statuscode and closeprobability in opportunity (C#) Posted: 30 Jul 2004 01:13 AM PDT Hi, What do you mean by exclude? It's not possible to exclude an opportunity. But it should be possible to customize the statusCode so you can have that status. This is not possible for the statecode - it can only be open, won or lost. I'm not sure about the closeprobability. the closeprobability, it's an integer such as 10, 25 account, |

Calling the web site = no response !!! Posted: 29 Jul 2004 06:25 PM PDT Hi Jerome, A few ideas. 1. Make sure that the users can connect to the server as normal by connecting to a shared drive if you have one. IE does not check for accounts that have "expired passwords", you just can't connect. 2. From a DOS window on your server, type "ipconfig /flushdns" 3 or 4 times, then wait a few minutes. See if that helps. Is Microsoft CRM Right For Me? Posted: 28 Jul 2004 08:54 PM PDT It's not a "square-peg/round-hole" type problem but the out-of-the-box MS CRM solution leaves a lot of verticals to do their own customization. I browsed around the Microsoft CRM site and found only one partner offering anything like what you're describing. The web page I went to is http://mbs2.microsoft.com/gps/soldev.nsf/(IndustryIS)/008D871E548FD4BE85256CFD006A46A1?Opendocument and here's a cut-and-paste of the information there: Real Estate Solution Set for Microsoft CRM Whether you are a small or large company specializing in commercial or residential real estate, I.B.I.S., Inc.'s Real Estate SolutionSet will give you the power to effectively and securely manage your business relationships and shorten your sales cycle from lead generation to escrow. I have a real estate investing business, and I'm thinking about using some type of sales automation tool to help make it more efficient. However, it's not so much "sales" that I want to track as much as it is "opportunities." That is, we look for an investment property and then go through a well-defined process to decide if we want to buy the property. I think it's similar to sales processes in that, at any step, new information may make us decide not to buy (similar to a lead dying). Plus, we are constantly managing our pipeline to make sure that we have enough opportunities at the various levels of the process to keep us going. We have 3 people, and we each can do any part of the 10-part process. If we had a tool that would make it possible for us to easily and independently see various opportunities that are in the pipeline, sometimes assigning them to indivduals sometimes to the group, we'd be more productive. This seems like it would/should be possible with a good sales force tool, but it comes down to implementation. For example, our initial "leads" are property addresses. We eventually put an owner's name and contact info with that address, but that owner could be viewed almost as a vendor. The same property owner could have several leads that we are interested in. We'd want to be able to track this, so we could have the same one of us call a repeat "vendor." Even though this is just the beginning, my question to any MS CRM implementors out there is whether I should even consider this product for such a business, or would this just be shoe-horning a square ped into a round hole. Thanks, Bill |

How to change the values in xml for picklist Posted: 28 Jul 2004 03:03 AM PDT That's the basics, but you first need to clear the existing values. As I said though, you need to make sure you have the "full" list of all possible values defined to CRM, then you would re-build the list with the proper subset. Matt Parks MVP - Microsoft CRM ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- On Thu, 29 Jul 2004 13:00:56 -0700, "jaskel" <microsoft.com> wrote: Are you saying there is a way to cascade picklist values? For instance if I choose "A" on the first picklist I would only want to see "1", "2" and "3" in the second picklist. If I were to choose "B" on the first picklist I would only want to see "4", "5" and "6" in the second picklist. How in javascript would you pull that off? Can you just do formName.controlName.Items.Add "item1" or is it more difficult than that? Thanks! you the option to do this the "complete" list is call a routine to set the automatically filter the tap into the OnLoad either. Posted: 27 Jul 2004 08:28 PM PDT Jipson, The BTS Partner Edition that comes with CRM won't install unless you have a Great Plains environment setup. It requires this as part of the isntall checks. You don't need to put BTS & the integration on seperate machines, but depending on the work load you are processing, you may run into performance issues. When it comes to integrations, capacity is a big "depends". You have to answer the expense question yourself. You can try with a single server and them split out to 2 servers at a later time, but you will incur additional implementation costs to do the split, so if you think you need that capaacity, I'd do it from the get go. I am contacting with ebridgesoft to get more information about CRM integration component. If I don't use .NET, Can I use Biztalk Server 2002 partner edition for integration that comes with CRM package? Do I need to have different servers for CRM integration & Biztalk? Is it too expensive to have these servers? Appreciate your response. Thanks, Jipson "John O'Donnell" wrote: |
