Outlook Today folders unable to expand, permissions denied

Posted: 24 Apr 2005 06:27 AM PDT

Gee - we have no idea as the information you gave has no useful
troubleshooting start point without the VERSION of Outlook!!

Having vented that, generally, creating a new mail profile will usually fix
this type of problem, usually caused by an in place upgrade or an import of
a native Outlook file from a prior version.

If you want to be sure to clear out all references to the old software, I
would uninstall and then run a removal tool. In the download section here at
Microsoft you can get removal tools for all the office products. The remove
feature of office may not get everything.

David Kelsey,
Glad I could help and thanks for the reply. FYI, next time it would be best
to post your Windows version & sp level and the same for Office. The more
information anyone has to go on, the easier it will be to get a specific
answer. Have a good day.

By the way...just passing out your private key code to the world in

It's very unlikely Bob would be wrong about Office matters, his
information has helped me before and with a problem that was answered
by other MVPs who were unable to help....

As for the EULA, I found this site:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/eula/en.mspx

As you can see, they don't list the Academic version so it's very
likely that it would be identical to the Retail version.

Changing the language of a MS Office product?

Posted: 17 Apr 2005 10:53 AM PDT

Hi Jonam,

MS Office Enterprise editions (multilingual)
are non-retail copies of MS Office for volume
license program holders.

MS Office retail editions have (depending on
the country of sale) different money back
guarantees. In the U.S. it's 30 days.

As a car with the steering wheel on the right
purchased in the U.K., will continue to operate
when driven in the U.S., non english language
editions of Office will as well :) You can read/
write in more than one language, but the menus
won't change language.

===========
<<"Jonam Ekstrøm" <net> wrote in message news:d40t1d$7k9$02$t-online.com...

again: there are cases where you don't know that before. Sorry for repeating
myself, but: What if I live in Germany and will move to the United States?
There's some reasons for using an English version in this case. A good
program should be multi-lingual, by the way. This doesn't mean that Office
is bad. However, a multi-lingual user interface is standard for a good
application. I don't see why I should pay another $300 for exactly the same
product, just to get something that should be available by default: a MUI.

How do I get past the Application failed to initiate error?

Posted: 14 Apr 2005 11:11 PM PDT

Sorry I need to clear this up a bit. I have the Student and Teacher edition
on CD that I bought from Walmart about 3 months ago. My harddrive crashed and
I am trying to re-install it from the cd. That is what I meant by download,
not from the web or someone else, but from my own cd, with the "key" on the
case. I am still getting the error message, even uninstalling it and
re-installing using the cd does not work.
