MS Project Backend?

Posted: 12 Jun 2005 11:50 PM PDT

Hi Jan,

Maybe i was not clear or maybe i have my info wrong. I am under the
impression tht MS Project stores all its data in the backend as an mpd(?)
file..This mpd is actually an MS Access file (?) ..My company doesnt want to
use MS Access but wants to use MSDE as its free n fast n reliable.

If i am wrong then how & in what format does MS project store its data?
whats its backend?

Thks

Print reports to a timescale

Please explain?

I don't know if I explained the problem properly:

If i want to print 7 days worth (specified in the 'Date Range') why don't i
get 7 days?

I seem to get either 2 or three days, or 2.5 weeks (the total project range
extends on both sides of the "Date Range' required.

EGF,
You're welcome. I understand the frustration. I think we've all been
there and experienced that at one time or another with Project.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your suggestion. But I was doing the same earlier. The problem

Thanks a lot

Thank you, I wasn't aware of the elapsed day setting!

These were actually 2 different thoughts of how to attack the situation. I
should have included both of them in my first response and clearly stated
that these suggestions do not work together. :)

% Complete vs. Work Complete in Project?

SignalwL,
You're welcome. Project is quite different from other applications in
that it has a lot of non-intuitive attributes and relies heavily on a
good understanding of Project Management principles. Books can be
helpful but the best way I have found to truly learn Project is through
hands-on experience.

Good luck with your learning experience. If you have further questions,
we are here to help.
