If the OP:
"I had XP Professional installed" by the manufacturer it is oem and by license is non transferable to any other system.
He can view this information by going here on his system:
Start/Help and Support/See Also/Tools/My Computer Information
Operating System PID will show if the os is oem.

Problem with Office XP assigned via GPO on SBS (long post)

Posted: 24 Jun 2004 03:44 PM PDT

zxc,
Did you search the group for your specific problem? You can also search google groups if the following does not apply.
I used that as a reference that we use with Office System 2003/SBS 2003. Thought it might help you.
We use now a mixture of Office 2003 and Red Hat as server, major pain is an understatment. Thats why were switching to SBS 2003.
There could possibly be more information here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/sbs/techinfo/default.mspx
Someone else may have better suggestions...

Hi,

I'm using Office 2003 Pro, installing from an Office Admin Point with
an Enterprise License Key.

There are roaming users but no roaming profiles.

Thank you.

Remove Office XP completely?

Posted: 20 Jun 2004 08:13 AM PDT

Thanks for the help. This utility did allow me to remove and then
reinstall Office XP and this time it did repair the problem areas.
However, recently-used-file lists and old non-existent Excel Macros were
still listed in Word and Excel. So although I fully uninstalled,
removed folders and all other files that seemed at all associated with
Office, then ran the utility, some files are apparently stored elsewhere
or some entries are left in the Registry.
I even installed Office on a new computer that had never had Office. I
then noted all the new files that were created that day and deleted them
during my uninstall.
