Task Start on a Specific Day of Week Posted: 31 Mar 2005 12:15 PM PST Hi John, Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :) Create a milestone task and link it between the 2 tasks in a chain. Then create a new calendar where the only working day is the one you want. Now assign the milestone to that new Task calendar. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/ Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :) Mike Glen MS Project MVP John Doe wrote: |
Posted: 31 Mar 2005 10:17 AM PST Thanks, Jan - that did the trick. Just out of curiosity, if ProjDateDiff does not exist in VBA, where are all of the folks who write about it call it from? Cheers Dave Jan De Messemaeker wrote: as including for Prj |

Moving FS linked tasks in project Posted: 30 Mar 2005 08:25 PM PST Thanks. I don't know how that was changed, but I'm good to go. "doniy" wrote: |
How do I remove the request snyc with protected actuals error box. Posted: 30 Mar 2005 01:05 PM PST Lisa -- When you import projects with actuals into a Project Server environment that uses Managed Time Periods, you must ask your Project Server administrator to disable this function before importing your projects. After you import each project, you should publish the project using Collaborate - Publish - All Information, and then republish the assignments using Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments and check the "Overwrite actual work entered by resources" option. The republishing of assignments detailed here "pushes" your past actuals onto each user's timesheet in PWA. After importing your projects, your Project Server administrator should re-enable the Managed Time Periods option. Hope this helps. -- Dale A. Task for the entire duration of the project Posted: 30 Mar 2005 09:24 AM PST I don't recall having tried it on the different types of tasks. Has work already been completed on this task? If so, that might effect making it into a hammock task. I'm not at a computer where I have Project installed, so I can't test it out. Someone else probably can. I'm pretty confident that on a task with 0% complete, it will work on any task. |
can project predict percent complete values? Posted: 30 Mar 2005 08:13 AM PST FYI - "% Complete" in Project ALWAYS refers to duration. Work is "% Work Complete" and there is also a "% Physical Complete" field available if you wish to use it. "% Complete" and "% Work Complete" are usually linked so that updating one updates the other but there is an option setting to sever the link if one chooses. % Complete predicted for a task on a certain status date could be calculated from duration that should be completed by that date divided by the total duration but for the life of me I can't see what information that number gives you or what use such a number would be in terms of managing and tracking the project. -- Steve House [MVP] MS Project Trainer & Consultant Visit http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm for the FAQs "doniy" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |
EV calculations: misuse, problem, or "feature"? Posted: 30 Mar 2005 07:47 AM PST This did it! Thanks for your patience and help, Reid. Best regards, Jeffrey "Reid McTaggart" wrote: |
Change the view on the task details form in MP 2003 Posted: 30 Mar 2005 07:11 AM PST Too bad it can't be customized. The details form in my MP2003 does not have the actual and baseline info. It only shows the plan start and finish. I am not familiar with the optionbutton. Where I find it? I have dabbled in VBA, so I would have to read up on how to create my own form. Any pointers you can give me? "doniy" wrote: |
Posted: 30 Mar 2005 06:15 AM PST I missed your earlier post - is the problem that you don't want to see subtasks indented? Or what? -- Steve House [MVP] MS Project Trainer & Consultant Visit http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm for the FAQs "GusGG" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |
