Retention Policy Deletes Maibox Contacts

Posted: 24 Nov 2008 12:19 PM PST

Hello Ed -

Thanks for the reply - I have tested this (after restoring contacts to a
user's mailbox) by running an EMS command (Start-ManagedFolderAssistant
â€"Mailbox Domain\User's Mailbox) against that individual mailbox - the command
deleted the contacts from the mailbox.

At this point, I can think of only one solution: build a policy by adding
default folders one at a time to the policy to find the offending culprit.

Thanks James,
I uninstalled IMF and everything worked fine.

Maybe you are on imf version 1 and sp2 includes version 2. When
upgrading IMF I recall you had to uninstall IMF first. You could be
encountering this issue. Go ahead and remove; run Exchange sp2; then
run microsoft update to get any additional updates.

"Note:
If you forget to remove IMF version 1 from one of your servers before
you start applying Exchange 2003 SP2 a flag will be raised, and you
will be told to uninstall IMF version 1 before continuing. :

Workaround for External DNS Issue?

Posted: 18 Nov 2008 03:01 PM PST

If you have your Exchange server pointed to your internal DNS and are using
forwarders, you could possibly change those.
Rather than the DNS hosting service, use your ISP. Or a free DNS server like
OpenDNS or something.
Or you could create the zone for partner on your internal DNS server and
create the records needed to send them mail.

when accessing internal url https://server.company.local/owa, it got such
error.
in the certificate the common name is company.com and server.company.local
