Blank Page defaults to a picture. Posted: 13 Jun 2013 10:52 AM PDT I have a picture that appears when I open a blank document. It is not in the header and I cannot figure out how it got there. How can I remove it so that it defaults back to a blank page? I am operating on Office 2010. Thanks, Regina |

Figure captions defaulted to new format Posted: 12 Jun 2013 01:05 PM PDT I have been using Word 2000 for years writing lengthy technical books. My publisher and I have been using the format for captions: "Figure 12.33 figure description". When I insert a caption the prefix Figure 12.33 appears automatically with automatic numbering and I simply enter the figure description. This scheme automatically keeps figure numbers correct with edits and is very convenient.
Today, after working on the current book since last August, when I entered a new figure the automatic numbering defaulted to Fig 274. That is the 274th figure in the document. This sequenctial numbering existed for all new caption insertions. I selected Format: Style: Caption: Modify: Format: Numbering. Both the Numbered and Outline Numbered tabs had the None box outlined. Nevertheless, I selected another box, then Customize, but in the resulting dialog there did not appear to be a function for formating the autonumbering scheme. After fiddling, but not remembering what I had done, the format is now Figure 12-33 throughout the entire document rather than Figure 12.33, but the Numbered and Outline Numbered tabs still have None indicated.
I also attempted to locate the template file that my document is using so that I could replace it with a file backed up from my system before the format changed, but I was unable to locate the .dot file.
Suggestions?

word documents won't print with windows 8 Posted: 11 Jun 2013 06:14 AM PDT I've received no error messages when sending documents in Word to print - it simply does nothing, and the print queue shows zero documents waiting print. And yes, it prints just fine in WordPad, notepad etc.
The problem is solely with the documents I create in Word, and the only change I've made is upgrading from Windows 7 to 8.
And I've already tried the Printer Troubleshooter and it claimed to find no problems to fix. |
How to enter RGB in word border Posted: 11 Jun 2013 02:12 AM PDT Does anyone know how to change the RGB in a border in Word 2010. The RGB I have had decimal points which Word seems to reject. Hope someone can help. |
Posted: 08 Jun 2013 07:46 AM PDT When I receive a file (program) most of the words has shifted to different location. I will have to push the words, lines or sentences back in place before printing. |
Autocorrect set to UK English but still autocorrects in US English Posted: 08 Jun 2013 04:14 AM PDT I set all the language settings to UK English, I set proofing language to UK English and have followed online forum instructions to get my Word to autocorrect to UK English spellings, however, it is still autocorrecting in US English i.e. 'realise' to 'realize'. Have I missed a setting somewhere? This is really frustrating me, submitting work in US English to University will mean I am marked down for incorrect spellings. |
