Remove part of Mac version

I appreciate what you're saying...it's as though we Mac users are the
Cinderellas and the ugly sisters (Windows) are getting all of "mother"
Microsoft's attention.

I'm on the other side of the coin, wishing there was a fairly basic
version of Office for the average person with the basics in word
processing, spreadsheets AND mail/pim etc. I still FONDLY remember my
first computer with Wordstar (industry standard word processor at the
time) loaded on ONE 360 KILOBYTE floppy and, to be perfectly honest, I
can't think of a thing I do now which I couldn't do then except for
entering the commands graphically rather than with a command line type
entry.

Anyway, I was astounded the first time I saw the Windows version of the
Home and Student Office and found no pim/e-mail BUT Notes instead. I
had to wonder how many students did NOT want or need a PIM and e-mail
program. I had hoped, when I moved to Macs and found that we home users
at least got some sort of pim/e-mail program that it would continue. ;-(

Office for Mac 2008 License key transfer?

Hello!
I have a Mac Book Pro (still a novice mac user) and installed Office
for Mac 2008 about a year ago. My husband just purchased his own mac
book pro yesterday and I installed my office software onto it as I
thought I had up to 3 licenses but every time I open it up on his
computer it states:

"An office program is being used by Ski Tamarack. Your Installation
exceeds then number of installations permitted by the license
agreement. Click More Information to go online to learn about
Microsoft Office Licensing"

When they say 3 licenses, does this mean networked computers? We are
not networked.

I have two sleeves in my software box, one for Office for Mac Media
Addition AND Office Mac. Each one has a different product key. I tried
to follow the instructions on how to delete a product key by getting
rid of the Product key so I can try another one but that is not
working. It makes me delete these OfficePIDlplist??? files. I trashed
them, empty trash and then restart. then when I open word (or any
office program) then the set up assistant is suppose to start up so I
can enter a new product code. Yeah, that's not working. And I don't
know how to delete an entire program honestly for a mac.

I hope someone can help me out.

Thanks!

Will there be a 2008->2010 upgrade?

Posted: 04 Jun 2010 01:53 AM PDT

In the past the education edition (now known as 'Home & Student') has been
eligible for upgrade to the 'standard' edition, but not to a new version of
the education edition. What the policy will be for Office 2011 has not yet
been announced, but I doubt that it will change... As Jim said, that's a
part of the reason why the education version is significantly cheaper than
any of the other editions of the version.

Installing Office 2008, when my computer has 2004 on it

I have purchased the full version of Office 2008, and would really appreciate your tips on how to install this. I don't need (or want) to keep Office 2004 running, as it would just clog up my system, with another program and my computer is running low on hard drive space.

See this page for help:

I suggest not removing Office 2004 until you have Office 2008 up and running. THEN delete using "Remove Office" .

Because it said it would not install propally. i have tried your suggestions still says its an incomplete install and to remove and reinstall but there is no previous files found when i search...

Are you an admin user? I suggest running Repair Permissions first. Log out of your User then hold down Shift key to disable all applications including hidden ones and try installing. Restart between each update.
