weird indentation on odd pages Posted: 26 Dec 2014 01:56 PM PST The bullets and paragraph on my odd pages doesn't seem to respond to the indentations on the ruler correctly, it's like it's going the other way around. If I move the lower left indentation to the right then the paragraph responds as if I moved it to the left. I'm working with quite a lot of bullets and numbering so this is messing me up. Here's several snips to better explain what I'm experiencing I tried making a new document and wrote random stuff but it worked just fine. btw I'm still using office 2007 and just installed several windows update, I wonder if that has anything to do with it? any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance |
Posted: 26 Dec 2014 01:23 PM PST I just typed something up, then realized I stupidly forgot to capitalize the words in the title. Being lazy, I tried the "change case" from the tools menu and chose "title case". However, it capitalized the first letter of every word, including a "the" in the middle of the title. I thought Word 2003 was smarter than that. Was I remembering wrong, remembering a different version (Word 97, 2000, XP), thinking of ClarisWorks 4.0 or Open Office Writer, or is there a feature to make it do it the correct MLA way like I learned in elementary school 25-30 years ago? If it is a preference or feature, how do I enable it? If I was thinking of a different word processor, could somebody remind me for my sanity's sake which one it was (ClarisWorks 3.0/4.0 on the mid to late '90s Macs or Open Office Writer)? Unfortunately, my Mac is dead, so I can't test ClarisWorks, but I can try Open Office or LibreOffice. |
New Office 2013 Install On Win 7. Nothing Is Working? Posted: 26 Dec 2014 09:35 AM PST So I just installed Office 2013 on Windows 7 Pro. The install appeared to work fine (i.e. no error messages). So I go to start up Word and get the document page, so I select blank document. It seems to come up but then I immediately I get: Microsoft Word has stopped working. I haven't tried every one of the Office 2013 programs but I get the same error trying Excel. Ideas? Thanks,

Multiple Table of Content links per row in a Word document Posted: 25 Dec 2014 10:25 PM PST Hello, Is there any way to place multiple table of content (TOC) links in a single row? For example, suppose you have a document in which the TOC displays links for Sections (Heading 1), Topics (Heading 2) and Chapters (Heading 3) as follows:
