Does RSET Reset RETR-caused Deletions? Posted: 14 Jun 2005 03:20 PM PDT It's doubtful that the RSET command would help you. Its intention is to cancel the DELE commands issued this session. But since the POP3 server should not automatically mark for deletion records that have just had a RETR, maybe it will work on the errant server. Rather than the RSET command, another thing to try is just end the connection without issuing the QUIT command. The POP3 server is not supposed to delete any messages until the QUIT command is issued. And if the session ends without the QUIT command, the POP3 server is to assume that the connection was lost and the mail client lost all downloaded messages. But the real fix is to talk the POP3 server administrator into changing their policy. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Carl Gunther" <com> wrote in message news:GKIre.4412$news.pas.earthlink.net... |

STORE.EXE - MS Exchange Information Store Posted: 10 Jun 2005 08:56 AM PDT Hi, I've seen similar cases where it appeared to be some corruptions in the store that caused the high cpu utilisations. Of course, there must be some process/thread that is doing something with the database (e.g. online defrag). Maybe its possible to track if there is a particular thread that is consuming all the resources. Use perfmon and watch the "threads" object (select all instances of the store process and watch the processor utilisation). Also you might run an isinteg against the stores to check if corruptions are there. Run "isinteg -s <servername> -fix -test alltests". You can run isinteg multiple times until the number of errors and warning are both 0. Keep in mind that the particular store has to be dismounted. It can take a couple of hours for a complete run, depending on the size of the database. Regards, RonaldM "Bobby Mir" wrote: |
