Some CRM interface features are broken Posted: 13 Jan 2005 05:32 PM PST Hi, I have the same problem. I am on XP sp2 and I have installed both XP SP2 patches (Server and client). The navigation problem was solved by this, but I still have a problem with the menus and popup windows. Parts of the menus are not being shown (although they are there) and fixed size popup windows (like import leads etc) are too small, so that I don't have a next button shown to click on (which is rather difficult when it states : click next to continue). Any ideas what this may still come from ? "John O'Donnell" wrote: |
Test and Production Install on same server Posted: 13 Jan 2005 03:45 PM PST As long as youhad a license to spare, then you could do this. Matt Parks MVP - Microsoft CRM ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- On Thu, 13 Jan 2005 16:41:05 -0800, Rick DeLello <Rick microsoft.com> wrote: Matt/John, Thanks for the info. Since this won't work with just one server, Let me ask this from a different direction. Let us assume that we have only one install in place. Would their be a way for us to set up what I might call "dummy" users in CRM that could be used for demo purposes? We could allocate a small batch of records that are unrelated to our internal CRM data and in essence create a "group" of records and a couple of "users" that we use simply for demos. In the end, all I am hoping to accomplish is to have a way for our salespeople and consultants to be able to show customers Microsoft CRM through a standard web browser. "Matt Parks" wrote: |
MSDE Installation Fails with SFO Posted: 13 Jan 2005 12:17 PM PST Yes. I had it installed on this machine but could not get "offline" to work. Read other post, tried suggestions, last resort was to reinstall SFO. I removed SQL2000 MSDE using "Add / Remove" programs, deleted the database and removed registry entries for SQL. Is there something still hanging around that needs to be removed before re-installing? Thanks REG "John O'Donnell" wrote: |
Posted: 13 Jan 2005 08:29 AM PST Doesn't in this case, the MakePrivate method of the CRMActivity Class, works ? Does it not really prevent others to manipulate the object ? For example a manager who have normally access to his collegues' activities... Alec "John O'Donnell" <com-nospam> a écrit dans le message de news:%23h38x5c%phx.gbl... |

SFO causes High CPU utilization on SQL server Posted: 13 Jan 2005 07:41 AM PST John, I actually found the patches last night, and I have applied. This time it completed, but it still seemed to take quite a while for the entire synch process...at least it's working now. Thank you! "John O'Donnell" wrote: |
Posted: 13 Jan 2005 07:23 AM PST If it's just changing the domain prefix, you can do this directly in the SystemUserBase table. You will find you won't be able to add the domain prefixed user as the platform determines the user already existis in the table, but you can't remove it. Kind of a Catch-22. Posted: 13 Jan 2005 04:25 AM PST Just a note: You can't mix standard licenses with professional licenses, so whichever level you buy for one set of users, you will have to buy for all the users. Matt Wittemann http://icu-mscrm.blogspot.com "Alexandra" wrote: |
Access to CRM reports not via CRM Posted: 13 Jan 2005 03:19 AM PST In addition ot the licensing issue, you need to understand how the report engine works. One of the key features of the Crystal report interface wtih MSCRM is that the users security is enforced interms of which records are returned. A user that is not defined to MSCRM has not security context, so by default, has no access to any data in the system. The only option to provide "online" reports to non-CRM users is to build your own that go directly at the underlying tables. Is there any way to see CRM reports without using CRM interface? It's useful in case when you need just to see reports without buying licences for CRM. For example, some boss does not work with CRM modules Sales or Customer Service and just wants to see reports related to it. It's not a good idea to buy Suite Licence only for viewing reports. May be some other type of licences? Crystal Report? Thanx for advance. |

Unsupported but working: CR w/external ODBC Posted: 12 Jan 2005 01:26 PM PST It uses the same methods as CRM does by default (ODBC) -- but the problem is a licensing issue. In order to use CR's ODBC connectivity you must have a licensed version of CR outside of the OEM CR that comes with CRM. There should be no issue as long as you own CR. CRM 1.2 Basic Authentication with SSL Posted: 12 Jan 2005 12:30 AM PST OK, when I hear adpater I usually think BizTalk. My guess is that you are running into a problem with SSL not negotiating the handshake properly when it comes to your calls. I haven't tried to run SDK calls over SSL before, but your code will basically establish it's own connection with the server. It may be having trouble negotiaing the SSL handshake. Is there anyway to configure it so that your code can bypass SSL? Maybe by using localhost instead of the machine name? Or try configuring the MSCRMServices directory to not require encryption?
