Picture Manager is still available as a Shared Tool in Office 2007. To
remove it, do the following:

1. In Add/Remove Programs (WinXP), open the Microsoft Office 2007 listing
2. Select Add or Remove Features
3. Expand the Office Tools list and scroll to MS Office Picture Manager
4. Click the small arrow to expand the Feature State and select Not Available
5. Click Continue at the bottom to update the installed state

How can I recover missing text!

Posted: 05 Apr 2015 11:34 AM PDT

I was typing a word document (Office 2003) on my old Windows XP 2002, which I made sure to save every few minutes, when somehow I hit the mouse and the  pages of text were gone! The document is still on the desktop (and comes up when searching for files) and notes the date and time last modified and the 23.5 KB size, but there is just one blank page when it is opened. Is there any way to recover the text or is it lost forever and I will have to recreate two days of lost work? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Resetting/Applying quick styles to several documents simultaneously

Posted: 05 Apr 2015 07:19 AM PDT

I created and/or modified a few custom quick styles in the normal template, and I wish to apply the changes/additions to not only any subsequently created documents (which is possible through checking "New documents based on this template" in the Modify Style window), but also to all existing documents based on this template (and applying the changes to their contents at the same time), of which I have many (as in, over a hundred, all across a complicated tree of folders and subfolders). Is this possible to do without resorting to manually opening each of those 100+ files and selecting "Change Styles > Style Set > Reset to Quick Styles from Template" then saving the file, over and over again?

Line Spacing at a specific point in a document - issue with bullet lists

Posted: 05 Apr 2015 02:25 AM PDT

Hello,

I know how to create unique line spacing for one line: Paragraph>>Line Spacing>>Multiple, etc: HOWEVER, when attempting to create spacing after a bulleted list, in which the final listed item is more than one line, the line spacing ALSO applies itself between the lines of the multi-lined bulleted item.

Visual Example:

Dan's List

  • I went to the store
  • I went home
  • This next bullet is two lines, any spacing I specify to go after the 2nd line of this bullet also applies itself between the two lines of this bullet item.

Next sentence continues here.

Please help me apply spacing to only what is below the 2nd line of the final bullet item, thanks!

Hello,

I have read a few threads on this error, but it seems recovery requests are not posted in the older threads.

I have a file with this error, and I am building an understanding that there is something wrong with the formatting, but I lack the sophistication to fix it myself.

Here it is on google docs: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7kJf3HSmvwYY29FY1dDaThwR2M/view?usp=sharing

Any help that prevents me from re-doing the work will be appreciated. Also, is there anything I can do to prevent this error?

Blank page being inserted before the current page, not after. How do I fix?

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 07:54 PM PDT

I am working with Word 2013.

I'm not sure what I did but when I went to insert a blank page, the page was inserted before the page I was working on instead of after.  For example I was working on page 2, went to insert a blank page expecting it to be page 3 but it became the new page 2. I have no idea why, all of a sudden, it is doing this. When I was working on documents earlier, it did not do this so it is a bit frustrating.

There is a section break between two pages but I don't recall doing anything out of the ordinary to change the settings.

Enter AutoTextList field

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 03:41 PM PDT

I'm totally stumped on creating an AutoTextList field. I'm using Word 2010 on XP for a large law firm with many auto text entries. Here's my problem:

- I choose Insert > Quick Parts > Field > AutoTextList.

- I enter Name under Field Properties > New value. The goal is to be able to choose from a series of initials, and then the user's full name fills in (which is why I call the field "Name").

- If this is all I do, then right clicking on the Name field displays a list of ALL the AutoText entries for the firm. I want this list to only display certain AutoText entries that start with x. For instance, xLCP.

- I understand that this is supposed to somehow be related to Styles. I read that you will only see AutoText entries that correspond with the style of the document that you put the field in, which is what I've done. In documents where this field works correctly, it's Normal style and I have it in Normal style in my new document.

- The AutoText entries are located in a Menu.dot file which I have located. The entries in that template are also in Normal style.

I have an example of a document that has this field showing up correctly. The field is called "Name", and when I right click I only see a specific list of options (all in the same format, xLCP, xRCC, xTJU, etc). So I know this is possible. Essentially I have two questions:

How do I narrow down the list of AutoText options I choose from when I right click the field?

How do I see how an existing field entry is coded? Like I said, I have a document with this field entered correctly, so if I could just see how that field was set up then I would know how to recreate it.

Any  help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Leah Peabbles

Also, while your particular monitor may not be listed in the
configuration tools, it should be possible to look up from your
manufacturer core characteristics to set up a "custom" monitor
configuration. These include:

Vertical. (known as refresh rate typically 60 Hz for an LCD monitor,
more like 50-70 for CRT's.)
Horizontal (known as scan rate, depends a lot on the monitor)
Maximum resolution (depends on physical monitor)

You should be able to manually enter those. If your video card is not
correctly detected, or too limited, it won't be able to use the
highest settings for the monitor, but most nVidia integrated chipsets
should do reasonable 1200x1024, minimum. What driver is listed in /etc/

it is possible to add an interface into crm that accesses data in an

in fact with v3 this becomes a real possiblity due to the ability to add

This has been asked before. So I apologize if I am repeating the same
questions. I've made a significant research on this discussion group
w/o any success prior looking for a help here. Also, that is my first
experience with Microsoft Business Solution products installation. So
please excuse me if I sound to novice or too stupid ?

I've installed Windows 2003 Server Standard and then CRM 1.2 w/o any
problems. Then when I try to bring up Deployment Manager. It gives me
an error message "Snap-in failed to initialize.", Actually i get 3
messages like that.

Also, Application Even Viewer shows a few identical errors
"dmLog: IsCRMSysAdmin : WhoAmI failed.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."

I checked on all CRM services and they are running under the user name
I have installed CRM and am logged on when trying to open DM.

I've spent a few days researching and reinstalling the server a couple
of times but it seems like I am getting stock at the same spot. Please
is there anybody who could get me out of this nightmare :) ?

Microsoft Word - getting 2003 files to open

Microsoft Word - getting 2003 files to open

getting 2003 files to open

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 03:07 PM PDT

I had office 2003, and several files saved using this format. I recently downloaded 2013 version and uninstalled the 2003 since it will no longer be used or supported. However, none of the 2003 files are opening. What did I do wrong, and how can I get my files to open?

How Do You Highlight or Find Specific Cross-reference For Endnotes in the Document?

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 01:04 PM PDT

I have a large document, and I used the endnote functionality and cross-referencing functionality in MS Word to write my references. Now I would like to delete one of my endnotes (reference #2) and would like to find all cross-references associated with it so I can delete them also. Is there an easy way to do this?

On a related question, is there a way to highlight all endnotes and cross-references associated with them--all together? I'm aware you can use the options>advance>field shading option but I think that only works for the cross-references, not the endnotes. Thanks!!!

Red x in word document

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 12:22 PM PDT

I'm converting a web version of an agenda into a word doc. Everything converts properly except it always shows a red x in a box at the top.  There is no image in the web version.  I've had this tested by others and they don't get the red  x.  It only occurs for me.  I have Office 365.  Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Microsoft Word

I made a BIG mistake and accidentally deleted "Word". I use it nearly every day! I tried restoring and it restored everything back to 2011, I thought. But it still doesn't work. When I pull up my programs, it isn't there. Now it says there were "no previous programs"....What else can I do? I can't find the original hardware. My computer is a Dell. My model is an Inspiron 560. I got it about 4 yrs. ago.

How to open .docx file from OneDrive on Android?

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 06:14 AM PDT

HI,

I have a number of .docx files saved on One Drive I would like to view on my Android phone, but I can not open any of them.

These files do not have passwords and I have not added any protection to them myself. I don't need to edit them, just view them.

Office Mobile states that it can't open digitally protected files!?!?! Seriously, why?

I have tried using Kingsoft Office which I have added One Drive to, but it keeps asking me for a password? I haven't added a password, what's going on?

Microsoft Word 2013 and Onedrive for Business, Read-Only Mode issue.

Posted: 02 Apr 2015 08:41 PM PDT

Hello,

I am using a Microsoft Surface Pro 3, Windows 8.1, and I have the Onedrive for Business 2013 desktop folder installed on my desktop. Any Word file opened from the Onedrive for Business folder opens as a "Read-Only" file, including ones I created on this computer, which means that I cannot save my files under the same name.

I went into the Onedrive for Business folder and checked the files properties, the read-only box is not checked for any of the files. I just want to be able to save my documents without having to save as something different. What can I do?

Thank you

Replace upper-case acronyms with small caps in MS Word

Posted: 02 Apr 2015 05:35 PM PDT

I have a 200-page MS Word file with several acronyms spread all over the text, and they are all upper-case. I want to replace every acronym with four or more characters with a small caps version of it.

Example:

  • NATO should become ɴᴀᴛo,

but

  • NHS should remain NHS.

Is there any way to do that (semi-)automatically in MS Word 2010?
