Message tracking weirdness

Right. It seemed rather silly that it might confuse
message tracking but I just wanted to double check.

ensure that you
that we keep the

tracking the message
access to or that does

Hmm.. I don't believe it was either of these cases. As we
just setup the Exchange server and enabled message
tracking at that time, we have logs back to the beginning
still. As this is the sole mail server now it shouldn't
have to contact any other internal mail servers either.

Anyway, I'll just ignore it for now and see if it
reappears. If so, I'll worry about it more then. I mostly
wanted to verify that there wasn't something really dumb
going on (relying on the 220 output of the server.)

Thank you for the response and suggestions,

free/busy in exchange 2003

Posted: 07 Jul 2004 12:56 AM PDT

You can not set FreeBusy as privateor public. What Mark is referring to is
setting Calendar to be either viewable or not which you set it by assigning
permission for Default to NONE.

As far as FreeBusy goes, you will not be able to see other people's if that
person has never used calendaring. What I usually do when I create a new
mailbox is to send a test appointment to that box and ask the owner to
accept. Once it has been accepted the freebusy will become visible.

Hi Romero,
in the first place you should not even accept emails which are not addressed
to your local domains/user. Exchange 2003 can be configured out of the box
to not accept this junk. If you are not using echange 2003 or if you want to
reject all the junk to save bandwith you should install a proper antispam
solution.
there alere are lots of free and commercial on the market. I personally
prefer rejecting filter such as my www.aloaha.com.
Futhermore Aloaha can remove read receipt requests and delivery receipt

Outlook Versions?

Posted: 06 Jul 2004 09:25 AM PDT

Hi Neil,

The supported versions of Outlook are Outlook 2000, Outlook 2002, and
Outlook 2003. These are the versions that have been tested with Exchange
Server 2003. Earlier versions of Outlook might work just fine with Exchange
2003, but they have not been rigorously tested, so YMMV.

Hope this helps.

Macro to save as with prompt

Posted: 02 Feb 2013 08:35 PM PST

Hi,

I will have hundreds of word documents to save as txt (UTF8) and instead of going through the menus, I'm trying to make a macro, and I'm not familiar with VBA. I recorded one that works but it always saves the document with the same name which means it overwrites the previous document I used the macro with, and doesn't let me choose the name anyway. So I want a prompt box to appear to be able to write in the name.
The name of the files would be RESxxxx.txt so that's why I tried to have the RES already there, and just limit the input with the xxxx part.

My current try says error 13 file mismatch. I obviously do something wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Sub SaveTxt()

Any ideas on how to fix it?

OK this has worked great - thanks, Alexandro and Peter. I didn't even
know it was possible to convert rpm to deb! Incidentally my language

functionality. Maybe there are no major differences between them?

Thanks again,

So the code will just get forked and there will be Free and Non-free
variants. I think they would be likely to lose that battle since the who
would use a non-free broken version when they can have a free version
that does what is required?

Look at it this way. Treat MSOOXML as an incompatible ODF. Both ODF and
MSOOXML are based on XML and similar approaches to the same issue. I
can't see any advantage in moving from MSOOXML to ODF and then breaking
it. If having a format that breaks the standard works, just stick with
MSOOXML.

But the browser wars were a lot different to this battle. MS are not
giving MSO away free with their operating system. If they decide to do
that, perhaps your concerns are justified but if they do that they lose
nearly half their operating income so I just don't see that happening
any time soon. I'd say a port of MSO to Linux was a lot more likely.

Imagine MS had been charging $50 for IE against Netscape being free. Do
you think they would have had the take up to start dictating web
standards? I don't.

Agreed.

The steps are outlined in the implementation guide. This is
definately a product where you need to follow the steps very
carefully.

Basically, you go into the web interface, go into settings, business
units, users, select you admin user and then assign a license via the

on_change() event for text fields

Posted: 19 Feb 2004 07:47 AM PST

Hi Steve, you can absolutley do this, but it's not officially supported. It
works at the schema/form level, but there is no UI tool that helps you do
it.

1) Export your schema from deployment manager
2) Manually add events to the desired for fields (using existing field
events as examples). Be carefull not to break your schema!
3) Re-import your schema.

I'd do it on a test system first.

Recover licences

Posted: 19 Feb 2004 07:33 AM PST

You have to do this through the SQL Server Query Analyzer. If you are
not comfortable doing this DON'T DO IT. Also, back up your database
before running any scripts. Here's the directions for removing the
license:
1) Load Query Analyzer
2) Copy the table SystemUserLicenses to SystemUserLicensesB
-> Select * into SystemUserLicensesB from SystemUserLicenses
3) List the contents of SystemUserBase, ordered by Full Name
-> Select * from SystemUserBase order by FullName
4) Locate the user you want to delete
5) Copy the SystemUserID of the user to memory
6) Delete the License entry in SystemUserLicenses
-> Delete SystemUserLicenses where SystemUserID = '{insert
SystemUserID here}'
NOTE: the ' and {} are required as part of the string.

Again, if anything is not clear or you do not feel comfortable doing
this, STOP.

What is the technical reason for native mode requirement of the domain?

I have not changed any settings, except to hit update. Please help!

I use Word 2010. I want to have full justification within each column of a three column newsletter.

When I type in a new line - almost immediately after the second word in the sentence it begins to justify. If I type on two words in the line - one is justified left and one is justified right. The last line of a paragraph will justify with huge spaces.

In my 2010 Word "Hyphenation Options" box - there is no % but rather, inches.

Display of Calibri font in Outlook and Word 365 is corrupted

Posted: 01 Feb 2013 01:48 PM PST

How can I repair the corrupted display of Calibri (body) font in Outlook and Word 365? Can I download/reinstall Calibri font files?

The display of Calibri font on one of my computers was corrupted at some point during or after upgrading to Windows 8 (from Windows 7) and to Office 365 Home Premium (from Office Home & Student 2010). This problem never existed prior to the upgrades.

I first noticed this in Outlook text e-mails where the font was a gibberish of music notes and symbols (I do have music software installed on my computer by the way, to include Sibelius 7, Pro-Tools, Adobe Creative Suite CS6 apps). Display problems with Calibri font also exists in Word (which I understand works within Outlook). No other fonts or apps on my system have this problem.

Steps I have taken so far (that have not resolved the problem):

  1. Tested other apps and fonts to determine which are affected
  2. Ran scan for virus/malware (IOLO System Mechanic Pro) and no viruses or malware were detected
  3. Determined that display of Calibri (body) font is the only corrupted font, and only in Word and Outlook 365
  4. Determined that Calibri font works fine in all other Office Apps (Excel, Access, Publisher, One Note)
  5. Deleted Calibri font from the fonts folder (but somehow applications still find and use Calibri)
  6. Ran the Office 365 on-line repair function, but corrupted display of Calibri in Outlook and Word still exists
  7. Submitted my question to this forum :-)

Note that although I changed the default Outlook fonts to Arial, when I reply to messages, the automatically generated From, Sent, To, and Subject header information is still in the (corrupted) Calibri font, though I can highlight and change that font to one that works.

Note also that this is apparently only a display problem. If I forward an e-mail with corrupted Calibri font to another of my e-mail accounts and access it from any other computer or smartphone, the text displays properly.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

How do I fix my Tab button

Posted: 31 Jan 2013 06:51 PM PST

So I was writing a paper and I needed to indent my paragraph twice but when I pressed the tab button twice, the WHOLE paragraph moves. So I right-clicked and did something so that I could press the tab button twice without having the whole paragraph move and now I can't get it back to normal. I like doing my study guides in lists so I'll have the question numbered  and the answer next to a bullet. Usually I can just press enter then tab to get to the bullet but now I can't (since i did that right-click thing)

Here's how I want it:
  1. What is 2+2?
  • 4
How I get It:
  1. What is 2+2?
  2.  4
Please tell me how to fix it. Thank you!

Outline numbering to continue on level 2

Posted: 31 Jan 2013 12:38 AM PST

I want to number book sections and chapters as follows:
A, 1, 2, 3,
B, 4, 5,
C, 6, 7, 8
 etc.

Note that I want the 'heading 2' to continue numbering through the first level. But if I set this to "continue previous list", I still get the numbers re-starting with B, then again, with C, etc. Any ideas?

word 2010 mail merge labels - cannot tell what label vendor & product # is being used.

Posted: 30 Jan 2013 08:03 AM PST

What label option is being used in this Word doc?

Hi,

I've received a Word 2010 doc that has 10 labels/pg created using Mail Merge. I would like to know what label vendor & product was selected for these labels. (Ex.: Post-It 2500-H 3-1/3" x 4").

I've searched around in the doc, even clicking thru the 'Table Tools' contextual tabs ('Design' & 'Layout'), but can't seem to get that information.

Thanks.

Is there a way to create a chart in my Word document from maimerge data?

Posted: 29 Jan 2013 11:07 PM PST

I'll try to explain : I have an excel file with per row client information containing name, address, some other data and spread over 4 columns sales data from for example year1, year2, year3 and year4. I've created a mailmerge document which collects data from this excel file (per row) so I have a seperate page per client which shows his info.

Now, I would like to have on each page a chart created from that sales data, so this chart should be dynamically updated with the info which is on each page (and of course is different). Is there any way to do this automatically? I really can't get my head around this. When I add a chart it starts a small (new) excel file, and there seems no way to link the chart to either info on the word document itself, nor to the excel file which I use to gather the mailmerge data.

calendar for internet options

Posted: 25 Aug 2004 12:12 PM PDT

I believe the question may be related to how Works Calendar
can become the default Calendar?

See Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Calendar.

I also believe that Works Calendar has to be disassociated from
the .ics filetype for the question to be asked when Calendar is run.

tables - works 7.0

Posted: 25 Aug 2004 08:55 AM PDT

Software to merge cells.
Word can do a pretty good job for you.

I have One trick that you have use to solve the problem.

Copy the row in the table.( Select the entire row and
copy it).
To paste follow this step.
Edit -> Paste special -> As ( Choose Unformatted text in
the list of options)
Click Ok.

Since you chose that option the formatting of the table
is removed. Thus you get only the content.

Does this help you solve the issue?

I agree. I prefer the brown colour scheme for the Task Launcher and
Calendar. I don't like the default blue colour scheme for XP. Guess I'm
stuck with the purple Works colour scheme.

Hi Rex,

Sometimes, it is a problem with the latest driver that causes this.

In such a situation a search can be made for an older or
compatible printer driver.

If you care to email the file to me I shall investigate for you.

Ken, thanks, I've tried that. Only problem is
my "special character pop-up" dosn't have as many symbols

trick is to get a separate numeric keypad and use the
