the Quick Parts Gallery yesterday and used most of the several  times throughout the day. But today they are no where to be seen. I tried saving another phrase to the Quick Part Gallery, saved the document, rebooted my machine and it was also gone.

I hope someone can guide me. Thank you in advance.

Formatting in word

Posted: 13 Jun 2014 06:55 AM PDT

I am in the process of uploading a completed book. I wanted to use the indents at the start of each paragraph

However when I select all then go into the paragraph indentation and special section and select the indent I want only some of the book has indents.

I dont understand why this is happening.

As I wrote I did nothing different to each page.

Am I missing something here.

Two examples

Turning the new Mercedes around Stan drove off in the direction of Julies café, the only place to eat around here in the mornings, as the V8 engine purred Danny smiled.
"Nice motor Stan yours is it?"
Stan shook his head "Milo's."
"No really," said Danny sarcastically.

Kevin continued "Well we are just about to put the plastering beads on when Liam says the walls still wet, can't be I said he finished it last week, he then says well not so much wet but still moving it was all loose."

"Loose what's he done then?" said Danny.

"Looks like he hasn't used cement," Kevin added.

How can I make a multilingual custom ribbon?

Posted: 13 Jun 2014 06:30 AM PDT

Hi everyone,

For a client of mine I need to programmatically access the labels of my custom ribbon controls. This is because my Word template will be distributed in different countries - an English speaking person should not be bothered with Dutch labels, for example.

Can this be done?

Thank you,

Equation Editor won't properly convert to PDF

Posted: 13 Jun 2014 05:54 AM PDT

Pardon me if you've heard this before but I have not found a solution.

Win XP, Word 2010, Acrobat Reader X. I've replicated it at home on Win 7, Word 2010.

Prepare an expression in Equation Editor and convert the Word file to a PDF. Unlike other older problems I've read about, this gives all the text but it mucks up the brackets, changing then from tall thin curves into short fat ones which each look like a pair of boomerangs with top one balancing on bottom one. They overlap the rest of the typing.

The same happens when I use Equation Editor 3 by going to Insert > Object.

It does appear to be a PDF problem rather than Word, but I am using the Word tool to do it.

Please would you suggest where I'm going wrong?

Thanks

word having trouble opening documents through windows explorer

Posted: 13 Jun 2014 02:06 AM PDT

hi, does anyone know why, or can tell me where to find out:

i normally open my documents by double-clicking on the file in windows explorer. it has worked until recently (i think there was a windows update yesterday).

now some of the files only open as read-only files every time even if the file is my own on my hard drive. even after clicking on "edit document" it still stays read only. i can re-save it but then the next time i open it i have to go through the same thing again. other files wont open at all, there is an error, something like "the file cannot be saved by the converter" (i have a german windows so i'm translating).

HOWEVER, everything works if i open word first and then open the files directly through word.

does anyone know what is happening or what has happened?

many thanks,

How to Fix not printed content?

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 11:18 PM PDT

Hey guys!  was trying to print this cover page for our project.

The picture above was a scanned copy of my Printout. I wonder if I have changed something from the Printing Options of MS Word 2013.

I also tried to print simple texts but it is still the same.

Wish someone can help me about this my concern.

By the way my printer is HP Deskjet Inkadvantage All-In_One Printer.

Thank you very much!

Why do two pages print out on a one page Word Document?

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 11:02 PM PDT

Why do two pages print out on a one page Word Document? Let's say I type a one page resume. OK. When I print it at home (but nowhere else), two pages come out.

The first page is the resume, or any one page word document I created.

But the second page comes out with some sort of stats which look like this:

Filename: resume
Directory: C:\Users\Owner\Documents
Template: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Normal .dotm
.
.
.
As of Last Complete Printing
Number of Pages: 1
Number or Words: 134
Number of Characters: 769

What the heck is this second page and how do I make it stop?

Thanks in advance

Using INCLUDEPICTURE with filtered (variable) number of pictures in a mail merge

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 06:57 PM PDT

Hi, I'm using Office 2010 on Win 7 Pro x64.

I have an Excel spreadsheet as follows:

My Word doc is a Product catalog with 8 cells (in a table) for part photos. It creates a Product catalog by mail merging the respective photo if it has a "Y" in that column (using a filter). e.g. a Product B catalog would have trans, doors, rudder, prop and pistons photos. In this case, I want to merge the 5 photos in the first 5 cells and leave the remaining 3 cells blank.

I am trying to create one INCLUDEPICTURE statement in all 8 cells that will merge the photos based on the filter and leave the rest of the cells blank.

However, all the statements that I've tried merge the photos correctly based on the filter and then place a "red x - linked image cannot be displayed" box in the remaining cells. I cannot seem to make all cells after the last photo blank, because from all the reading and testing that I've done with INCLUDEPICTURE, it always wants to put a photo in the cell.

I am using { INCLUDEPICTURE { IF TRUE "photos\\{MERGEFIELD Part}.jpg" } \* MERGEFORMAT \d }

...but it fails as I mentioned above.

What same INCLUDEPICTURE statement in all 8 cells will either merge the photo or remain blank based on the filter?

This is my first post...sorry if it's not clear.

Can elaborate more if needed - Thanks.

Can't type in blank document with Word 2013

If, after doing this, you cannot boot winxp CDROM and go recovery console,
fixmbr, fixboot -- I dunno what's wrong, something may have damaged the
NTFS partition -- was NTFS write from linux attempted? Try chkdsk too.

To wipe the HDD and start over (final solution, all data will be lost),
zero the complete drive with: dd if=/dev/zero bs=4k of=/dev/hdX

Assumes you booted with some linux install / rescue CDROM. As a bonus
this method also gives the HDD a chance to remap iffy sectors, so it is
good maintenance ;)

You're zeroing the empty part of the partition by creating a file filled
with zerioes until it overflows? Ye ghods, you're begging to have hours
wasted. doing this. And this does nothing for the unused space remaining in
the last block of every file: that contains garbage, and that will clutter
the compression.

You've also left out the "hdparm" commands to speed performance under IDE or
ATA drives: most Linux systems default to some very slow settings, and
benefit from having "hdparm -d1c1 /dev/hdX" run.

Not as fast as doing it by filesystem with tar or rsync, believe me,
especially with larger modern disks that tend to have lots of space on them.

This is how the old "dump" command worked, but it was often pesky to work
with, and doesn't work well anymore with files that have been written in RAM
but haven't made it to the disk yet. There are tools that do this still,
such as Amanda, but they do it by writing tar or dump information to tape or
an archive, not as a local file structure.

Instead, I really recommend "rsnapshot", at www.rsnapshot.org. Not only can
you get hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly snapshots, but they're hard-linked
together with all the identical files between adjacent snapshots, to save
space on the snapshot server. Very sweet trick, and a heck of a lot easier
torestore from than what you're describing.

Read the manual page on the "find" command. This sort of command should work
pretty well.

find /usr/share/man -type l -print

OK, we've got something to work with there. There's a way to write a man
page that is entirely the contents of another man page, so that
/usr/share/man/man3/XauGetBestAuthByAddr.3x.gz will provide what is
effectively a symlink to the Xau.3x manpage. Take a look at the
XauGetBestAuthByAddr.3x file and you'll see something like ".so
man3x/Xau.3x". The makewhatis command that generates the fast lookup table
for "man -k" commands is mis-handling it, and not realizing that it should
and refer to the contents of "man3x/Xau.3x.gz"

It looks like you found the actual bug and it's reported. I hope my
explanation helps a bit to understand it.

Gaim: unable to set up account as unprivileged user

First of all, thank you very much for offering your help.

I finally got to the bottom of it and not it's working just fine.

I'll explain...

First, let me say that I run a minimalistic version of slackware
10.2, kernel 2.6.13.2 on a tmpfs file system (built through the
linux-live scripts/unionfs concept). In this case the issue DID
happen to be related to gaim *in a tmpfs environment*

I solved it by moving the whole tmpfs system to an ext2 hard
drive partition (an orthodox linux install), booting it up with lilo,
then installing gaim.
Now gaim worked with the unprivileged user account. Next, I
transfered the system again to tmpfs, and now everything works
perfectly well.

My mistake was in assuming that gaim would install just fine in
a tmpfs environment, which it does NOT for unprivileged user
accounts. It was my initial experimental step before rebuilding
the tmpfs with gaim incorporated in it. My assumption that this
mustn't have been the issue came from the fact that all the other
programs I had installed so far had no relevant issues with being
installed and then run in a tmpfs environment.

What helped me pinpoint the problem was running strace on
gaim and finding there lots of permissions problems...

MS Word - How do I highlight trailing spaces

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 04:18 PM PDT

Recently, I've had to start using Word and there's something I need to do, but can't figure out how.  I need to highlight a phrase and any trailing space(s).  The problem is, Word will not highlight the trailing spaces(s).

I've tried highlighting.
I've tried shading.
I've tried changing the trailing space to an Em Dash
I've tried changing the trailing space to an En Dash
I've tried changing the trailing space to a nonbreaking space

Let me give a better example (ignore the quote marks, only used for reference)

"ABCD  WXYZ    "

I want to highlight the spaces after the Z, but I can't get Word to do it.

I had someone suggest putting a character at the end of the spaces and then changing the font color of that character to white, but for technical reasons, I can't use that suggestion.  Anyone know how to do this?

Can't Access Onedrive Documents from Word 13 - Security Error

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 02:52 PM PDT

I am trying to load a document from OneDrive in MS Word 13.

The document is owned by a different MS account to the one I use to log into Windows 8 with.

When I try to open the document I get a popup box that asks for my credentials. I enter my OneDrive logins, and the box reapears asking the same question.

How can I open my OneDrive documents? I've already successfully signed into my OneDrive account in Word, I don't understand why I should need to do this again.

Create a Table of Contents with paginations on both header and footer

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 02:13 PM PDT

I have a dissertation paper (60+ pages) with Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3 styles for Chapters, sub chapters, etc.

I have paginated the document in the following form:

Header has title of dissertation paper and to the right side page number which begins at number 2 on Chapter 1 (but actual page is 6 since I have abstract and other material prior to that and of course the blank page I have left for the TOC)

Footer has page number (roman) on left side.

I need my TOC to read the headings and also the roman numbers up to and not including Chapter 1 page (which is where header pages begin) and then continue to read the headings but labeling by using the headers page. Also, because I have a lot of subheadings that may or may not be on the same page as Heading one, the TOC is giving me the following table and I do not want this:

Heading 1---------------------- 1

   Heading 2 -------------------1

      Heading 3------------------1

What could I do for my TOC to look like the following, including abstract (roman numbers that will be found on footer):

Abstract----------------------v

Heading 1--------------------1

  Heading 2

      Heading 3

Heading 1a-------------------5

  Heading 2a

     Heading 3a

All the headings are set, the table of contents is not giving me what I need and I'm not sure if there's any way out of manually deleting the extra stuff and changing stuff around.

Thank you

I am running an up-to-date version of Windows 7 pro.

Same comment on MS Office.

I have a script that cleans up my desktop.  Its run fine for a long time. Now it doesn't.

The only noted change, other than the automated updates, is that I recently installed the latest MS Office.

As snip of the script is:

c:
cd \Users\Mike\Desktop
move *.zip C:\users\Mike\Documents\zip
move *.doc* C:\Users\Mike\Documents\doc
move *.xls* C:\Users\Mike\Documents\xls

It does not find the *.xls* or *.doc* files on the desktop.

A Dir of the desktop directory

C:\Users\Mike\Desktop>dir *.doc*
Volume in drive C is Windows7_OS
 Volume Serial Number is 34AE-8535

 Directory of C:\Users\Mike\Desktop

File Not Found

Yet they show on the desktop.

And a snip of the Properties on the desktop shows I have the path correct.

Is a puzzlement.

They show on the desktop, the "Properties" say they are, but a command line doesn't show them.

Any suggestions?

Why my MS Word97 documents open in Word 2010?

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 08:53 AM PDT

I have MS Word97 and Word 2010 installed on my computer running Win7 Pro (32 bit). They coexisted peacefully until the last week update of Word 2010 through Windows Update.

Now, when I click on any Word 97 document located on Desktop or in the My Documents folder, then it opens in Word 2010 instead of Word 97.

(In fact this happened also in the past, after certain Office 2010 updates through Windows Update. To regain control, it was enough to issue the unregserver command followed by regserver from the command line for winword.exe of Word97. This time the above approach doesn't help.

I checked the file paths, 'Opens with' details, etc. and I was unable to find any error. At the same time, if I choose from the Start Menu:

1. 'Open Office97 document' and double click on any of the Word97 documents from the My Documents folder or Desktop, then they open in Word97

or

2. Programs| MS Office and double click on Word97 icon (link), then a blank Word97 document opens.

I'm completely stuck with this issue. How can one fix it?

Why has Office 365 Home premium failed again?

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 08:03 AM PDT

On 2nd June I had to uninstall then reinstall my Microsoft office because  none of it was working. I had to go through the help desk to do this as I am a technophobe. Now it has all stopped working again. What is wrong with this operating system? Will we get a refund for all the days when it's not working? I paid for Home premium, thinking it would be a good reliable user-friendly system. It certainly doesn't seem to be!

To say I'm disappointed is so far short of the mark.

Help! Is there an alternative system I could use? I'm not looking forward to doing this every 10 days.

Row height issue in Word 2007

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 07:31 AM PDT

I'm modifying a document originally created by someone else within the company. It contains a table with text at 12pt Arial in each cell, but the row height is quite small i.e. the rows are quite close together.

I need to add a couple of rows on to the end of the table. I do this in the usual way and they appear OK, but the height is larger then the rest of the table and I can't see which setting is different. I could get them to match by setting the height for the new rows to 'exactly' rather than 'at least' but this is cheating! The existing rows are set to 'at least' so what is different?

I've checked the row settings, table settings, paragraph settings and font settings and they're all the same.

Why do they look different?

Trouble with list of figure in Word 2010

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 07:23 AM PDT

In an existing word document, I have a list of figures that is hyperlinked to numbered figures throughout the document. I had to had a new figure in the middle of the document (ex: Figure 10) and now I have two "Figure 10"s and the numbers for the figure beyond 10 are now one off. The hyperlinks are all still working, but is there a way for Word to easily fix the numbering issues in the list of figures as well as throughout the document?

I have tried clicking on "update table" under the references tab, but that just completely deletes my new "Figure 10" from the list of figures.

Word 365 - Scroll Bar Becomes Unresponsive After About 5 Seconds Even If Mouse Is Still Hovering Over

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 06:43 AM PDT

I'm on Win 8.1 fully updated, with Office 365.

I was reading through the pages of one of my books, and I hovered my mouse over the vertical scroll bar near the bottom in order to be able to scroll one page (the window is just the right size so that the pages scroll perfectly).

One page took me a little longer than the others and I noticed the scroll bar stopped working.  At first I thought that maybe I'd accidentally pushed the mouse off the edge of the scroll bar, and sure enough when I moved it a little to the left it worked again.

But what's really happening is that the scroll bar is timing out, and even though I've got the mouse properly positioned it's not scrolling.

I can tell when it happens...

When I first move the mouse onto the scroll bar both the horizontal and vertical scroll bars light up.  At that point I can click and scroll by page.  But if I leave the mouse on the scroll bar for a while I notice the other one (in this case the horizontal scroll bar) grays out again.

Graphically, in this case, as the mouse has recently arrived over the vertical scroll bar, clicking the mouse will cause scrolling to work.  Once the mouse has been there without moving for about 5 seconds, the horizontal scroll bar fades out and I can no longer click the vertical scroll bar to scroll the document vertically, even though the vertical scroll bar still shows as active.

How to permanently turn on Read receipt checkbox (while sending a mail from Word 2010)

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 04:42 AM PDT

I'm sending email directly from Word via command: File -> Save & Send -> Send as Attachment. The problem is each time I have to check the Read receipt checkbox on the 'Options' tab. I'm not able to turn it permanently on. I tried the Settings in Outlook but it seems to me it has nothing to do with it.

MS Office issue

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 12:11 AM PDT

I own a Samsung Notebook 9 Lite Windows 8 and installed MS Office on it a few months ago. It was working fine until a couple of days ago. Now none of the Office applications open and not even a message pops up to tell me what the problem is. Any thoughts on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Template Automation

Posted: 11 Jun 2014 11:52 PM PDT

Hi,

I am currently creating a letter template for my office to use. I want to create one template that has information defined by the author of the document (not the template). Currently I have managed to insert the document author's full name using 'Quick Parts > Document Property > Author' however, I would like to be able to insert other fields such as the first name only, initials and mobile number of the document author.

Is this possible?

I have managed to replicate this with the 'User' initals but we need the information to be defined by the author, not the user.

We are all on the same Office 365 network and have our own individual Office 365 accounts if that helps at all.

Kind regards,

Matt

Numbered and Non-Numbered Heading Styles in Same Template

Posted: 11 Jun 2014 09:53 PM PDT

I am using MS Word 2010 on Win 7. I am trying to make headings number sequentially, using the method in Shauna Kelley's Outline Numbering in Word which seems to be the definitive source for how to link outline numbers to styles.

But I want to refine it by presenting users with a choice of either non-numbered or numbered headings so that users can choose to have either Standard:

Heading 1

 Heading 2

   Heading 3

or Numbered Headings:

1. Heading 1

  1.1 Heading 2

    1.1.1 Heading 3

To do this, I would like to set up two sets of headings: Heading 1, 2, and 3, and Numbered Heading 1,2 and 3.  (I only need three levels.)

The thing is, MS Word gets very confused when I try and do it using Shauna Kelley's method.  It invariably adds numbers to the Heading 1 style, which i am trying to keep plain. Then if I redefine that style to have 'no number', the Numbered Headings go out of sequence.

(The reason is, the same template is used for small documents of 3-4 pages where numbered headings are unnecessary, and also large documents of 100 pages or more, where you need numbered headings.)

If anyone has any experience with this, would very much like to hear about it.

I want to transform(xslt) MS word XML into customized XML with retain paragraph/character style properties in it.

Posted: 11 Jun 2014 09:59 AM PDT

I want to retain the formatting like bold, italic etc from style definition and its paragraph properties like left indent, hanging and etc. Can anybody help on this xsl tranformation from ms word 2003 to customized xml or html.

Cheerio Lanwench,

no POP-connector in use here. Just plain SMTP traffic to our ISP`s mail
server. My firewall`s a MS ISA 2004 Server, redirecting port 25 to the
internal SBS/Exchange 2003. How does the NIC`s speed and duplex setting
affect (random multiple) delivery of emails?? I never heard this before but
I`m giving it a try. As I said, I´m out of ideas beside stopping Trend-Micro
services on this machine. Thanks for your help anyway, it`s greatly
appreciated!

Cheers,

Frontend Server for OWA

Posted: 07 Dec 2006 09:09 PM PST

Ooops, my bad. Didn't pay enough attention to that.
So yes, the OP will need to prevent access to the FE from users on the
Internet. This would be best achieved with ISA and an access list
allowing group member in and denying access to other group members.

Well that answer has the same effect of leading one towards Exchange
itself rather than merely IIS.
Good idea to check all the build states for SP level and pathes.
Post the numbers back here if you need and someone might be able to
look through them and point you to an out of date something or other,
be it Exchange or IIS.

Mailbox Logoff time

Posted: 06 Dec 2006 08:39 AM PST

I'm with Peter on this one. Either the customer wants to listen to
reason or they don't.
Exactly what on earth is their problem? You can start the mailbox move
with them logged on or you can force them to log off. Once the mailbox
has been moved they can have a standing instruction for people to log
off their PCs and back on again.
You've wasted so much of your own time (not mine because I'm in here
anyway) on trying to find a solution for the customer because the two
(I'm sure you'd already thought of) methods are unacceptable is daft.

I tested as you suggested and it worked out OK using a new .OST file on the
client. I think my troubles were caused by the cached messages in the OST.
That file had to be recreated by using your method, a new profile with a new
name. Thanks a million for your help - Aidan

Cannot Reconnect mailbox

Posted: 04 Dec 2006 09:46 AM PST

I was thinking you could recover from the Offsite server System State since
it probably has not been replicated yet. In any event, I find it odd you
cannot reconnect the mailbox to any account. Sounds like the mailbox might
still have an account or guid associated with it.

Help, I moved mailboxes and now can open boxes using "Service account admin" rights

Posted: 04 Dec 2006 08:56 AM PST

Okay,

It looks like I have it working for now. It seems that the "group" that I
gave "Service accout" admin rights to is not working on the "moved" DBs for
some reason. Even though the group is on the security tab with "full"
rights.

I went ahead and just added my AD account the the security tab and gave it
"full" rights and everything started working. If anyone has any ideas on
how to get the group working again that would be great. I will try (at a
later time) to delete the group from those DBs and re-add the group and is
if that fixes that problem.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Not specifically, but why on earth are they putting IE7 on this server to
begin with? Nobody should be doing any web surfing on this box anyway. If
removing IE7 fixes the problem, I'd say that's good enough to go with for
now. I don't put IE7 on my clients' desktops yet, let alone a server. I
wouldn't mind if I could take IE off my servers entirely, to be honest.

PS: No need to crosspost to quite so many groups. Most people subscribe to
multiple groups and you will get plenty of 'eyes' seeing your message if you
pick a small handful of relevant groups to post your message in.
