Auto Updates broke SSL for OWA Posted: 19 Sep 2004 02:56 PM PDT Actually the problem ended up completely downing the server. I just got off of a 10 hour call with Microsoft, the server is now running properly, but there still appears to be a problem with the sequence of IIS starting up. If we start w3svc then start the web site using SSL, then start SMTP, MS EX Routing engine, imap and pop3 then it works, any other order and the website with SSL won't start up. I'm calling them back tomorrow to speak to the IIS team and resolve this startup issue. Thanks for the response though, I truly appreciate it (and yes, it did and does have SP1 installed for E2K3). Posted: 15 Sep 2004 02:07 PM PDT Hello Steve, Thank you for posting back. As the article 318239 is no longer available, I have pasted the main steps as follows: 1. Start Internet Services Manager. 2. Locate the Exchweb\Bin virtual folder. 3. Right-click the Bin virtual folder, and then click Properties. 4. On the Virtual Directory tab, click Create, and then click OK. To create an ASP page: 1. Start a text editor (such as Notepad). 2. Copy and paste the following lines. <HTML> <BODY> This is an ASP page!<BR> </BODY> </HTML> 3. Save the document as Test.asp. What's more, please confirm the results of other suggestions in my previous reply. In addition, you can send the message to me at: com. I am waiting for your update. Thanks and have a nice day! Posted: 15 Sep 2004 07:35 AM PDT We are running Exchange Server 2003 and I want to add an email disclaimer to every outgoing email. I have read the Microsoft Article #317680 and created the EventSinkScript.vbs. The problem is that all of our employees are using Outlook and OWA - the article says that if you use Outlook it won't work. I then looked at article #273233 and it talks about a border server. I was a little confused about this information and also we only have one server in our organization. I don't want to have to pay for a third party software. There has to be a way to make this happen with one server and for free... Thanks! Bryan |

having problems sending mail from server to aol Posted: 14 Sep 2004 08:30 AM PDT The most common reason for AOL blocking you is that your IP address is "dynamic". They will only accept e-mail from static IP locations. This is to stop SPAM mailers. Another reason would be that your e-mail address doesn't resolve correctly when they do a "reverse DNS". -- Regards, Hank Arnold "James" <net> wrote in message news:%phx.gbl... |
