Posted: 12 May 2004 03:28 AM PDT Hi, it´s a must, that the user must have local admin rights, because some settings are written in the HKLM\software\microsoft\mscrm registry. The next version MSCRM 2.0 will change this. -- Ich hoffe, das hilft / I hope, this helps. Posted: 11 May 2004 05:19 PM PDT Hi Jim: If you did a vanilla install of CRM on an SBS 2003 machine it would have overwritten companyweb as it installs into the default web site. There is a very detailed chapter in the CRM IG about installing on SBS 2003. To retain the SBS 2003 functionality with MS CRM you need to use host headers and multiple IPs. John. Posted: 11 May 2004 01:36 PM PDT Because it's a package app and they are covering themselves. If you want to work "within" the support terms, then look into PostCallouts. this allows you to tap into the framework of the app. Matt Parks ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- On Tue, 11 May 2004 13:36:02 -0700, Jack B <microsoft.com> wrote: I want to add a trigger to one of the CRM tables to perform an action on a different database. It's on an activity so I can't just use the Workflow Manager. I am not going to change any of the CRM data with this trigger. Can anybody tell me why Microsoft would invalidate the support agreement because of this? I understand if I went ahead and changed data, but I'm just adding a trigger that is not touching the CRM data. Thanks. |
Posted: 11 May 2004 12:44 PM PDT I must be doing something wrong. I created an ODBC connection to my CRM server, told it to use the _MSCRM database. This worked fine. When I go into MSQuery to select my tables it shows lots of strange tables/views (eg. CRMPub-AAA_MSCRM_AccountBase_VIEW and ctsv_6E463C7991FF4F18FD01234CD246C), but no regular table names. If I tell MSQUERY to only show tables, and no view or synonyms all I get are dtproperties, MSmerge_contents, etc., but no regular CRM tables like ContactBase. Do you know what I'm missing in trying to select these tables? |

Posted: 11 May 2004 06:52 AM PDT Gilles, There is a Share function in the application. The owner of an object can share access with others. The rest are BU manager will work on the same account as the salesperson depending on the business category of the client. So I wanted to create 1 BU for the Salesdepartment and one for each other BU and then share the account. The BU manager must only have access to the account that we allow him the access. That's why I want to configure our CRM like this. If do not create this structure, there's no solution to restrict the access to an account to BU manager, because there's no share possibility. Is that right? Notice: The salesperson are the owners of their account and not the other BU Manager.
