I am using Word 2010.  I have a thin line across the page that shows when print.  However, I cannot remove it.  What is it and how do I remove it?

Thanks.  Steve

Automated Method of Removing Read Only Recommended Option from Document Repository - Word 2007

Posted: 21 Feb 2013 05:56 PM PST

We are running Word 2007, Windows 7 Enterprise Sp1 2 Bit.  We have a document management system Opentext Hummingbird DM 5.2.  Years ago someone set the Read Only Recommended check box when we had Word 2002 on a subset of form documents. Up until recently, the users were able to work with the documents as they received a prompt when they opened the document which allowed them to ignore the Read Only option. Now with some of the recent versions of our DM users are no longer prompted with the option to say Yes or No to the read only option, instead the document opens Read Only.  They have to perform a Save as, cancel the document management profile screen, save the document locally, click the Tools, General Options and uncheck the Read Only Recommended option and import the document back into our document management system.  I am looking for a way to search through a document repository to find the Read Only Recommended option in the Word documents, uncheck the option and save the document back in an automated fashion?  Please note, this is not a Read Only option on the file.  This is the Read Only Recommended option you see when you go to save a document and click the Tools menu, General Options.

Message - 'Configurating Microsoft Home & Student 2007'

During the last few days - when I open a Word file, whether it's an attachment to an email or it's accessed through Windows File Explorer, I get a message 'Please wait whilst setup prepares the necessary files' followed by Configurating Microsoft Home & Student 2007', this takes approx 30 seconds.  This is so annoying as it is so time consuming.  What is causing this and how can I get my PC to revert to work as it used to?

I  carried out Windows and Office updates a few days ago, is there any connection?

M. OFFICE UNIVERSITY 2010

HI: In Microsoft Office University 2010, using WORD. Right about the BLUE "FILE" Box Tab, there is a few small icons. One of which when you hold your mouse over one of them, it  shows "SAVES", and saves the work you have just done. I know you can hit "FILE" and brings up the 'area's of which you want to do, such as, save. HOWEVER, when you 'hover' over the smaller icon and SAVE your work, how can you make sure that it is SAVED. Does microsoft have a 'sound' for this so that you can 'hear' it and be rest assured that it is SAVED.

THANKS,
