Posted: 02 Sep 2005 12:39 PM PDT Are you receiving any event log messages? How is your SMTP virtual server configured? Are both servers having trouble sending to the other, or is this problem one way only? Do you have any firewalls between the two servers, and, if so, are they filtering or "fixing up" SMTP? Have you tried to perform a telnet session from one server to port 25 of the other server and verified that you can send messages between them? -- Ed Crowley MVP - Exchange "Protecting the world from PSTs and brick backups!" Posted: 01 Sep 2005 11:58 PM PDT Hi, Massimo wrote: I am not entirely clear on what is your problem either, but in case it helps, I tested out this behavior with Exchange 2003 OWA behind a Linux iptables based firewall. Either form of the URL (https://host.domain.com/Exchange or http://host.domain.com:443/Exchange) work fine, so I'd suspect it's something ISA is doing. -- Chris Priede (com) |

How Can I Restrict Personal Filter on Public Folders Posted: 31 Aug 2005 08:37 PM PDT Mark, Thats is a good one. Frankly, I am the Mr Baseball bat for the past few weeks and I can tell you that is a tough job. There are many exchange archiving solutions, any recommendation? Posted: 31 Aug 2005 11:04 AM PDT Well, it appears that the mailbox of the recipient to whom you're trying to send mail isn't configured to accept Internet mail. -- Ed Crowley MVP - Exchange "Protecting the world from PSTs and brick backups!" "Big Dave" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |
Posted: 31 Aug 2005 10:56 AM PDT You mean when you look in the list of mailboxes under the store? Mailboxes are not actually created until they receive mail or the user logs on and Outlook adds folders and messages. You need not reboot the server. -- Ed Crowley MVP - Exchange "Protecting the world from PSTs and brick backups!" "Gary Payton" <corp> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... |

Exchange Migration Wizard (2003 to 2003) Posted: 29 Aug 2005 08:03 AM PDT Hi, Jim. Yes, it is the Migration Wizard included in Exchange I was mentioning, is there any other version ? Apart from user data and public folder content, we would like to migrate the delegations, Contacts, DLs & Public-Folder permissions, etc.. Basically lets say we must go through the move to the new organization and at the same time minimize the impact on the end-users, they should not have to re-create anything (PAB, rules, delegations, permissions, etc..) I am wondering if we should not consider a third party migration tool such as NetIQ & Quest, or can we do everything that these tools do with Microsoft migration tools ? Thanks Luca. VSS Writer Event ID 9607 Error code 0x50d Posted: 26 Aug 2005 01:14 PM PDT That's interesting. I wasn't interpreting it that way. You are suggesting that the data "backup in progress" refers to an already existing VSS request and that's why the new request is failing? There is a job that starts at 8PM and is throwing a CA error about not being able to connect to the CA RPC agent. That job is finished by the time the second job starts at 10PM. It's the second 10PM job that is trying to do a backup via the Exchange Writer and that's the one that is throwing bith a CA error and the MS app log error I indicated. I do see that the errors int he second job have occurred three times. Each time was after the CA RPC error int he first job. Perhaps you are correct and the CA RPC agent is stuck. I have recycled that service and will do some other re-patching and see if this helps. "Scott Schnoll [MSFT]" wrote: |

Posted: 25 Aug 2005 08:36 AM PDT Ensure that you don't have URL Scan installed. If you do there will be a folder under %windows%\system32\logfiles. There is an issue with Exchange and Windows Server SP1, however, the issue is not like you describe your issue. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=841561 Windows Service Pack 1 has a built in firewall that must be configured to allow OWA through IIS. Also, do you have this same problem from a number of machines? Does Firefox show the same problem? Also, there -- Matthew Tisdel South Carolina "Paleo" wrote: |

You control what goes into a Public Folder calendar and it syncs to all the mailbox calendars (or other publics if you want) You would have a good chunk of work to set it up first-off, but it would be a reliable solution.
