You can install it on the same computer as many times as you like. You can remove it from one and install it on a different one, and that's one license. If you have trouble with the internet activation process because of the perceived hardware changes, then choose the telephone method of activation during the activation wizard, and explain the situation to the operator. They can help you get it activated. I wonder how that affects upgrades to the msi's, would the MST propagate through, or would the new msi override (and you'd have to add the MST to the upgrade MSI definition as well). Posted: 03 Mar 2005 12:35 AM PST Hi, Chris, What I mean is that it appears (without actually being able to look at your system) that you have two versions of Office installed, because the Office 2003 upgrade didn't quite remove all of Office XP. If there is still Office XP in your Add/Remove Programs, uninstall it from there. Have you tried re-installing Office 2003 to see if it can repair itself? That might be a good idea, also. Deleting the Office10 folder isn't usually the best idea, since there's more to an installation than just the files in Office10. There are registry entries that are made and other files added to the windows directory. The Add/Remove Programs uninstall is the best place to ensure that the most of the application is removed. I hope that makes more sense--and yes--uninstalling and re-installing are good things to try, in general. Now I am running windows XP Home and viewing the event viewer I get this: A provider, OffProv, has been registered in the WMI namespace, Root\MSAPPS, but did not specify the HostingModel property. This provider will be run using the LocalSystem account. This account is privileged and the provider may cause a security violation if it does not correctly impersonate user requests. Ensure that provider has been reviewed for security behavior and update the HostingModel property of the provider registration to an account with the least privileges possible for the required functionality. I have narrowed it down to the fact that it's trying to install under a non administrative account, with windows xp home, the steps to follow to bring up the security tab are not there. Is there such a way to bring up the security tab to change the priviledges on the c:\windows\installer directory? Thank you very much for your time in helping with this matter.
