Force Eseutil /d to use different drive for temp defrag files? Posted: 06 Feb 2007 11:07 AM PST Can you give me a sample command line if I need to use both /d and /t? The online help only shows it with one command line. Thanks. "Jim McBee (MVP - Exchange)" wrote: |

Mail sent to users not in active directory (recipient filtering and tar pitting) Posted: 06 Feb 2007 09:15 AM PST > Anything else we might need to know before implementing these If you feel like reading another article, here you go :)) http://www.exchangeinbox.com/articles/020/dirharvest.htm -- Alexander Zammit WinDeveloper Software IMF Tune - Unleash the Full Intelligent Message Filter Power http://www.windeveloper.com/imftune/ "admin35" <net> wrote in message news:com... |
Posted: 06 Feb 2007 08:01 AM PST I agree with Alexander that this would not be very practical. The SCL value has to be assigned by a trusted source. Hold on, I'm getting a feed from my implant: That is what the Exchange 2007 Edge Transport server will do for you! Seriously, though, you Edge Transport will do that for you. It is also possible that there are some 3rd party products and services that will do that for you at a hosted service provider or via an appliance in your DMZ. I'm not sure what the actual deployment details would be, though. I am pretty sure for E2K3 that the SCL value has to be passed in a trusted source, this means an E2K3 bridgehead server. -- Jim McBee Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com Directory Update - http://www.directory-update.com "Alexander Zammit" <alex@respond_to_group> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... |
How can I restore someone's deleted contacts? Posted: 06 Feb 2007 07:23 AM PST OK, I figured out that problem, I had to actually take the running/production Information Store db offline (unmount). So I got that to work. The next step is to defrag that db, but I'm running low on drive space on the C: drive (2.5GB free) and it gets about 16% through the defrag process and aborts because of low disk space. Is there anyway to have it put its temp defrag files on another drive? "dean.carrefour" wrote: |

Something blocking OWA from working. Posted: 05 Feb 2007 01:36 PM PST We are trying to access the outlook web mail from outside the organization. This computer is a windows 2003 server with exchange 2003 on it. Inside the organization it works fine. We can access mail via exchange and via the web eg we type in http://10.1.0.2/exchange and we get the password box and mail. However we we try to access it through a router that is directly connect to the DMZ and to a second port on the computer it does not work. eg DMZ --> Router --> Nic2 ---Win2003/Exchange Server. To try to make things simple to just see if we could simply get to the server we stopped iis and the owa and put in a little web program on the Win2003 server. Just to see if we could access it on this machine, but we cant. In testing our rourter configuration we have put this same web program on a laptop and set it up in the following way DMZ --> Router --> Nic ---Laptop (with web server program). This WORKS. But when we swap out the laptop and plug in the Win2003/ Exchange Server it does not. Its like there is something on this computer that is preventing it from working. Regards |
Corrupt Information Store (Exchange 2003) Posted: 05 Feb 2007 11:32 AM PST Perhaps related, but I have an additional issue. For the last few nights (well 3 of 5), users have lost connectivity to the Exchange server. On the server itself, all services are running and there are absolutely no errors in the Event Viewer that are unusual. All users are affected by this and a restart pf the server is the only thing I've found to resolve it. Please advise. Thaks, Jer "Jer" wrote: |
Posted: 03 Feb 2007 03:13 PM PST thank you (john and ed) for help me, I think only a MVP can help me. on the server the mailbox management process is schedule to run once in the week on the mailbox storage the interval for maintanence is between 1 and 5 am. Yesterday I delete a lot of desnecessary stuff from the HD and after 2 hours I try to defrag, then 9 GB was freed. But on the first 3 hours after I mount the storage, the DB grows in 3 GB, on sunday... and like I explain before that the total of the mailboxes dont reach the 7.5 GB. so what can I do now? |

In past experiences i have found the Calendar would have over 10MB of information or the user accidentally dragged an email from the inbox into the Calendar....and at times Outlook/exmerge wont like it. Outlook will eventually begin to hang and Exmerge will fail. |
