Change workstation's domain, exchange account Posted: 13 Jun 2007 11:35 AM PDT billan <microsoft.com> wrote: So - the user is moving to an entirely unrelated AD domain/forest? If so, export the mailbox to PST using Outlook import/export (or exmerge on the server). Then when the workstation is connected to the new mailbox, either exmerge it back in, or open the PST in outlook and select/copy/paste data into the mailbox (don't use Import in Outlook). If you mean that you'll be moving the user's Exchange mailbox to another server, don't worry about the OST file - a new one will be generated from the mailbox data. No. OST files are mirrors of a mailbox and are permenantly linked to the mail profile/mailbox for which they were created. |
Aggregating NDR's sent to multiple mailboxes Posted: 13 Jun 2007 09:36 AM PDT Sorry, I think my verbiage was confusing. When I wrote "undeliverables coming from external mail servers" I was referring to the bounced NDR's that are like a normal message. The "Mail Delivery System," "Mailer Daemon," and "we're blocking your address as spam until you reply" type emails that hit our inboxes. What I got from your message is that I can grab the true NDR's by tweaking exchange to send a copy of them to a mailbox. That's 80 - 90% of the battle right there. To get everything else I might be able to use our anti spam software to identify and possibly aggregate those - probably a cleaner solution than creating and maintaining outlook rules. Posted: 12 Jun 2007 02:26 AM PDT Hi, Checked the message tracking and it was the same email that was sent before with the same old date 10 May 2007. Any clue? "Tzahi Kolber" wrote: |
SMTP Outbound Email stops after Gateway Server is rebooted Posted: 11 Jun 2007 10:32 AM PDT Both of these sound like good response. I will try this on Saturday. I think I tried the Stop and Start services of SMTP, however I will report back next week. Thanks for the help. "John Fullbright" wrote: |
MSExchangeES not starting, code 0x80070001 Posted: 08 Jun 2007 11:22 PM PDT "John Fullbright" <fjohn@donotspamenetappdotcom> wrote in message news:%23%phx.gbl... OK, so I took the account of the mailbox I'm going to register my event sink to, and added it explicitly to Permissions and Mailbox Rights of the mailbox, giving it explicit "Full Control" and "Full mailbox access". Then I put that account in the Identity page of the COM+ application, and restarted the application; re-registered the event sink. Still, the service will not start, and the event sink doesn't work. Any other suggestions? Well, I've been given a simple task: to setup a mailbox that could forward the incoming messages to an sms-gate, replacing the Subject of the messages with a specific mobile phone number, but leaving the Body untouched; and one such mailbox for each of our system administrators and software developers (about 10 or so). I couldn't find a way to do that using a rule in MS Outlook (I mean, replacing the Subject), so I thought it would be a better idea to use server-side event sinks. But maybe Outlook can help me with my task? Any suggestions in this direction? -- Yuri |

It leads to performance problems and possible data corrupution. I suggest that you disable autoarchive in Outlook; you can do this via group policy. See http://www.exchangefaq.org/faq/Exchange-5.5/Why-PST-=-BAD-/q/Why-PST-=-BAD/qid/1209 (you'll need to click to expand the text) Sure - there's also Quest, and many others. You might look into trial versions and set up a lab/test environment. |
E23K authenticates to DC in different subnet Posted: 07 Jun 2007 09:06 AM PDT Check sites and services. If the subnet is not associated with the correct site there, it's in the default first site by default. "Tim Gowen" <org> wrote in message news:%phx.gbl... |

Some users unable to access OWA Posted: 06 Jun 2007 12:47 PM PDT I wish it was that easy. It's hard to get an exact count. They have many remote users outside the office that rely on either OWA for email or VPN connectivity for full network access. I know of 2 users that are in the office and atleast one outside the office. It's possible there's more, but I'm just a consultant and work remotely as much as I can. I've got about 20 exchange servers that I manage and none of them have this issue. This server has no history of crashing, just one day I got the complaint. A MS update maybe? I can't even track it back to a date now. I'm tempted to just delete the user and recreate them, but then I'd have to deal with their profile issues because of the SID changing. I'd rather find a server based fix if there is one. I appreciate the replies. "Michael Dragone" wrote: |
