Ability to unregister or unactivate apps as part of uninstall

Posted: 09 May 2005 12:22 PM PDT

Activation is anonymous, to add a username would sort of
defeat that :)

The MS Partner's Action Pack is a special edition,
supported through the MS Partner folks.
MS Action Pack for Office has 5 retail product licenses,
each supporting two activations.
Action pack copies are for internal use only

======
Yea but what if you have a retail copy or in my case a MS Action Pack version
and every time i reinstall it or move it from machine to machine for what
ever reason (still staying within the licensing of course) i have to call MS
for activation, sure it only takes 5 min (now that i figured out you can use
the key pad and not mess with the voice rec) but thats 5 min u have to spend
doing it. I like that idea, have a way to "un-activate", maybe have a
username and password or something to allow someone to do that... >>

no one is helping me?

Yes but what happens if you Customise, remove the btns. Close customisation,
then recustomise and use the add feature to drill down to the relevent
App.exe eg excell.exe ?
Or even if you create a desktop shortcut to an office app, then drag it to a
bare office shortcut bar?

Thanks for the suggestion. One, I have done why they state and it still
doesn't start. Plus, the KB article refers to Officer 2000, I have Office
2002. My registry is set to "1" as the article states.

Can anyone else offer some suggestion on how to fix the problem?

Thanks..

Trying to upgrade to SR1a

Hi Bill,

Unfortunately the CD Edition and the
installed edition (Add/Remove Programs)
have to match. The update download works
with all of the editions but the CDs aren't
interchangeable.

If you don't have the matching CD you can uninstall
the one listed, restart the PC then install from the
edition you do have, but, as with any revision to the
PC environment set a restore point and backup your
files first.

Wow. Quick.

Thanks, Bob.

My msiexec version is 2.0.2600.2 and I have Office 2K
Premium, but it's asking for Professional. The update
website says that the update works with Office 2000 without
mention of level.

Thanks,
Bill >>

Don’t need to post first issue in the other newsgroup. WP Help turned on
causes this to occur. Thanks!

Reactivating office 2003

I just tried the number and was put through
to a person after using the menu choices but you
may want to try using 00 during the initial recording.

Bob, I previously called that number. It's the same recorded/automated
wizard that someone from your indian help desk forwarded my call to. I
believe his name was Samuel. It was unable to help me then and it's unable to
help me now. Even the employee at the support number I called, Samuel, was
not able to help me. I just called it again and of course it was not able to
help me. I'm sorry if I seem discourteous, but it's hard to feel upbeat and
happy when you feel your're being Micro$hafted. I won't be posting anymore
messages pertaining to the problem of activation or reactivation of Office
2003 that I'm having. It's just a waste of time. It's time to move on.
Thanks and have good day. >>
