How can I eliminate unneeded boxes I have created at the bottom of a report on Word 2010?

Posted: 01 Jan 2015 12:11 PM PST

I am doing a report. I made 65 horizontal rows and 3 vertical columns. I only used 50  horizontal rows (150 spaces total).  I would like to eliminate the final 15 rows, 10 of which, are at the bottom of the finished report on page 4 and 5 of which, went on to a (now not needed) next page, numbered 5. What do I do? I have read other community reports and watched You Tube. Nothing works so far. Help please! Thank you!

Export from a web browser into Word

My challenge is exporting info from a web browser to Word. I always opens as landscape and legal. I need portrait and letter.

Cannot print current page

Posted: 01 Jan 2015 07:33 AM PST

Split from this thread.

Hi Microsoft, this problem is still happening; I see it's been an issue since at least August 2013.

I've just installed MSWord 2013 in order to preview it before rolling it out to my team. When I try to "Print Current" page I get only the first page of my document.

This will NOT be acceptable to my team members, nor will it be convenient to have to do things to each machine in my department every few weeks in order to get a basic function to work!

Please tell me you are working on a fix for this? And when will it be available?

RSVP and thanks

Try to show only tasks that contain the text 'Export'

Posted: 06 Jan 2006 05:58 AM PST

Hi Greg,

You are very welcome for the assistance and thanks for the feedback.

To show tasks with either a Task Name containing "Export" OR Tasks assigned
to Tom:
Try:
First Row: Name equals *export*
Second Row: OR Resource Names equals *Tom*

To show only tasks containing Export AND assigned to Tom:
First Row: Name equals *export*
Second Row: AND Resource Names equals *Tom*

If there are no tasks containing the word export that are assigned to Tom,
the filter will return no records.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Gantt will be shaded to show that shift's nonworking time. That's the best

MS Project Linked to MS Access Database

Posted: 06 Jan 2006 05:43 AM PST

Julie:

Found it. So let me see if I understand what I read â€" the "Project
database" to which the page refers â€" this can be an Access database, correct?
It seems from what I read on PJDB.HTM that if I make changes to the Project
files they'll automatically update the Project database. Can this be done
with an existing Access database? In other words, do I have to create an
entirely new Project database, or can I add updatable MS Project data to an
existing Access database?

Hope that made sense...

I'll do some searching on the web to look for addons.

Can I sent up Project to use Outlook's calendar function to reserve resource
time in a resource's calendar and then have Project send a meeting notice
update if the project engineer moves the timing for task?

Global Resource

Posted: 05 Jan 2006 12:51 PM PST

There are several ways to do what your looking for but for a short and quick
way is to create a new Master Project. Do not put any tasks in this project
just link in all the projects that you want to compare resources on. Then
without any recalculations look at the resource views. It should show your
the allocation for a resource across all the projects within the Master.

Some people will disagree with this method but it is short an easy.

Since you are already using Project Server, why don't you create a couple of

those two custom fields? You could even use graphical indicators in the

MSCRM 1.2 has limitations when providing support internally within the same

will disappear, I believe, in the next release when the Email Router will be

Company numbers generated automatic from MS CRM

Posted: 18 Aug 2005 12:39 AM PDT

I'm afraid I don't exclusively own the intellectual property rights to the
code I've written before, so can't publish it anywhere.

To get you started on post-callouts, have a look at the following MSDN
article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/crmsdk1_2/htm/v1d2postcallouts.asp

As to writing the code to generate numbers, I'd suggest the following:
- Create a SQL table to track and generate numbers; the easiest option is
use a Identity column as this will prevent duplicate numbers being assigned
- Use the CRMAccount.Update method to save the number. See:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/CrmSdk1_2/htm/v1d2crmaccountupdatemethod.asp
- Be careful if using PostUpdate, as a call within this to CRMAccount.Update
will cause another call to PostUpdate, so you will need to ensure you don't
create an infinite loop

Hope this helps

Leads entity in v3.0

Posted: 17 Aug 2005 08:25 AM PDT

Understood, but there are 2 problems with having to on-off each and every
contact:
1.) You must first pick one of say, 20 leads (as there is 1 lead per
contact) to convert/create a new account record.
2.) You must go and update all of the remaining leads with the new
customerid, then convert them-- one by one-- to contacts so they can be
associated with the new Account record.

In a B2C scenario, this may be prudent, but in a B2B, it's tedious for our
Users. If an organization is your lead, it makes much more sense to be able
to pre associate all of the people that say, a Telemarketer speaks with
(which means multiple "Contact" lead records to properly log Phone Call
Activities) before they reach the "Decision Maker" which enables the Lead(s)
to be converted to an Account/Contact/Opportunity.

It seems redundant and superfluous to either a.) only include one contact in
the Lead process, as this is never the case for us and b.) Have no automation
that can handle many to one association for "contact" leads within an
"account" lead so that the conversion process sets everyone up where they
need to live outside the realm of the Leads entity.

What ends up happening with our end users is that they create one lead for
the account/facility, then they import all of the contact data directly into
the Contacts entity so as to save the hassle of converting individual Lead
records to Contacts.

re-assigned. All the associated orders went with the contacts as well and
that is very very poor design behaviour.

Can anyone confirm you are getting the same behaviour?

Conditional Formatting in Workflow E-mail

Posted: 16 Aug 2005 02:06 PM PDT

Wow. That's a tough one. I don't think you're going to be able to put
conditional statements in the email itself. I think you'll want the
conditions to be in the workflow. I'm not sure exactly how to work this out,
but I think I would approach it with manual workflow rules that call other
manual workflow rules (sub processes). So, you might have Rule 1 that the
account rep runs when they create the opportunity.

Rule 1 might go something like:
If
opportunity.owner = John Smith
Then
Run Rule 2
Else
Run Rule 3

Rule 2 might say:
If
opportunity.CFPunderwriter = Frank Jones
Then
Run Rule 4
Else
Run Rule 5

Then you'd need Rule 3 to say:
If
opportunity.CFPunderwriter = Scott Wilson
Then
Run Rule 6
Else
Run Rule 7

You'd have to do a number of rules. I'd start by diagramming it out. Then
the final rule that each branch of the diagram would get to would be the
email. I guess if you have too many possible combinations, you could
potentially end up writing 100 rules, and then face the prospect of someone
leaving the organization or changing their name or getting promoted, and
you'd be in it all over again.

The other approach: Write a web application that has all of your logic
built-in and call it from an ISV button on the opportunity form. This would
be harder to do, but would probably end up serving your purposes better.

Anyone else have some thoughts on this one???

CRM and GP integration with Biztalk 2002

Posted: 16 Aug 2005 12:48 PM PDT

If you have been using both products disparately, you run the risk of ending
up with a huge amount of unintegrated duplicate data in your systems (i.e.
customers, products, etc.) Don't go into it expect your existing data to be
"integrateable". Most likely you will have to migrate your data from Great
Plains using the scripts provided by MS and then use some sort of de-duping
tool (c360 has one with their SearchPac module) or write your own script.
Bottom line, MS built the integration with the assumption that Great Plains
is already in place and that you would implement it at the same time you
implemented CRM.

Also, once the Biztalk integration is in place you will notice many flaws in
the architecture of the adapters (i.e. messages can "partially" fail,
accountid is mapped to customerid but customeid is mapped to "integrationid"
useless for getting the correct account #'s into Great Plains causing our
Acct. Mgr. to edit customerid's with Changer, the list goes on). On top of
that Biztalk is highly unstable. Jobs will run...sometimes. Message
Monitoring/Diagnostic tools are a stinking pile of sh**ty hacks thrown
together. I wish our development team wrote a custom integration from the
get-go now that i look back on all of the time I wasted on the "free"
integration.

On the other hand, we have been very impressed with the Scribe INsight for
CRM integration tool (our developers just went through cert training and are
testing the product) and we are about to migrate off the Biztalk integration
and implement the Scribe solution internally (Scribe provides a migration
tool and will assist with shutting down a Biztalk solution). My advice
(supported by many sleepless nights) is to avoid the "free" Biztalk
integration and go with Scribe or wait for the next iteration.

sorry to be so long-winded. :P

Just like Lanwench said, there is no way to block these specific NDR's while
letting in other, legitimate NDR's.

The problem lies in the SMTP specifications, the people who originaly
designed SMTP didn't take into consideration all of the nasty things people
would want to do with email, including spoofing a FROM address. Over the
past few years there have been some attempts to fix this with things like
SPF/Sender ID, and others, but until the *entire* Internet adopts these
solutions and uses them constantly FROM address spoofing is here to stay,
which means that NDR backscatter (that's what it's called when you get the
NDR even though you didn't send the original email) is also going to continue
to be a problem.

One thing I've noticed on Exchange discussion boards and email lists, this
NDR backscatter problem seems to have really picked up over the past month or
two, I suspect some spam operation has been running a massive spam campaign
using a large list of legit email addresses to spoof the FROM address.

does this make more sense? basicaly their mail server is trying to exchange
email with our public webserver.

if this is still not clear here it is again

IP 1 - has MX, A and PTR record - mail server
IP 2 - has MX, A and PTR record - mail server
IP 3 - has MX, A and PTR record - mail server
IP 4 - has A and PTR record - web server

2 different domains recently had instances where their exchs were trying to
send email to our webserver (IP4) how??! there is no MX record. Those orgs IT
also confirmed that if they do nslookup for our domain MX records, there is
no IP4 listed anywhere... odd part is that in both of this instances email
was orginally sent to group of people and bounced back as NDR only for our
domain, sender then forward same message this time only to receipients from
our domain and all works ok!

I would say it is DNS issue but how this is possible? where their exch
server is getting this from and again we never ever had MX for this IP
address (IP4 webserver)

Restoring Information Store to an Alternate location

Thanks for the info. RSG is probably a project I can get into next, but at
the very minimum, I just want to restore Exchange database files to another
folder location on the same server from the original NTBackup .bkf file.
When this happens, just want to be safe that these restored files doesn't
take the place and overwrite the current production files. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

system administrator undeliverables

Thanks for the response. Yes, allow NDR's is unchecked, as far as I know you
cannot use recipient filtering with system admin ndr's. I could try the
tar-pitting, but again I'm unsure that that will work for system admin ndr's.
But I'll try it. Thanks

Yes install your CAS roles first. You can dual role CAS + Hub
Transport on same box. You can also network load balance them using
windows network load balance if you want two CAS boxes.

Order of deployment:

Client Access server role

Hub Transport server role

Mailbox server role

Unified Messaging server role

Next install your mailbox server role. The installation will be
different depending on whether you are doing SCC or CCR cluster.

Event 565 in Security Log

Posted: 12 Apr 2008 11:11 AM PDT

John,
Thanks for the reply. I am ‘jamesb’ and I was only reading my e-mail. I do
not access any other mailboxes other than my own. This error happens for most
(and probably all) of our users even though 90% of them do not access other
mailboxes.

I do have access to a shared calendar, though I wasn't accessing any
calendar at the time of the errors.

Thanks,
James

MSExchange TransportService Not starting - Event 1016

I can't even contemplate speaking for EMC (I work for the competition). I
would contact them directly and ask for a patch or update to permanently
resolve the issue based on what MS has communicated to you.

In a multivendor solution, compatability issues become more complex. For
any vendor, before applyiing a service pack check the supportability matrix
for other vendors' products in your environment. It a good idea to have a
test or QA environment (even a virtual one) available to test updates as
well.

"Send As" Permission

Posted: 09 Apr 2008 02:56 PM PDT

Thanks very much. That would be a great article... except that we use
Exchange 2003, not 2007. Unfortunately the comparable TechNet book doesn't
contain a comparable chapter. And the instructions for using the "Exhcange
Management Console" don't seem to have any equivalency in the 2003 "Exchange
System Manager".

The approach using AD U&C is closer, but we'd already tried that. It looks
like we have given the user permission -- they even appear as a delegate.
But can they actually Send As? No.

Maybe I should ask the question a different way: What is the difference
between "Send As" and "Send on behalf of"? If I have both permissions, how
do I control which way I am sending a given message?

Thanks again!
