CRm and map point

Posted: 02 Aug 2005 01:48 PM PDT

Yes you can integrate CRM with mappoint. here is an article to get you
started

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnmbscrm1_2/html/mbs_crmmappointintegration.asp

there are many tools available for data import into crm starting with
www.scribesoft.com

Lastly Microsoft stores all data on a central database and has a security
model meaning that if necessary you could stop salesman A seeing salesmans B
data

Contract Template

Posted: 01 Aug 2005 04:46 PM PDT

Hi John,

Thank you for the detailed response. I am sorry for not being more specific
in my question. As I know how to change the actual contract creation, I was
looking for how to change the contract template in Settings>Template
Manager>Contract Templates. When I click "New Contract Template" there also
is a Response Level Filed, independent of the on under the Service Tab >
Contracts "New Contract." Is there any way to change that Response Level
field?

Once again, thank you in advance.

slugs are not officially supported by Microsoft. I believe it was becuase
there was not enough time to test the features out. Becuase of this there is
no doentation on slugs availabe, simply the postings on these newsgroups
which you can see on groups.google.com

Is direct database access ok as CRM customization?

Posted: 01 Aug 2005 12:30 PM PDT

I believe there is an articles on partnersource that says direct sql updates
are not supported but of course you would need access to partnersource to
get it so its not publicly available

Thanks David. From looking through the course overview I suspect that if you
have been working with the SDK for a while you will pretty much have covered
everying in the course but it might be worthwhile getting hold of the course

Quote Format

Kathy, if you are going to be doing quotes with more than 1 or 2 line
items, check out our Quick Quote add-on. It helps you build multi-line
item quotes & orders much faster. Quick Quote also includes Proposal
Publisher which outputs a nice looking quote (with logo!).

Thanks, Jeff

Great! I feel kind of dumb, I didn't realize those options were in there.
Anyway, Thanks for helping me out!

KB Search in Service

Posted: 01 Aug 2005 08:26 AM PDT

I understand about the 15 minute delay for the searching, however, I have
tried it once again within Service and still I cannot find the article. It
seems strange that when I search within the KB contained within "Workplace"
for the same article I can get the article back but not in "Service". Surely
the search in the "Service" section of CRM is exactly the same as the
"Workplace" search??? Any other ideas?

CRM 1.2 Network Bandwidth usage

Posted: 28 Jul 2005 04:50 AM PDT

It's also perfectly possible to run the web browser client over a standard
internet connection, as CRM is ultimately just another web application. All
you need is:

- Public IP address that is mapped to the CRM server
- SSL (strictly not necessary, but I wouldn't want the traffic unencrypted)
- Browser that supports Windows Authentication (i.e. Internet Explorer)

I think this is a Microsoft MBS tool and as such they would need to provide
it.

Promoting Email to CRM problems URGENT!

Posted: 27 Jul 2005 10:55 PM PDT

When u promote a Email to CRM email and link it with the specific lead (with
the 'regarding' field) then the email is related with the lead, but since the
emails has alreday been received so it is appears as closed activity. This
is as per the CRM design.
