Hi John,

Select cell A1

Format > Freeze Titles.

Row 1, the Titles, will appear at top of each page.

Hi John,

Another way,

Select the row above which you wish to insert extra rows.

Hold down the shift key and press the PageDown [PgDn] button.

Fine-tune with the Down cursor button, until you have the
desired number of rows.

Select the Insert menu.

Select Insert Row.

The required number of rows will be inserted into the spreadsheet
at the desired location.

Using Works Suite on another computer

If you have Outlook (not Express) you can do a great job of that. It can
print double sided pages that you can put together to make a book with quick
thumb access to the names. Go into Contacts : File : Page Setup and choose a
style.

For what it might be worth to you, the CD Key for MS Works 4.5 that I bought
retail in a jewel box has the key on the back of the jewel box. It is not
the type of key that applications have now. It is much shorter, such as:
nnn-nnnnnnn. Do you find a number formatted like that?

Does the printer work fine with other applications?

Also check with Dell to see if they have updated drivers for the
printer. Even for new printers, there often fixes to the drivers by the
time the customers get the printers home.

situation.

If any of you order the works templates from us, I will not be able to
respond to emails until this has passed. I will respond
to all emails when I can. I am signing off for now to make some more
preparations both here, and with my neighbors as well.

I will post again when I am able, after this is over.

- Double click "My Computer" on the Desktop.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options...
- On the View tab, choose Show all files under Hidden Files, clear the
check in front of Hide extensions for known file types and then click OK
to close the window

Step 2: Back up the original mswkscal.wcd file
=====
2.1 Search for the file:
- On the Windows Start menu, point to Search, and click "All files or
folders".
- In the "All or part of the file named" box, type "mswkscal.wcd"
(without the quotation marks).
- Click Find Now to search for the file.
The default location of the file is: <C>:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Works
2.2 Copy the found file to the Desktop for backup.

Step 3: Uninstall Works 8
=====
1. Uninstall Works 8.0 from the Start menu / Control Panel / Add or
Remove Programs
Note: If you have performed this step, please ignore this step and
continue with the next steps.

Step 4: Copy the Works Clean-up Utility and Windows Install Clean-up
Utility
=====
4.1 Insert the program installation disc for Works 8 (disc 1 of Works
Suite) into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT
key when you insert the disc to prevent the program from starting
automatically.
4.2 Browse to the "MSWorks\PSS" folder on the installation disc.
4.3 Open the "MSWorks\PSS" folder and copy the file "wks8xp.EXE" for
the Works 8.0 Clean Up Utility to the Desktop
(Right click on the file "wks8xp.EXE", and select "Copy". Return to the
Desktop, right click on the Desktop and select Paste)
4.4 Take out the installation disc from the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive

Step 5: Run the Windows CleanUp Utility

5.1. Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, msicuu2.exe, Frm:

- Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Works
- Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Works Suite
- Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Works
- Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Works Suite

Step 8: Clean Boot your computer and reinstall Works 8.0
=====
8.1 Clean Boot Windows XP:
- Click the Start menu and choose Run.
- Enter msconfig into the open box and click OK.
- On the Startup page, click Disable All.
- On the Services page, mark the checkbox before "Hide All Microsoft
Services" and then click Disable All.
- Click Apply and click OK.
- Restart the computer.
8.2 Reinstall Works 8.0.
8.3 Return to Normal Mode:
- Click the Start menu and choose Run.
- Enter msconfig into the open box and click OK.
- Under the General tab, choose Normal Startup and click OK to reboot
the computer.
