limit recipient domain when using OWA Posted: 08 Aug 2005 01:53 AM PDT >> 2) Is it possible to set a attachment size limit on attachments when using So one can set a limit per user? That would suffice. It's no problem that Outlook would also be affected. thanks, Anne |
Posted: 06 Aug 2005 02:34 PM PDT Hi there. I'm not sure if you're still looking for this tool, but just to let you know, I've notified the MS Download Center team of the problem link and hopefully someone will be able to correct the error shortly. I unfortunately can't provide an estimated time to resolution. -- David Strome Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 http://www.microsoft.com/exchange Visit the Microsoft Exchange Server TechCenter! http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/default.mspx This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. How to download AOL email into Exchange account Posted: 05 Aug 2005 07:29 AM PDT Yep. I found that out. Ya gotta use Outlook to download them, not Exchange. Thanks for the help! -- Bob "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" wrote: |
Posted: 05 Aug 2005 01:57 AM PDT But you can see the current Exchange service pack on the Exchange System Manager. If you expand your organization till you see your server, on the right pane you'll see the Exchange version + service pack. If it hasn't the latest, just apply it. -- Rui JM Silva MVP Windows Server System - Exchange Server Blog "subject: exchange", http://msmvps.com/ehlo "Keith D" <com> wrote in message news:%23$phx.gbl... |
validating intranet users against exchange Posted: 04 Aug 2005 02:58 PM PDT On 6 Aug 2005 14:37:35 -0700, "com" <com> wrote: You asked: "I'd like to learn how to access our company's exchange server from an asp.net web page so as to use our employees' network logon information as the way for us to validate them to give them access to intranet apps." That means that you want to get access to your Exchange server from a web page. You said Intranet which means you are on the local network. Can you now tell me where the users are, where the exchange server is and where this web page is? |
Posted: 04 Aug 2005 10:38 AM PDT Actually, I haven't done anything yet. Not too experienced with Exchange. We do a nightly BackupExec w/ Exchange agent backup of the mailboxes and the stores. Will an attempt to do an on-line backup provide me with more info as to the health of the database? Thanks, jwkh "Andy David - MVP" wrote: |

Posted: 04 Aug 2005 06:31 AM PDT Mark, Good article, Thanks for the tip off. Every machine I have looked at so far has the Exchange Provider folder the article references under Hkey Local Machine not Hkey Current User as the article suggests - Do you have any insight into that? Posted: 03 Aug 2005 02:59 PM PDT We are running Exchange 5.5 on Windows NT4. I use exmerge on exchange 5.5 to export mail box as .pst. But the program desnot work, the error message is like I posted before. I think I pickup the right exmerge.exe version, but my system does not let me run this program. Any suggestion about that? Thanks again. "Jim McBee (MVP)" wrote: |
Forwarding one mailbox to external POP account Posted: 03 Aug 2005 12:19 PM PDT In news:com, Lewej <microsoft.com> typed: Set up another (test) contact and try again with another mailbox. I don't think it's Exchange, if this is working sometimes...and if it works for another contact. Could be a problem on the recipient's end. |
Posted: 03 Aug 2005 11:08 AM PDT That is not working. We've tried all different configurations. I've tried just the server name, mail.servername.local, servername.local, and the IP address of the server. Is there any place where I can go that will tell me what my outgoing SMTP Server is? Or what the name of the Exchange Server is? Or maybe there is something else I am missing. "Jim McBee (MVP)" wrote: |
Usage and market share of exchange versions? Posted: 03 Aug 2005 10:52 AM PDT No, I realy don't know how the rest is divided, but I would bet in a tie. Probably by now Exchange 2003 should be a little ahead. I think that 100% represent something like 45% of the total email market. -- Rui JM Silva MVP Windows Server System - Exchange Server Blog "subject: exchange", http://msmvps.com/ehlo "Ged" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |

Posted: 03 Aug 2005 04:41 AM PDT Hi Rex, Thanks for detailed explanation. I apologize that I was unable to reply to you soon after you update it. Please understand that it was weekend on my side when you replied. Now I am still here to do my best to help you. This topology makes me more confident that the issue happens when there isn't any replica of Offline Address Book in Location 1 and Location 3. Let me explain it further. First of all, based on my knowledge, the error 0x8004010f happens when Outlook cannot download Offline Address Book from the Exchange Server. Obviously, when VPN connection to Location 2 is lost, Outlook Clients in Location 1 and 3 cannot download the offline address book because there isn't any replica there. Please follow the steps below to add a replica to both Exchange Servers of Location 1 & 3. a. Start Exchange System Manager, expand Administrative Groups, expand the name of your administrative group, expand Folders, and then click Public Folders. b. Right-click Public Folders, and then click View System Folders. Note If you do not see a View System Folders option, then you are already viewing system folders. c. Expand the Offline Address Book folder. d. Right-click the /o=Organization Name/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address List folder, and then click Properties. Note If you receive a message that the mail proxy for this folder not being found, click OK. e. Add a replica of this folder to both Exchange Server 2003. f. Expand the /o=Organization Name/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address List folder, and then click the OAB Version 2 and OAB Version 3a folders respectively. Right-click this folder, and then click Properties. g. Add a replica of this folder to the both Exchange Server 2003. h. After replicas have been made to the destination servesr, wait for replication to complete, and then make sure that the replica folders are synchronized with the source folders. To do so, view the properties of the specific public folder, click the Replication tab, and then click Details. The Replication Status column indicates In Sync. After that, please verify the Offline Address Book in Exchange Servers in Location 1 & 3. 1. Open Exchange System Manager. 2. Expand Administrative Group which contains Exchange Servers in Location 1 & 3. 3. Right click each Mailbox Store in both Exchange Servers, to verify that the correct OAB is referenced under the General Tab. And make sure the mailbox store is pointing to the Public Folder Store in the same Exchange Server. 4. Click OK to save the setting. Then please verify the issue and let me know the result. If there is anything unclear, feel free to let me know. Thanks and have a nice day!
