Uninstall Works 2002 and Works 2000 - Help required! Posted: 17 Sep 2005 05:23 PM PDT Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is there a utility, similar to eraser2k.exe for Office 2000, that removes all remnants of Works? A: Yes, the following steps can be used in Works Suite 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, or Works 7.0/8.0, if there are difficulties completely removing or reinstalling the applications. http://support.gateway.com/s/SOFTWARE/MICROSOF/sHARED/7513181faq24.shtml Ken "troggiecymru" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... | I recently purchased a full Microsoft Office pack and wish to remove Works | 2000 and Works 2002 from my PC. Posted: 16 Sep 2005 08:31 AM PDT Re: BTW, you will still find them listed in personal templates, however when you click on them Works offers to delete them from the list. That works OK. Hi N, Good information. On my system if I delete Normal.wpt then start Works Word Processor a new Normal.wpt is created, of course, it is the original Works template and does not include any of the changes I made to it. I actually didn't delete Normal.wpt, renamed it Normal.old, then started Works Word Processor. A new Normal.wpt was created which I promptly deleted and renamed Normal.old back to Normal.wpt Which reminds me to make a new copy of Normal.wpt so my backup is recent. Create list for printing envelopes Posted: 13 Sep 2005 02:31 PM PDT Hi, Perhaps use the Address Book included as an accessory with the Windows operating system. From desktop click Start, then Programs, then Accessories, then Address Book. After the Address Book opens, follow instructions under Help for adding contacts (names and addresses). Close Address Book. Open Word, start a Mail Merge, during the process you will see "Merge from the Address Book". Ken "onemulligan" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... | I know to use mail merge but how do I make a list of the names and addresses | that I want to "import" to mail merge? Posted: 12 Sep 2005 01:18 PM PDT Thanks for that. I have found a workaround (I think). If I open the doc in Word, copy and paste it into Works 4.5 it sems to work. Fortunately I did not open many docs in Works 8, so hopefully there will not be many problems. So far there has not been a problem with databases -- Mike "Michael Santovec" wrote: |

Posted: 10 Sep 2005 02:11 AM PDT Thank you. I spent 3 hours and finally got it working, the thread said to do the add feature and then add certain aspects of the download, it never said that the files I needed were in tools and not under word. I finally got smart enough after going back through it and finding it myself, thanks MS. Thank you also Garfield-n-odie. I shall bookmark the other link for futire reference.
