Works 2000 won't open Task Launcher????? Posted: 14 Jan 2006 06:48 PM PST Hi Lil, I have Works Suite 2001 on a WindowsMe operating system. Works calendar data is in file mswkscal.wcd, located on my system at C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Works. Copy this file to a safe place for backup. I think for Windows 2000 and XP mswkscal.wcd is located... C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Works. I also think on Windows XP the Application Data folder is a hidden folder so be sure to tick "Show hidden folders and files" in Folder Options. It's a free download, at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=95E24C87-8732-48D5-8689-AB826E7B8FDF&displaylang=en or http://tinyurl.com/3qlb4 This is strictly a viewer -- you then have to cut and paste the document to a word processor if you want to work with it. It's supposed to read .wps files from Works 6 and 7. |

Possible to format Calendar output? Or calender template for wordprocessor? Posted: 11 Jan 2006 10:45 AM PST No I didn't. I'll give it a try and report back, but not tonight. So does Works somehow print through IE or as if its output is HTML? Thanks for the idea! I just opened the Calendar, and if the dates as printed page scaled to the same size relative to the printed boxes as the font on the screen relative to boxes on screen (remember I'm looking at a month) I'd be happy --not ecstatic, I'd like a bit larger, but ok with it. The numerals on the printout are about half as big as on the screen, even though the printed page is about 40% bigger than on the screen. "ernie" <co.uk> wrote in message news:phx.gbl... |
.wps document borders don't show in received emails Posted: 10 Jan 2006 04:57 PM PST Found on PrimoPDF forum by micmos85: http://forums.primopdf.com/showthread.php?t=367 Alright, I think I've got a simple, working solution. I had the same problem but have now installed and printed on both Win98 and WinME. Just a warning, on Win98 the installer overwrites my msvcirt.dll file with a WinXP version that doesn't work. You may want to back it up first. I had to restore it with the sfc utility. 1. Install the program normally. 2. Copy the primomon95.dll and primomon.hlp files from the C:\Program Files\activePDF\PrimoPDF\primomon directory into the C:\Windows\System directory. 3. Add this entry to the registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Print\Monitors\PrimoMon] "Driver"="primomon95.dll" 4. Repeat step 1. After re-installing, I had a working PrimoPDF printer on both Win98 and WinME. I hope the installer gets fixed soon, but this seems to work in the meantime. Hope this helps. Posted: 10 Jan 2006 08:15 AM PST Hi Wayne, The word processor in Works 8 does allow database fields to be selected. However, a major issue with Works (versions post 4.5) is that, during the mail-merge process, numbers lose their formatting. Of course, there are workarounds but this should not be necessary in a suitably-featured Works 'suite' program. HTH, -- Kevin James. Posted: 08 Jan 2006 01:29 AM PST teejay zei het volgende op 8-1-2006 10:29: Wordart allows one to put a text over a picture. A textframe does not have a transparent background. So Wordart is very useful in the Works Wordprocessor. It is a shame that it has been removed. MS tells us that it is a 16-bit subprogram. This is a shame in itself in a 32-bit program. Moreover MS is not at all clear about the security issue that is the reason for the removal. I downloaded the patch, but decided not to apply it.It is too much of a downgrade. Erik. |
Posted: 07 Jan 2006 10:57 AM PST Hi, My wkpr60.exe digital signature and/or certificate info also displays expired(11/24/03). However when I installed it in 2003 it was valid. MS Works Spreadsheet - Printing Issues and Out of Memory Posted: 06 Jan 2006 01:17 PM PST In addition to Ken, there may be a situation in your \Temp folder causing this problem which would be corrected by deleting the contents of that folder. Only do this immediately after a reboot. Regards, ern. "Jen73" <microsoft.com> wrote in message news:com... |
